Digimon Digimon Idea Thread.

Alright, read through the thread and I don't remember seeing anything about two ideas that have been bouncing in my head, so I'll lay them down. I will admit, I have never seen 05 or 06, and missed most of 04.

Multi-season - Sometime after 04 plays out, some enemy appears and preemptivly takes down all the kids . Lady Ophanimon makes an offhanded plea for assistance and receives one. A number of individuals appear to take the place of the injured heros for this fight.

[Got this idea when, as a young kid who watched Power Rangers, I decided on a whim to see what the name on the most recent iteration on wikipedia. I vaguely remember the replacement rangers arc (and they used it again in another iteration), so I thought: Who would be your choice to replace the 04 cast? I thought for humor sake:

Fire - Daimon Masaru (All I know of him is that supposedly, he likes to punch his opponents. Why not?)
Wind - Taichi Yagami (I'm not even going to mention anything. I think you know already.)
Ice - Cody (I had an picture in my head when I thought this up, but I forgot what it was.)
Lightning - Mitsuo Yamaki (Especially if this is the early 03 verison. Someone who hates Digimon, having to be one? Who knows?)
Light - Jun (Yeah, Davis' sister. Why? Thought it might be a bit funny.)
Darkness - Takato (I had a reason, but I forgot that as well.)]

Feel free to make your own choices there.

03/DS Games - Juggernaut, not Yuggoth, is developed first, fails even worse, and attracts more and more powerful Digimon to Bioemerge. To be able to counter this; Rika, Henry, and Takato gain two additional partners each.

[I actually had the idea that Rika started earlier and with a different partner(I actually thought about Palmon as her first, and that Togemon, under attack by a bunch of Rookies, hits Ultimate when Juggernaut fires as the Rookies become Champions themselves. And that sometime shortly before getting her second partner, Rika would face an In-Training digimon, send Lillymon to attack, and they get their butts spanked badly(That was in tribute to Dawn, got my butt handed to me by 2 In-Trainings. ImperialdramonPM didn't even get a chance to attack.) ]

I know there have been stories where at least Takato get more then one partner, but that idea seems to take second fiddle to the whole 'Takato's new digivice makes him a digimon' plot.

SO I had a thought regarding Wizardmon. He is canonically a master of manipulating data, which while in the Digital World means he can basically do crazy ass magic. He also has an attack called Magical Game that says basically "It's magic, I ain't gotta explain shit" So my thought/question is thus: Is Wizardmon capable of any sort of magic from fiction? What are his limitations and can he overcome them? and what would it be like if one of the digidestined who had the aptitude for learning and/or hacking, like Izzy or Henry, had a Wizardmon companion instead of their canon partner to teach them how to manipulate Data properly? We know there's some cross-dimensional capability, so the consequences interest me.

Is Wizardmon capable of any sort of magic from fiction?
Pretty much
What are his limitations and can he overcome them?
Computation capability it's the main problem... more complex a spell is, more time it needs to be compiled. He's still just an Adult digimon, with a limited amount of power he can use to program spells

That just means a Wizardmon with Prep time is unstopable.

Which is basically what I thought anyway. There's a reason in that second failed RP the Wizardmon shop was going to be basically indestructible, impenetrable, and have all kinds of fun stuff including Eldritch Geometry, Time Dilation, and of course the whole 'bigger on the inside' fun stuff. :p

In fact Latewave thought the thing was so absurdly altered with magic that if Wizardmon died the thing would take out half the city with it as it destabilized.

hm, so Wizardmon improving things in the Real World by manifesting their flaws as monsters and then defeating/destroying those monsters a la Disgaea Item Worlds is something that could happen?

Hmm...Could that would on Digital Items? Or maybe as a way of reversing corruption?

There's a lot of strange stuff in fact that you can apparently find in the digital world that tends to never come up again. Granted, most of it's usually grandiose artifacts for some uber purpose like say the Destiny Stones or the gate and cards, or means of powering up like the spirits or armor, but they you get stuff like the bug digimon controlling flute or the black gears, stuff that isn't attacks of the users in question.

Or the uddles of weapons created for the games, or those ones that carried over to cards with stuff like Guilmon's Kurenai-maru:

Was part of the reason in fact that I made Wizardmon's shop a antique store for all that kind of fun stuff. Anything weird you find you bring to him to examine, and you can buy all kinds of fun stuff of him in return. Certainly helped that his end goal was discovering how to evolve considering he was stuck with a worthless partner. :snigger:

Okay I just watched the dub of the Adventure 02 episode on NickToons, wherein Ken kidnaps and accidentally turns Greymon into Skullgreymon. This caused me to think up a good divergence point.

The dub has Koushiro "Izzy" speculating that Greymon was either captured or destroyed. Let's run with that.

When it looks like the Chosen Children are going to win and free Metalgreymon from his control he decides to deny them this "valuable asset" and commands one of his slaves to attack the weakened Agumon. This succeeds and Agumon ends up dead.

Needless to say this really makes things worse for him and everyone else down the road as even after he tries to "redeem" himself most of the Chosen Children don't trust him, especially the Original Eight due to him killing Agumon. While Daisuke wants to trust him, all the negativity from the others makes him reluctant to do so.

So no Paildramon for quite some time, and Imperialdramon is out of the picture for the foreseeable future.

Things go off the rails completely off the rails after this.

Now let's speculate about all the butterflies that come from this, shall we?

Looking back on 02 I am struck by another idea i have been batting around for years. After the destruction of Chimairamon Devimon's spirit free of it's "host" pulls a Vamdemon and creates for himself a new body. Suddenly Neodevimon is in control of the Digimon Kaiser's base, and repairs it pumping out new Dark Spires, Dark Rings, and Dark Spirals. Again this is another "throw things off the rails" idea that could have some very large consequences, as it stops Jogress from happening due to the Dark Spires still blocking normal Evolution and the New Chosen focusing on using the Digimentals.

Well that was the old idea however since Baalmon is officially a Perfect level now I can easily see Devimon's lingering resentment over his defeat at the hands of Angemon evolving him into a Digimon who is especially strong at countering any Digimon related to the "Holy" attribute.

You know I really think Baalmon should be considered an Ultimate, but one could easily fudge it for story purposes if one wants. Remember they have really messed things up with ranking the Xros Wars Digimon. Hell Mervamon who evolves from the Ultimate level Minervamon is listed as a Perfect, so really one can't trust the "proper" rankings the Xros Wars Digimon.

That aside now that the Adventure 02 Dub is well underway I wonder can we think of other ways to make the series interesting? I think we can all agree that due to certain issues it ended up as a hot mess to say the least. (I want resolution regarding the Dark Ocean dammit!)

So anyone else have some 02 ideas of their own?

Okay, Devimon coming back could be kind of kick-ass, but has the issue of being largely the same thing Vamdemon pulled. And for killing Agumon...yeah, it would cause friction later, but long-term? They go to the Village of Beginnings and pick up the DigiTama. That's really it for Agumon.

Honestly both are "delays" that could seriously hurt the Chosen Children. Remember Archnemon (Arukenimon) is running around making "Fake Digimon" with Dark Spires that are equal to what their "Real" counterparts.

It's not just that she was able to make Blackwargreymon. Remember what she sent after him? One Hundred "Fake" Mammon. One Hundred Perfect Level Digimon. That is nothing to sneeze at. Anything that delays the Chosen Children from getting Jogress and Perfects is a Bad Thing.

Archnemon is a serious threat with the numbers she can bring to the table. It is only that by the time she did so she was focused on other things, first Blackwargreymon and then the Destiny Stones. With Vamdemon and Demon lurking in the background this makes things so much worse.

With the "Neodevimon replaces the Digimon Kaiser" this get's worse as if Archnemon falls under his control he get's the ability to not only enslave Digimon but mass produce an army of "Fakes". Needless to say this really ups his threat level, while the Dark Spires preventing Normal Evolution and Jogress royally screws over the Chosen Children.

Plus it throws a wrench in Vamdemon's plans, as Neodevimon would become aware of "Oikawa" an view him as a threat. Even if Archnemon manages to evade Neodevimon, he will still know something is up, and hunt her for the knowledge of how to "create" his own army.

With the rest of the cast caught in a power struggle between two returning villains, and their own ability to intervene limited without the ability to confront Perfects, it should be very interesting how they handle it.

Edit: Oh I nearly forgot. Digimon Fusion the Dub of Xros Wars premieres tomorrow at 1:30. If they go back to the puns of the first two seasons then I might give it a shot. But I will watch the first few episodes before I make my decision.

In watching the Infamous Cliffhanger episode of 02 wherein Hikari ends up in the Innsmouth Expy a sudden thought occurs to me.

In my Headcannon the "Dark Ocean" is just another term for the Dark Area, it's Japanes Name of "Dark World" just further reinforces this. Logically the Dark Ocean area would be located in Leviamon's domain. Which is right next door to Lucemon's.

As such when Hikari is dragged into Digital Innsmouth she finds a lost and frightened Baby level Digimon who tries to defend her from the Deep One Knockoffs. When she and Takeru leave she takes him back with them. After all they can't leave such a cute little guy in a horrid place like that!

I mean just look at him!

In case you don't realize it that is Lucemon's Baby level form Puttimon.

Which means that Hikari just gave Digital Satan a "get out of Jail free" card.

This could very well have every other high ranking power in Digital Space having a collective "OH SHIT! HE GOT OUT!" moment when they find out what just happened.

While that would make an interesting story it is more likely that Lucemon would remain incognito, only evolving into his Baby II level Cupimon.

In doing so he would quietly observe the Chosen Children, the only real threat to his future rule of both the Real and Digital Worlds of the Eastern Quadrant. Thankfully due to Qinglongmon jobbing yet again the Original Eight will take years to regain the full power of their Crests, which if it happened would truly have been a threat to him. Furthermore the Digimental of Miracles is nowhere to be found after the Crest of Kindness appeared.

And so he quietly prepares to begin his ironfisted reign, when suddenly his rebellious subordinate Demon shows up wanting to gain the power of Milleniamon's Dark Seed within Ken.

So he decides to "remind" his subordinate of his place and use him to help cement his rule of the "New Kingdom".

And so Bad Things Happen and the Chosen Children are left scrambling to pick up the pieces.

As I said it is likely other heavy hitters will turn up to combat the Demon Lord of Pride, and the Chosen Children will be caught in the middle, with most of the high powered Digimon blaming them for this mess.

Where should it go from here?

I suggest to keep Puttimon\Cupimon weak.
Basically, to keep him in the Dark Area Lucemon was devolved to Puttimon, just as strong as most Baby Is and unable to gain power except by gathering Holy\Light power... not really something common in the Dark Area.

Once out and with the Chosen Children(especially Hikari and Takeru) he gets to power-up, even evolving to Cupimon, where he's strong like most Baby IIs.

And to evolve into his Child form, which is Ultimate-level powerful, he needs a CUBIC FUCKTON of energy.

Also, Demon seeing Cupimon with the Chosen only to have a big loud laugh and retire because he HAS to see what's going to happen. And the Chosen being totally nonplussed and wondering what the hell did happen.

Exactly what I was thinking. Just having Lucemon around to take over wouldn't make much of a story. Plus, Lucemon is the Avatar of Pride. Maybe I've been spoiled by Daneel, but the Lucemon I envision is practical, but still bearing the ultimate pride. Like, he wants someone to challenge his supreme authority, but he'll also be completely ruthless in putting them down. The situation as it stands is, for him, too boring, but he also recognizes he can't do anything crazy before making it at least back to Child.

And as for that, well...Some Digimon try for years or decades to reach Adult without managing it, but with a little help, 2 reached Ultimate and 6 reached Perfect in less than a year. Maybe this human partner thing is at least worth taking a glance at. Of course, for the great Lucemon, nothing less than the most outstanding of humans is a suitable partner tool. But who to choose?

Then, once Lucemon has regained his power, I just see him walking away from half of the people who would be his enemies, because, in his view, as they are, they aren't even a suitable demonstration of his supremacy. Just insects that happen to be on the ground along the path he's walking.

Okay so here is a new idea.

Nearly everyone who watched Digimon as a kid was pissed that Sora chose Yamato over Taichi. Tai get's over it because he is friends with them both. However this leaves him "available". Cue wacky hijinks as after the battle with Belialvamdemon he tries to organize the Chosen Children from around the world, inadvertently triggering all kinds of flags with impressionable foreign teenage girls.

Meanwhile his little sister Hikari who is somewhat "protective" of her brother is planning to put these "prospective girlfriends" through hell if they want to get at her beloved brother. After all he has done for her she will be damned if some hussy takes advantage of him!

Thus begins a comedy of errors as Taichi tries to balance organizing the Chosen Children of the world, getting their parents to accept the whole "Defenders of Two Worlds" thing, and trying to adjust to many impressionable young women crushing on him, while his sister acts very weird and downright scary at times.

Meanwhile Tailmon is not sure whether to be horrified, or sell popcorn. Agumon just wants the popcorn when it is mentioned.

Because we all love torturing our favorite characters, and every Digimon fan has a soft spot for the Original Goggle Head.

This would be lovely if Taichi enters a Nanoha phase: the guy simply falls in love with his job and doesn't feel like finding a partner until things have settled down a little (Taichi doesn't strike me as one to 'play around'). So when he sees all these ladies following him he would be like "Why are you people here? Don't you have things to do in your countries? You know, Digimon stuff?"

And Daisuke would all "See? THIS is the MAN I look up to." Yamato would be laughing his ass off...if he laughed, that is.

I've been wondering on things just saw some of xros wars so I had this idea: what if the digital world was the fantasy world, basically the land of fairy tales and magic adapted to the modern era to survive.

So here is a rough draft of a story I am brainstorming over on Spacebattles.

The gist of it is that when Lilithmon sees the inhabitants of Dagomon's Ocean trying to get Hikari she is inspired to kidnap Taichi and forcibly merges him with Agumon as a BioHybrid.

This removes both the Chosen Children's Leader and Omegamon from the field, making it easier for her to plan to attack the admittedly crappy barriers of the Eastern Quadrant.

He eventually escapes her grasp, but is still in a very bad headspace given that Agumon is "dead" and Taichi has essentially been fused with his corpse.

He does not know that the Data of a Human who had undergone the BioHybrid Process can be seperated from the Digimon used in this process.

This is just an unbeta'd rough draft, so feel free to tear it apart mercilessly with criticism.

Digimon: Flesh and Data (Title subject to change)

Pain. It's a strange sensation when your body is made of data. Sure it feels pretty much the same as when you are made of flesh, but it's your body that is different.

Digital Lifeforms don't have "bones" per say but a "Wireframe" over which everything else is layered. It serves the same function as bones, but as long as a Digital Lifeform has a complex enough "processor" to support the Wireframe, a Digicore in the case of Digimon, the shape of the Wireframe and whatever is layered over it can take a seemingly infinite number of forms.

However when compared to my body that was once flesh and blood being made of data, even in my human form always felt a little "off". Like an itch under the skin, or a sudden shudder brought on by the cold. It is there, and it is noticeable at first, but in the end you get used to it, your mind and body adapt as there is literally nothing else you can do to remedy the situation.

In my current form as a Digimon it is different. Every piece of armor is a part of my body, and even though the sensation I feel as they are pierced is not "pain" as humans understand it I still feel it, like the dull throbbing when you have a headcold, only instead centered around the inner layers beneath where my metal "skin" has been run through.

And most importantly there is the oddest "sensation" of pain as a Digimon. I know how I am injured. The information appears in my mind, not as a readout of data or a list of facts. When I was truly "human" all I ever felt was the pain, but now I know everything about my wounds. How they effect my body, how long they will take to heal, and what treatment should be used.

Each and every Digimon knows exactly how injured they are and what is the best way to recover with available options, and past experience. I know just what kinds of data I need to upload in order to repair my body. It's certainly more efficient then a human's defense mechanism's. Of course this is also why Viruses are such a big deal as they can distort a Digimon's Body's ability to recognize damage.

How can one heal if your body does not recognize it has wounds that need to be treated even when you feel the pain?

Which is why the oldest and most experienced Digimon, in particular powerful Perfects and Ultimates treat fights with others on their level so carefully. Sure they can tank hits from weaker Digimon, but when someone is at their level it means they are they elite of their world. And few make it that far without being intelligent. Viruses are one of the most well known ways of taking down an enemy, so the top tiers of Digimon always do everything in their power to avoid getting in a situation where one can disable them.

However I am not a "true" Digimon. Like my partner once did when I "Devolve" the data comprising my temporary form is shunted off me in a cascading flow of energy. This also purges a large amount of data from the Digicore, removing all but the most tenacious bits of Viral Coding.

So unlike my more cautious foes I can more easily "take a hit" providing it is not a lethal one. The pain still comes, more intense now as it pierces my armor and digs into the digital "flesh" of my body. That has not changed since my "alterations". Unfortunately for my foe this is far from the worst pain I have ever felt, making it quite easy to shrug off in comparison to my "Mistresses" tender administrations.

I can't help but feel some pity for this fool as his metallic face leers at me with his skull grin. It passes quickly. The Dark Area is no place for pity.

"Heat Grasper." I intone with a dull almost bored tone as I slam the Dramon Crusher that is my right arm into his chest. The superheated Chrome Digizoid of my boxy "claws" rips through his torso with ease until I encounter resistance.

And there it is the Digicore. Whereas humans depend on their brain and various other organs to function a Digimon is reliant almost solely on this crystalline "organ". I am told it is a "kernel" a computer term I am unfamiliar with. Koushiro was always the computer whiz in our little group.

Even without seeing it I know it is a beautiful thing, a solid sphere of crystal, and barring those of beings like SkullSatamon each one glows with their own distinct light, and a "pulse" of energy unique to each Digimon thrums through it much like a human's heart. So very beautiful, and yet so very fragile. Applying just a little more force to my arm I easily pierce Gokumon's Digicore.

Before I can draw another breath his body dissipates into shards of broken data, the Judgement Sickle buried partway through my chest dissolving away like it was made of mist.

With a sigh I Load my enemies data, denying him a chance at reincarnation. In this world that can almost be considered a blessing. If he is lucky he will not end up as one of the Hitodama drifting through the landscape. Where would his soul denied a chance at being reborn would end up? No one knows, or at least no one is telling me. Perhaps they go to the same place as Human Souls.

"That was reckless Taichi."

I hate that buzzing voice, sounding like it is filtered through an old and out of date speaker, like the ones they used to have in my school.

"It got the job done, and that is what matters. If you have any complaints take it up with Lady Lilithmon. I am sure she would love to hear your irritating voice"

I don't even bother to turn around to face Ebemon, the little self important fool. I wonder did Lilithmon assign him as my "Commanding Officer" to see how long it would take me to snap and kill him? Given what I have heard about him failing her and letting a raid by some of Barbamon's men sack one of her "laboratories" a few years back I would not put it past her.

"How dare you speak to me like that! Lady Lilithmon put you under my command! You will listen to me and follow my orders you freak!"

His buzzing voice is really quite annoying, but worse is his juvenile attitude. Just how did this fool survive to reach Ultimate, much less the Dark Area? He's like a school child demanding that the world "Notice me, I am important!"

While he has a great deal of power, all Ultimates do, Ebemon for all his "Advanced Intellect" is not very creative in it's use, or even all that good in a fight. I half expect that a solid 90% of his processing power is devoted to his ego.

I continue to ignore him and walk away. While I have little skill with High Programming Code I know enough to get by, and the energy I got from loading Gokumon is enough to aid the relatively weak "Healing Spell" I cast. Can't afford to Devolve now, not with Barbamon's scouts in the area.

You don't live for long in the Dark Area if you show weakness in Hostile Territory. And the borders of various holdings of the Lords of the Dark Area are the most dangerous places around, barring Lucemon's realm which only a fool would attack, and GranDracmon's which even the Seven hesitate to set foot in.

Besides it's not like Ebemon can do anything to me. Not only am I more powerful and a better fighter, I am also one of Lilithmon's "trophies". A Chosen Child forcibly merged with his partner and turned into her slave.

She gets a sick pleasure out of having me "defend her borders" congratulating me at every opportunity for protecting her lands, just as I once protected the Eastern Quadrant.

I wish for nothing more then the rip out her Digicore and crush it in front of her face.

And so I entertain that thought as I march on, continuing my assignment of dealing with the scouts that were detecting her territory a few hours ago. Barbamon has been sending them every few days for the past four months now.

All in all this patrol is just another average day in the Dark Area for Taichi Kamiya, former hero and Chosen Child of Courage and now known as BioArsenalGreymon, slave warrior of Lilithmon Demon Lord of Lust.

---------------------------------------------------

Quite rough I know, but I have not written anything this serious in quite some time.

Again feel free to tear it apart, as I really do need the criticism.
