This is the election for one of the admin positions. You have one choice. The election for the second admin position will be later.

This poll will be open for 4 days.

One thing I forgot to mention- use this thread to discuss the pros/cons of any choice, mention who you voted for, and don't forget you can change your vote!

Erg, I don't really know any of the nominees well enough to make an informed decision, at least not for this important of a choice. And I'm pretty sure I'm not the only person in this predicament. Maybe if each nominee could jump in and post their programming experience and the reason they want to be admin? That could help all the lurkers, newbies, and dummies who rarely ever step out of the Naruto section like me to decide.

I'm voting for Vexarian.

But yes, some campaigning from the candidates would be appreciated.

That could help all the lurkers, newbies, and dummies who rarely ever step out of the Naruto section like me to decide.
I find this funny, as I've never stepped into the Naruo section (as far as I remember).

I voted for wata, because he's ran impartial things for TFF before (Iron Fic), he's active on IRC, and he seems like he would do a good job to me.

Most importantly, he's not Danzou Vexarian.

I'm definitely the least well-known candidate, so I feel obligated to post something.

I tossed my hat into the race because at the time there were only three nominees, and I wanted voters to have more choices. I'm glad lightwave accepted his nomination (literally at the last minute) to bump the number of choices to five.

I'm a software engineer. Web technologies aren't my specialty, but I've dabbled. I used to be an admin for an IPB forum (the forum software old TFF used, though my board was v2.1 instead of v1.3), and I was a mod for a Bleach forum back in the height of its popularity.

I've been visiting old TFF consistently for nearly five years. The systems I work on have long compilation and unit test times, so I'm usually able to jump onto the forum periodically throughout the day.

I'd rather be the backup/deferring admin. I have no problem with the other four candidates, but some are rather polarizing/outspoken, so it could benefit to have a more passive guy like me lurking in the background to balance things out.

Because the badmins are an awful idea.

Also A vote for Wave is a vote for Nuclear power and the Ford Class ships.

>>
Totally not shilling about being the one of the first on a new class of carrier.

So fun.

Being a Star Trek fan, I'm all for the new proposed CVN-80 Ford Class vessel...

Well, I've been a part of TFF since 2007, which is around six years now. I've generally been very active, if somewhat eclectic in my activity, so I'll usually be available if anything should happen or demand attention. I'm very outspoken, but I also consider myself exceptionally principled and very fair, I absolutely hate foul play and although I realize it doesn't mean much to say, wouldn't abuse whatever power I may or may not be granted.

My programming experience is limited, but should be more than sufficient for an administrator. I understand how computers work, I can read and interpret programming syntax. I have very little hands-on or technical experience in programming or troubleshooting, but that isn't anything that some simple research couldn't solve, and I understand enough that I would know exactly what it is I would need to know, and how to find it.

I like to imagine you or another candidate dealing with all the bullshit while I silently fix teh forum interwebs in the background.

Shirotsume's endorsement of Watashiwa sounds good, but damn you lightwave for putting up such a convincing campaign!

I vote for nuclear power! :D

I must ask - HOW?

At the moment I'm not interested in changing my vote, but am interested in convincing others to change theirs.

You should have an option to Undo Vote.

"You have already voted on this poll. [Undo vote]"

That is very not obvious nor intuitive. Can the polls engine be changed to something more obvious?

Didn't notice that before. Thanks!

@rdde,

Intuitive or not, it's NOT a good idea to go around changing the voting engine DURING the vote. Perhaps for the next election we can think about it.

Well, looks like Watashiwa is going to sweep the first election, unless there's some manner of upset.

Dude deserves it too.

In the meanwhile, I'll have to begin planning what terrible smear tactics I'll use against The-Ero-Sennin in the next round.

I suppose you could try going for the moral vote, decrying his blatant usage of ero in his name, but that would likely backfire given this site's user base.

Instead of a smear campaign, promising hookers and blow is probably a better platform.

Watashiwa is going to win and he hasn't even posted in this thread to tell me why he should win! Everyone that voted for him must be his sockpuppets!

That actually brings up a deep philosophical question I've been contemplating over the last few days.

If someone uses a sock puppet to give you a hand job, does it count as a blow job too?

Edit: I am in no way trying to imply sexual favours involving sock puppets were used to sway my vote. I am far too upstanding an individual to let that happen.

You do realize that Ero-Senin has promised us Women & Good Times? It was in one of his posts on an earlier thread...

Rely on the opinion of someone else to determine what the correct woman or good times would be?

In any case, I thought the slogan was:
A vote for The Ero-Sennin is a vote for giant robots, badasses, and epic fight scenes.

No, no. That's his slogan for the 'Favorite Author' vote. An entirely different election.

Speaking of which, I need to figure out how to make some e-certificates. Damn weekend went by so fast ...
