So, does anyone else play Dota 2? I've become addicted over the past few months, and am always looking for more people to team up with.
For those who don't know, Dota was originally a mod for Warcraft 3. Gameplay is 5v5 arena-style matches (online or with bots), and at the beginning of each game you pick from a list of ~100 "Heroes" with varying abilities and seek to destroy the enemy base. Valve approached the guy who made Dota and basically said, "Hey, if you strip out all of the warcraft names we would pay you to develop for this game and sell it on Steam." And thus we have Dota 2, which is mechanically almost identical to Dota 1, bug fixes and patches aside.
(Should this have gone in Everything Else RPG? Dota isn't really an RPG, and I don't know of a general gaming section...)
