I quite enjoyed <a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/7215670/1/Timeline-of-Fate' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>Timelines of Fate</a>. It, unfortunately, switches between Shirou in Camelot, and the 5th Grail War, which Shirou is one of the two Saber's called forth.
The "Present" time segments are pretty weak, but the stuff that takes place in Camelot is quite good, although there are plenty of things that don't conform to canon.

and why would EMIYA go to camelot? well IIRC it was to become The Once and Future King and EMIYA is future Shirou so while he may be in twu wuv with saber hw had a certain deal of affection for her (at least his version of her).
as for titles.

That's what kind of gets me about Archer. He knows Gilgamesh is present, which means that 7 of Servants are available to be sacrificed for the Grail to open a path to the Root that Archer can take advantage of. If anything can grant him freedom, that is it. Even the Grail being corrupted isn't really a hindrance since his wish would be a massive act of destruction, the removal of a collected and archived soul from existence.

Archer may know about Gilgamesh, but does he know about the Grail being used to get to the Root? Considering that he isn't even aware of Angra Mainyu's presence (see UBW--unlike Caster, he didn't know that evil Servants could only be summoned after the Third War) it seems unlikely he'd know about the Grail's true purpose.
(Aside from that, would either function of the Grail really help him? I doubt the wish-granter would have the sheer power to erase someone from the Throne, and even if he opens a path to the Root, you run into the same problem.)
