Okay, lay it on me, how badly did they screwed over the Warden Commander ? Because we all know what Bioware do to returning former PCs that aren't playable anymore and it's never pretty.
Actually, Haven't seen anything on the warden commander...but I will send you something in PM.

I just sentenced a man to tranquility....despite the fact that it has pissed off some of my allies and my companions I hold no regrets. The man's actions, what he caused alone would justify the sentence....not to mention what he would've done had I not stopped him. Then the idiot got mouthy, claiming that if I struck him down he'd only become more powerful than I could possibly imagine(and I did have the option to deal the killing blow myself). All the headaches that will come with the this decision were made worth it the moment I saw his panicked expression and heard him beg me not to take away his self.

I think I can safely say at this point, that Dragon Age: Inquisition shows Bioware has listened to the fanbase. I won't pretend all their solutions to the problems of past games, or the way they executed new ideas will find favor with all, but the effort is visible to me.

Case in point, the following scene. I did it as a Qunari Male Mage who tended to take the sarcastic approach, so some of my responses were different....I was also romancing Josey

Is the dialogue still awfully cringe-inducing like in past Bioware games? After the mess of Dragon Age: Copypaste I remain skeptical about DA in general, and videos I've seen of Inquisition don't seem promising in that aspect, "Ride the Bull" being most obnoxious example. On the other hand if actual miracle has happened and EA has actually listened to their consumers for once I might consider purchase despite my misgivings.

Not sure what you want me to say....I've seen very large and open areas with very different designs, I've personally enjoyed the dialogue and character stuff, along with the combat. The game has bugs so you may want to wait a few more weeks depending on your system of choice but otherwise it's getting a recommendation from me.

But here some other thoughts:

Another perspective from a fellow gamer on another site.:

I finished the game on Friday, and just finished Act 1 on my Nightmare playthrough. Thought I'd stop by and share some bullet points on what I thought of the game. Before I get into it, just an fyi I skipped half the side content on my first playthrough, and my time was around 45 hours. So I didn't experience everything yet. With that in mind, here's what I thought:

The Good

I loved all the wide open areas I could explore, and how much variety there was in their environment.

Crafting system was very well done, and I love how it changed the look of your weapons/armor.

Story for the most part was good. Plenty of jawdropping and touching moments.

Characters were awesome. Cass, Varric, Iron Bull, Sera, and Dorian being my favorites.

The music is easily the best in the series. Trevor Morris did a brilliant job.

Managing the Inquisition yourself added so much depth to the game. Upgrading Skyhold, passing Judgements, and coordinating at the War Table fall under this category.

Combat was enjoyable and challenging at times. Granted I didn't play on the PC, which I hear the Tactical Camera is difficult to manage.

The Dragon Fights were epic as hell. Bioware really nailed the whole "Super Optional Bosses" thing with this game. Each Dragon felt different fighting, which is how it should be.

Great character customization.

There's no narrative landmine towards the end.

The Bad

There is an absurd amount of bugs, some of which pretty damn major, still in the game. As torturous as it was waiting for this game, it clearly wasn't ready for release yet.

There's no background ambient music when exploring different hubs. You'll get a 5-10 sec music sting every few minutes before it fades away and that's it. This is a big deal to me, as it helps me immerse myself into the world I'm spending hours exploring.

The final mission in the game is very underwhelming and short. The Battle of Denerim wipes it's ass with this game's finale.

Main story could've used more missions. I was very surprised when I found out I was nearly the end of the story.

The "No Healing" system just doesn't work. It's very frustrating on the harder difficulties as enemies chew through your guard like paper. I've found myself backtracking to camp to refill my potions one too many times.

Not a big negative, but the game really could've used an approval meter for the party members.

As of right now, I personally find this to be Bioware's best game since Mass Effect 2. It is NOT in my opinion better than Dragon Age: Origins, but it is leagues better than DA2. I personally do not think we'll ever get a new Bioware game on the same level of storytelling quality as the days of Kotor, ME1 and DA:O. Mostly because they're owned by a company who won't give them the luxury to take their time and really flesh out their vision. But if we can at least get future games with a quality as good as this, then I'm happy. It's currently my favorite game this year, and I can't wait for the DLC, and I'm hoping the game sells well enough to warrant the next entry.

Addendum:

The first time I beat the game it was on Hard, and with that difficulty the "No Healing" system was manageable. I only had a couple of times where I had to leave a dungeon to restock on potions. THere was one main mission I really struggled on (End of Act 1), but that was it. For the most part though I had to be very careful with my potion consumption. Right now on Nightmare it's an absolute bitch not being able to heal up. That said it does help that I know what I'm getting into with each mission so it does help me prepare. My advice if you're gonna play the harder difficulties next, is BEEEEES. Make lots and lots of Jars of Bees. It helps so damn much when you're getting overwhelmed by a mob.

So wait...to actually survive in Nightmare mode, you have to go full Skitter on them?

That seems harsh and somewhat difficult when the no healing system starts kicking me in the ass.

Well....yeah....it's called 'Nightmare Mode' for a reason.

If the following (found on redit) is true...yeah Knight-Enchanter is OP....

1 Acquire the skill that generates barrier when you deal damage
2 Acquire high tier heavy armor schematic
3 Acquire about 20 silverite
4 Acquire one fade touched silverite

The silverite will let your make heavy armor that isn't class restricted. Making it with the fade touched silverite masterwork will make it so you generate guard every time you hit. Essentially every time you take a swing you'll be gaining both guard and barrier.

I play on hard (no nightmare for me thx) and solo-ed dragons and giants after my party all ran out of potions and died because as long as I keep outputing damage I am very hard to kill.

I think I've posted enough reviews for people to make up their own minds.

I will likely just post patch and expansion updates here.

I will keep an eye on the thread so if you have any questions, feel free to ask.

Just a quick story question, hopefully without spoiling the details: Does morrigan's plot get advanced?

DLC/Expansion When?
Last I heard they were working on putting some things back in the game they were originally forced to cut, and sending that out as a free download.

Kotaku discusses Solas, spoilers for the ending

The fact that Solas occupies the Judas position in the last supper image makes me very angry with myself. I should've caught that months ago.

The Dalish use "harellan" to mean "traitor to one's kin," but the word does not appear in any elven text before the Towers Age. The ancient root-word is related to "harillen," or opposition, and "hellathen," or noble struggle. The Dalish call Fen'Harel a god of deception, but I posit a far more accurate translation would be "god of rebellion."
...that....really does fit....

3:19 the more I think about it...the more I believe that Solas is some kind of ancient Elven Rebel leader who worked to throw down the Nobels.

Patch 5 includes The Black Emporium

As part of the beta, participants will have access to the Black Emporium, a mysterious underground shop run by an immortal proprietor. There, Inquisitors can find powerful artifacts and tools to aid their cause, purchase epic weapons, powerful accessories, new crafting materials and schematics, and even change their voice and facial appearance using the Mirror of Transformation.

This game needed storage so bad. It's probably the change I'm happiest about. That other stuff is nice too.

DLC Jaws of Hakkon releases tomorrow

Let the record state that I now official hate BSN. Every time I poke my head in somebody is complaining about something. Last Friday people were upset that no new information on DLC had come to light. Now, not an hour after it's announced there will be a trailer and a DLC release for Xbox One and PC tomorrow, two separate threads pop complaining about the DLC being too much like Skyrim.

Simply put, the "fan" have sucked the joy out of being on BSN for me.

I'm impressed you lasted this long, BSN has been awful for a looong time.

Haven't quite finished yet, but I think the DLC is pretty decent. Though I think it probably should've cost 10 bucks rather than fifteen.
