Evangelion Evangelion horror story.

Okay, everyone, picture this.

Tokyo-3, in the grip of an actual outright horror story.

My idea? The cast of Evangelion has to live through a zombie apocalypse, or better yet, a Xenomorph infestation.

I had a bizarre idea involving that last one that ended with EVA-02 fighting a giant-sized Queen with wings.

But I digress.

What about the rest of you? Any particular scary ideas you've had for a horror story?

Zombie apocalypse probably doesn't work so well ultimately in Eva. Inside NERV maybe, but that's a relatively short story. If you can get the kids into the Evas and point them at a horde of zombies (presumably and grimly after most humans are gone from that area) there's not much the zombies can do.

The best I've seen for Eva are psychological horror* or cosmic horror (think the Cthulhu and Cthulhupunk crossovers).

*I remember some Eva story that in general was mediocre in general but had one good scene. Shinji in Eva 01 was sent out to investigate some place, and at one point he heard Misato tell him to look in a certain direction. He did, and saw some strange creature standing there, which then vanished. After that he panicked and asked her about it, only to be told that she never gave him any such order.

I was gonna say, having a giant alien robot kinda ruins the impact of a zombie apocalypse...

Unless the Evangelions become zombies, I suppose.

Well one common thing to do with Evangelion crossovers is to rip out the native mythology and replace it with the cross. So what would Evangelion be like without the pseudo Judeo-Christian mysticism and zombie mythos instead?

I'm guessing the Evas are in fact dead and reanimated using whatever Zombie genre Nerve draws from primarily. Maybe the Angles each draw from a different zombie sub-genre?

Go for the cold war bioweapon leftlover, some scanvenger group found an underwater research facility and recovered barrels, the virus got free and for the first days or weeks was a Romero type of infection. Nothing that the police could fail to stop. But thanks to Adam "particles, cells, dust" in the atmosfere the virus started to change into something else.

When the infection arrives to Japan thanks to the higher concentration of angel stuff the virus is going full Resident Evil.

I have another based on FEAR, Kyoko being the equivalent of Alma Wade.

During the contact experiment something happened, if her soul got teared in two, and one part is in the EVA, what hapenned with the other?

I could see her "haunting" NERV in Germany, maybe Asuka's dad is death before the start of the series, Dying in a very horrible way, and some personel related to the contact experiment.

Could be interesting that thanks to the experiment the free part of Kyoko could start to really understand how to manipulate the reality in the ways that the angels and evas do.

Of course, there is Asuka, her shitload of problems, and Shinji who sincronized two times with the EVA-02.

I don't remember dates, but if Kyoko died before Yui, and the experiment was done using her data, she could be pissed with the Ikaris, and there is a tasty target living with her daughter.
