Point being, pandering to the mainstream community with multiplayer is not the same as pandering to... their own identity as a company and the fans who rely on that identity to find games they would like to play.
It wasn't until someone mentioned E3 2004 that I recalled the original plan and screen shots for what would become "Dragon Age"

Dragon Age E3 2004

Although they weren't saying much about the multiplayer side of the game today, Ray did tell us to expect all the level of community and multiplayer support that we saw with Neverwinter Nights. You can expect a separate multiplayer campaign with a similar story, but no cutscenes to slow down the action. They did say that they were coming up with some other "creative ideas" to keep the multiplayer campaign flowing and to allow the story to play out, but they weren't giving details at this point.
I recall being on BSN during DA:O and seeing someone complain about the lack of MP. I'm guessing they only ever saw the E3 2004 stuff and had paid no attention to the series since then....which is really their own fault.
Anyways, speaking of MP they'll have a stream on it later today, so I'll provide a link when it pops, till then:

IGN: 8.8

Gamespot: 9 [spoilers in the video review]

Polygon: 9.5

Joystiqe: 5/5

Kotaku Impressions

Eurogamer: 8

Destructoid: 8.5

Games Radar: 4/5

GameInformer: 9.5

Those are all the Reviews I'm going to list though there are more from places like Gamereactor, Time magazine etc. If you really want to read those other game sites their is a continuously updated list: here

Personally, the fact they released the Review embargo a week before the game drops (and have already confirmed a Day 1 patch to clean up some lingering bugs) is a good sign all by itself.

You expect sites and magazines to give it a good review, that's what they exist for. The embargo drop is heartening though.

They're also allowing Xbox one owners to use their EA Access program to play up to six hours of the game starting today.

Any old save bonuses from playing the previous games? And is DA II worth playing just to get them?

Not that I am aware of, as the game doesn't import past saves. Instead you use the Dragon Age Keep to build the world state you want, export it, and the game is suppose to read that from your linked account when it makes a new game. That said, the keep does keep track of past achievements so make of that what you will.

Okay....I am just getting rolling on Act 2 of this game and it's occuring to me that I may take some time before I can provide a comprehensive review....so my thoughts.

I'm having fun.

Examples:

Sitting in jugment over people who've wronged the Inquisition (though that occurs around the start of what I am calling Act 2)

How oblivious to love Cassandra and Josephine are (Seriously....Cassandra has an excuse but Jose....Sigh)

I'm playing on PS4 so the Combat system is fun for me. I've heared their are some issues with the PC controls but since it's not impacting my expierence I can't comment on them.

The major quests are a lot of fun and have a very epic feel to the,

The ability to **** all over the Chantry, play a religious zealot or land somewhere along that sliding scale.

Being a Qunari....seriously I may never roll human again!

Being a Knight-Enchanter....best way I can describe it...kind of a fusion between a Jedi Knight and Gandalf the White...

Issues:

Between the epic quest they do have a lot of go here do this....but they generally try to spice some of them up with amusing characters or flavor text. I think the intent was to get you off the beaten path, which it does since the Empress of Orlais isn't going to invite you to her soiree if the Inquisition doesn't have the power/influence to earn her attention...things gained by exploring and doing those quests/favors.

Not sure how I feel about combat...I mean it's more fun than either Origins or DA2 to me...but I'm still figuring certain things out

There's a lot more to talk about.....but I'm currently trying to figure out what has happened to the Grey Wardens (I can say....it's looking bad) so yeah....I'll try an write a more comprehensive review later.

Edit:
Armor and weapons mods

Okay, to start with, there is no slot for boots and gloves in the inventory screen. What you do, is take a piece of armor, and apply any boots/gloves you find in the world (or craft in your forge) to that armor, earning you a stat bouns along with a visual alteration of the armor to show you have gloves and boots of a certain type on. It's successful in keeping a unified look for you Inquisitor...but if you were trying to walk out the door and have the people wonder "Who let you dress yourself?" it's a lot harder.
Ah one other thing

So after playing the game for a bit did anyone else have the problem of restarting the game over and over make your inquisitor just right.

There's a point where you just have to accept your character flaws and all. Look at it this way, it's the desire to tinker with a past work that led George Lucas to make the changes he did to the original trilogy.

I will say...the British accent brings anice touch of class to the male Inquisiter...but that American accent seems perfect for my Qunari mage.

Ah! Too help those of you just starting out, as soon as you can, buy the Inquisition Perk (under secrets I believe) called "Forward Scouting. It will Mark Quarry and Lumber Logs on your map...things you WILL need later.

Okay, lay it on me, how badly did they screwed over the Warden Commander ? Because we all know what Bioware do to returning former PCs that aren't playable anymore and it's never pretty.
