Sometimes I lie awake at night, and I ask, "Where have I gone wrong?" Then a voice says to me, "This is going to take more than one night." - Charlie Brown

Dream a Little Dream With Me

Emma Frost was in control of her emotions... Still. The fact that she'd had to clamp down on them and had to close her eyes didn't diminish that.

God, she'd thought Banshee's nightmares were bad.

It wasn't really her fault that she slipped into other people's dreams when they both were sleeping - she didn't have much control over it. She was a telepath. It happened.

Sean's nightmare about his memory had been a worse experience than Skin's immature fantasies - even the nightmare Chamber had about his chest blowing out. Paige's had been... simple to deal with.

Yet she was the White Queen. She'd seen worse, done worse, and wasn't affected much.

But she really, really wished she hadn't found herself inside Jubilee's dream.

Nightmare.

Memory.

She was certain of it.

Telepaths learned how to tell things that did and did not happen apart fairly early, and Emma knew this had to have happened. It had all the signs of a memory that the mind was merely reliving during a dream.

Ugh.

How the hell did the girl... no, woman, she corrected herself. How the hell did the woman live with this sort of baggage? And still manage to believe in Xavier's dream?

The White Queen forced herself to watch, narrowed eyes looking once more at what was happening, trying to stay clinical as she analyzed. It was times like this that she doubted she'd chosen the correct line of thought in dealing with humans... Magneto might well have had the right idea.

Her mental form blinked as the scene suddenly faded out, replaced by a vision of... herself? And Jubilee?

...

Where were their clothes?

Emma gulped as the dream's R rating was suddenly earned by sex instead of violence.

Not a memory that time.

This was... Uncomfortable though. Watching herself with a student. She ignored the idea that it was uncomfortable because she was actually willing to entertain the idea where she'd have laughed at the suggestion yesterday.

Jubilee had a very active imagination though... Emma licked her lips as she watched, almost physically feeling the sensations it would cause, subconsciously suggesting a slight change in position for greater mutual pleasure. Reveling as Jubilee's mind apparently picked it up, and ran with it, took it to new extremes. Watching expectantly as Jubilee decided to change positions once more and... Oh my. Even with all her experience, Emma wasn't aware the human body could bend that way. Was that even possible?

"I'm willing to try if you are." Jubilee's voice suddenly echoed through her head.

The white-clad telepath jerked herself away from the vision, wildly looking around.

Jubilee's mental form - rather more mature than the physical form Emma was used to, and which she'd been watching having wild monkey sex with her own - cheerfully grinned at her, then turned to watch the dream still in progress.

"Y'know Frosty, I hear thinking of smut is often the first reaction to telepaths. I suppose peope think it'll keep them out." The voice sounded far too amused at Emma's expense, the headmistress felt. "Not lure them further in."

Emma would have sighed at herself, if she'd been in her physical form and thus had lungs. "I tripped one of your mental alerts, I presume."

Jubilee shrugged, and impishly smiled. "Jean and the Prof helped me some. I've dealt with all of that, but it's difficult to forget... So they placed some traps. I changed the channel when I became aware of your presence."

The telepath considered the implications of Jubilee willfully changing from what her dream had been to this. "You know we're going to have to talk about... this."

"Just talk?"

The blonde looked at Jubilee. "Yes. You ARE still my student."

The asian huffed.

"And you know how many complications it'd cause." Emma continued, trying not to further consider the idea... Not helped by the fact that, in the dream, she was currently... Oh my. Again. She needed to get out of here. "I'll wake us up."

"One little thing to think about when you do..." Jubilee spoke.

"Oh?"

Jubilee smirked. "Gymnast, Frosty. I CAN bend that way."

The dream broke, finally.

Emma found waking up didn't help at all.

If this wasn't over, and nearly perfect oa it is, I'd ask for a sequal. Though I'd prefer a series.

Wow... Well... I'm not sure what to THINK.

That was entertaining, for a lack of better words.

I haven't read Emma Frost/Jubilee in quite some time. It's always amusing. But then again it does have Jubilee. Now if only The Wolverine and Jubilee Page would reopen it's fanfiction archive again.
