I can see the homepage and categories I've never touched before.

It appears to be down completely. Has been for at least 30 minutes or so. I'm just getting a 'page load error' at the moment. I'll check back later and see if it's still gone. Hopefully it will only be a few hours, and not a few days.
Some of the feeds seem to be working, uncertain they all are though.

The main page is loading, but sluggish.

Category page is running normal speed.

Direct category links are working, normal speed.

A test of the first story in the Love Hina crossover category has it popping up normal speed.

I can log in, and can see my profile.

Since I do not write, no clue if the author uploading works.

EDIT: I'm not completely convinced all is ok, as not all the feeds seem to be updating, even popular ones, like NGe not only has no new stories, but no new comments.

Seems to be up again, at least partially. Though, I've not tried uploading anything.

Has anyone else noticed that certain author pages on ffn will crash firefox every time they load? I'm getting this with Chronodt's page ( author of Dance of the Pyreflies) today, but yesterday I was getting it with a different author that works fine today.

It seems to crash when trying to load something from pixel.quantserve.com, though I'm not sure if thats causing it.

I've got adblock plus installed, and am using FF3.5

Yup, so does my own Author Page. It tends to get stuck on loading sometimes, which means my fav fics list is not loaded while others are. Asnd I used it to check what fics I like is updated or not too. :headbanger:

Both author pages load up fine for me, though I agree that quantserve is the slowest of the ad servers on FFnet. I am using Chrome, not Firefox, but the difference shouldn't be that much. If Firefox is crashing for you, likely there's something in the page that's consuming too much resources, probably a flash ad. Get the the Flashblock extension for that, if you haven't already.

Also, perhaps this has something to do with FFnet's attempt to "improve site performance" for users from certain geographical regions (see news on their main page). There may be a bottleneck somewhere, depending on your locality.

using no script

will block quantserve

no more crashing.

Storymarks seem to be down again. They really need to make sure they don't fuck something up when upgrading.

Heh... Just noticed... FanFiction.NET just broke their AdBlocker pages as they redid the links to them, but not the functionality.

HOWEVER...

The old links to it still work. Just not the new current ones. Good think I had turned mine into a direct link favorite a long time back.

i'm getting a weird error on FFN

I can log in fine, and it takes me to my user page, but when I go to any other page, it doesn't remember that I logged in. Anything that requires a logged in user, like signed reviews, isn't available

Anybody else getting something like this?

Sounds an awful lot like your cookies aren't getting saved. Try clearing them or restarting.
(For the record, I dropped a signed review today, so it's not happening to me)

It isn't that. When I click on the login button again, I go to my profile page as if I'm still logged in. Going to any other page shows the login button at the top and not my username.

Just to be certain, I did clear my cookies and tried again. Still the same thing.

Maybe it's just me but I keep getting an error when logging in... I thought it was just some of their usual ' things are down come back later' issues but it still won;t let me log in. I just sent of an e-mail to their support. hopefully it will get cleared up 6-_-

I also had problems logging in, but it seems to be fine now.

I'm still getting the bug where I log in, but whenever I go to the main page or story, the site doesn't remember my login. This is happening with Firefox,
Chrome and IE on two different pc's.

I've been getting an odd error for the crossover sections. I go to show all crossovers with a particular series (Ranma for example), but it won't show results for all ratings. It sticks with K->T only. Just the crossover archives, so I have to go the long route to check things.

Must be just you... ones I've checked work fine... The very first entry for me in Ranma, for example, is a 'M' rated story.

Possible. It doesn't seem like a message is being sent to the site at all, but only on the crossover sections. Kinda odd, and I doubt I set any page blocking to that effect.

I have the exact same problem. It won't update for ratings in the Ranma crossover section. Was just going to wait and see if it got fixed, but I figured I'd say that it is happening to others.

EDIT1: Never mind... I think I figured it out.

Mine still works as the functionality is built into the link, which I have saved as a direct link.

HOWEVER. They messed up something on the actual normal crossovers pages with the combo selection boxes for rating. I get "Done with errors on page' in my status bar in IE, and the link does not match my saved one.

Since it is at the site, it should not matter which browser you are using unless it can interpret/render the page despite the errors.

Anyone with direct links to it though, should be unaffected, since the link works, the site merely cannot generate the link using the combo selection boxes.

I have direct links to the sections simply because my program uses them to generate feeds for them for loading into Sharpreader. The feeds are also working.

EDIT2:

Anyone wanting to get to those pages despite the rendering issue can manually generate the link needed.

For example, the correct view all Ranma crossovers link is:

http://www.fanfiction.net/Ranma_Crossovers.../0/0/0/0/0/0/1/

For any link, take up to the first number of the series in question and add on the end from above.

Thus using NGE as a example, the correct NGE link becomes:

Code:
http://www.fanfiction.net/Evangelion_Crossovers/119/ ?+ 0/10/0/1/1/0/0/0/0/0/0/1/
or

http://www.fanfiction.net/Evangelion_Cross.../0/0/0/0/0/0/1/
