Naruto Familial Arangements

Shortly after she becomes a Gennin (before the mission to Wave Country), Sakura's parents inform her that, many years ago, before the Kyuubi came to Hidden Leaf, they arranged a marriage for her with a powerful clan. The last son of that clan is on her gennin team. (Cue Inner Sakura erupting in joy over being engaged to Sasuke.) The clan is Uzumaki. (Cue Sakura crashing into shock and despair.) Then they, or perhaps the Hokage, inform her that he's the vessel that the Kyuubi was sealed in, and as his future wife, it is her responsibility to make sure it never gets out. Perhaps the Hokage suggests that she should be kind ot him, so that he never wants to let it out, or maybe she figures it out on her own. Either way, it should trigger a serious explosion on the subject of the way the villagers have treated him.

How would the village react when the engagement was announced (other than various Bishounen fangirls thinking 'One less rival' or 'better her than me')? Would Sakura be shunned, or pitied?

How different would Naruto become, with Sakura being nice to him, and perhaps actively helping him grow stronger and more skilled? Will Kyuubi have an opinion?

How will this change Sakura?

Would Sasuke be any different, at all?

What about poor Hinata? Does the concept of 'official mistress' exist in Konoha? If it does, would Hinata have the nerve to try for it? Would Sakura be even slightly receptive to the idea?

Then her parents are also aware of whom Naruto's parents are, or at least one of them. Gawd, can you imagine how much Naruto will pester them for intel on his parents?

A mix of both, I think. The common people of Konoha has always struck me as a very unpleasant bunch of bigots, so guilty by association would probably be quite common. Those that knew Sakura before and knows that she isn't a horrible beast just because she's engaged to him, will probably pity her.

Not sure, really. It depends on factors not mentioned in the idea. I wonder if Naruto's mother, or one of his grandparents, left him a letter to read when he learned of the engagement. (If I write it, the engagement was arranged by Naruto's and Sakura's maternal grandfathers, and since they both had daughters, it fell to the next generation to complete the deal. I've tentatively named his maternal grandfather 'Uzumaki Kenichi', and am undecided on a name for his mother, or Sakura's grandfather. That and the idea above are about all I have for the story, though.)

I don't think Sasuke would be receptive to that idea, himself. He doesn't seem to like her (or anyone else) all that much, in the first place. Then again, I've only read the first five volumes of the manga, and seen a couple episodes of the anime, plus a bunch of fanfics. Does he ever get to be any less of an obsessed jerk, in canon?

No...there is a picture of Sasuke next to the definition of "jerk" in the dictionnary...

And on top of that, his sexuality is still unknow. He have a whole fanclub ready to submite to him and do nothing, but when a freaky snake-gyu with an apparent interest in young pretty boy show up, he ran to him immediatly...

So for me there is 2 possibility with Sasuke, he is gay, or totaly asexual...which don't help fot the clan resurection... ^_^

One of the things GH and Mosh will tell you about Sakura, idiot and blind to the fact that Sasuke has only one goal in mind. Kill Itachi at all cost. Even threatened to kill Naruto as well. Even if this means letting Orochimaru take over his body. All of this, like the Deathwing said, doesn't help in his dream of ressurecting the Uchila Clan.

As for feelings... <_< Whacking someone over the head doesn't equal :wub: . And Thank You? I'm going by the theory that he sees Sakura and Naruto as nothing more then friends. And dare I say this (since this is the ammo those Naruto/Sasgay people use), I think he's closer to Naruto as well. <_<

Sasuke has no room for love and feelings after all he is the Avenger... (dramatic pose.) And seeing that killing your closest friend seems to be a habit for the Uchiha's it makes you wonder. By the way the fact that Sasuke tries to kill Naruto and not Sakura is a proof of who he cares more about. But from that and to the now infamous Naruto/Sasgay pairing is a loooong way which the fangirls of said pairing ignore.
