Eh. I find Sakura boring. Sure, it's tragic what happens to her and when something is done about it I'll cheer, but I honestly don't care enough to insist she be shoehorned in to stories set post other endings, especially post UBW if Rin and Shirou head off to London. It's perfectly possible they never find out, you know. Sure, it's tragic, but it's entirely possible. Especially considering the difficulty of doing anything about her situation. Honestly, if Sakura's situation actually comes up in a fic that isn't post-HF, there's no way to go about dealing with it that wouldn't end up consuming the entire plotline because the creepy penisworms are just that difficult to get rid of.

And if the author had a plot in mind that doesn't revolve around helping Sakura, it's easiest just to say that Shirou or whoever never found out. It's a perfectly reasonable possibility, even if it sucks for Sakura. Not everyone can always get a happy ending.

She was four. Zouken got her about a year before the fourth war.

And I'm not comparing her past to Shinji, I'm comparing their generally pessimism.
Well, Sakura has a damn good reason to be pessimistic. Her life sucks, she can't do anything about it and barring a miracle it's not going to get any better. However, she actually isn't. Given the situation she is in, she is remarkably up-beat, particularly when she is around Shirou.

Blinking to get rid of the after effects of ôwaking upö Shirou immediately became aware of his surroundings, and what was happening in front of him.

Shirou frowned as he watched BerserkerÆs horrendously one sided battle against the king of heroes; knowing exactly what would happen after the giants fall.

Leaping over the edge of the banister he was crouched against, he immediately summoned a pair of his many swords to his hands, and charged the grinning blond.

Taking notice of movement out of the corner of his eye, Gilgamesh barely bothered to register his target as a threat, before assaulting him with his vaultÆs treasure.

Each blade was blocked, or deflected, as necessary, Berserker was finished, his body dissolving into tiny motes of light, even as the god king of UrukÆs arrogant laugh echoed around the hall.

ôIs that really the best the so called æKing of HeroesÆ can do?ö he taunted, heÆd beat Gilgamesh a hundred times, and heÆd beat him again a hundred more; power was nothing next to experience.

ôMongrel you dare mock me!?ö He growled out, sounding more like the mongrel that he called me then he realised.

ôOf course, after all... YouÆve already lost.ö And hundreds of noble phantasms sprang to life behind him, easily outnumbering the amount of weaponry his gate could unleash.

He couldnÆt fire, not without risking Illya or Rin, but Gilgamesh didnÆt know that.

ôGive up and leave, King of Heroes, and continue your quest another day.ö

Gilgamesh was no fool, he knew, that while saving the girl was the young copy catÆs goal, he wouldnÆt hesitate to end them both, and dying here would prevent him from acquiring his beloved Saber.

ôChe, fine! Take the stupid doll.ö And just like that, he was gone.

Turning his head to the cowering Matou, who had taken up residency in the corner as soon as the weapons had materialised around his one time friend.

ôYou on the other hand...ö The weapons had already vanished, back into his reality marble until he needed them again.

Deciding not to test the patience of the red head, Shinji had started to run as soon as the attention was on him.

She wasn't like that until she started to stay around Shirou. Prior to his kindness she was a very gloomy girl that no one got close to.

Yeah, but even so, the fact that she has the ability to bounce back as soon as she has even a glimmer of hope in her life is extraordinary.

The first thing Shirou noticed as soon as he finally laid down on the sand to bask in the tropical sun was that his now familiar red garb he wears as Archer suddenly materialized over his swimming trunks, followed by the tingling sensation at his scalp as his hair turned white. The next instant had him free-falling in the rather funky light tunnel.

Then came the table fast approaching, much rather in the way of his falling trajectory.

Then came pain.

He was groaning in abject misery when his ears picked up a rather strange but particular noise.

"D-did we do it?"

...That sounded like a high-pitched version of Sakura's voice.

"I'm not sure, I can't see over the dust."

And that one was like a high-pitched version of Rin's voice.

...Huh...

"Well, then. I am Servant Arhcer." Shirou began sounding out the long rehearsed script, "I ask of you. Are you ...my...Master...?" Shirou blinked as his voice faded off.

As the dust settled, he stared as an 8-year old Tohsaka Rin looked at him, while a 6-year old Sakura peeked over Rin's shoulders shyly.

Each held one-and-a-half Command Sigils on their arms.

'...Huh...This is different...

Ten Years later

Tohsaka Sakura suddenly began mauling Matou Shinji and True Assassin, just as Rin and Shirou, Saber and Archer began facing off against Makiri Zouken and a rather large, but weak, army of bulbous shadowy beings.

Archer AKA EMIYA felt proud at this development, even as Ilya and Berserker joined the fight against Zouken.

He felt especially proud when Sakura incapacitated both Shinji and Assassin with a well-placed kick in their respective crotches, a move HE very much taught Sakura.

'Huh...This definitely is different...'

Agreed. Of course, it took ten years to prepare them, but ten years being trained by Archer EMIYA would certainly lead to badassery.

Meh. I didn't quite say that it took ten years to culminate to that.

***

Present

Little Sakura clung to EMIYA's leg, sobbing as she kept her vicegrip on his pants' legs.

Little Rin looked very close to tears herself.

EMIYA sighed, "Sakura, please let go of my leg..."

He tried not groan in annoyance as Little Sakura only shook her head, and clung even tighter. "No! I dun wanna go the creepy old man!"

EMIYA grimaced at this. Said 'creepy old man' was non other than Zouken Makiri, coming to claim a deal made with the Tohsaka family. EMIYA very well knew what this meant, and the future tragedy it would bring.

"Of course not. I'm asking you to let go, so we can make proper preparations to say no."

The girls blinked at this.

Four Days Later

Zouken had to smirk as Sakura soon-to-be Matou walked towards him, while his eight-year old grandson held a sneer at the meek looking girl approaching them.

"Well, child. I hope you finally understood what's best for both families."

Sakura gulped at this, then answered, "I have my answer."

Zouken raised an eyebrow at the strange answer, but didn't give too much thought into it, As he turned around, beckoning her to follow, "Well, come along then. There is much that you need to be educated to be a proper Matou."

He expected her to be hesitant to follow, foolish young child that she was. What he hadn't been expecting was an answer, "But I didn't even say what my answer was."

Before Zouken could react, Little Sakura suddenly dashed towards the two. Then she kneed Shinji in the groin, while kicking Zouken's cane off balance as she ran back towards the Tohsaka household.

Two Matous were on the ground that day. One clutching his crotch, whimpering in pain, while the other was cursing a little girl that she'll rue the day she was born for evoking his wrath, while cursing about his thrown back as well.

On the roof, with a bow and arrow notched, Shirou blinked at the rather unexpected turn of events.

Sakura was supposed to just say no, and run back to the house, then he would shoot the arrow at Zouken's feet to say that Sakura, and by extension him, meant business. He didn't quite expect that.

Nine and a Quarter Years Later

Shirou Emiya smiled as he greeted Sakura, Rin, and their rather stern guardian, Archer. It was virtually routine to have the Tohsaka girls and guardian barge in on his house in the early mornings, but one he appreciated.

Well, except for all the ribbing Big Sis Fuji and Rin gave him about Sakura being Shirou's wife. Even Archer-san smirked in amusement at his expense.

Sakura would just give a dainty little giggle, then began cooking breakfast for the household.

In his mind, Shirou had to admit that he wouldn't mind having Sakura for a wife. She had a great body and personality, and was very sweet to everyone.

Well, sweet to everyone but Shinji Matou, apparently anyway. Sakura, for all her rather chirpy and mildly upbeat personality,, it was particularly jarring when her mood makes a sudden 180 turn whenever she encounters Shinji. It doesn't quite help that the two were very antagonistic towards each other, and would get on rather lengthy, and if some of his classmates and Rin are to be believed, epic pissing matches over something he didn't quite understand.

Worse still when both are present at the Archery Club. Then the general members weren't sure if the two were going to notch an arrow at the target, or at each other.

But overall, Shirou had to admit, with a small blush on his cheeks, that he wouldn't mind having Sakura as a wife.

Unnoticed, Archer gave Rin a smirk, to which she just grumbled, and slipped him a few bills of money.

Stupid horny Shirou, making her lose her bet.

With Archer teaching her, I imagine Sakura is quite good with that bow. I'd guess he taught Rin and Sakura his self-Reinforcement technique that he uses to boost his strength and eyesight, so Sakura can probably out-shoot anyone who's not Archer.

Imagine Shinji's reaction to the new member of the club out-shooting him on her first day there. That, coupled with the memory of that groin attack, is probably what kicked off their rivalry...er, mutual-hate-thing, since rivals typically want to surpass each other, not see each other die in a fire.

Oh, and may I say I'd very much like to see one of these epic Sakura vs. Shinji moments? I can imagine Sakura using Passive Aggressive Kombat on Shinji while he seethes over being unable to just punch her in public. :snigger:

Oh man, is Sakura going to be curvier than Rin then? That has to play hell with her older sister.

I thought this whole Rin and Sakura summon Archer while still Lolis story was based on a doujin, I think I remember reading the first chapter somewhere on the internet once... I think it was Gakuland.

I know I've seen pictures of it, as well as ones with little kid Shirou with saber.

But I didn't know it was a full doujin.

I can't find a link, but the doujin is called 'Childcare is War'.

And yes, that was what originally inspired me. Then the thought of Sakura being a badass Action Lady just turned that idea on its head.

EDIT:

@MutantRancor: And who said that Sakura is passive aggressive whenever she and Shinji butt heads?

Well, she's a pretty damn good Archer even in canon, and given that Rin is actually considerably better at self-reinforcement (in the game) than Shirou is, I'd imagine that, with Archer training them, they'd be at or even above Archer's level in that respect. So, yeah, I can't imagine many people defeating her.

Well, I'd imagine that Zouken is seriously pissed at her (and the Tohsaka family in general), which he probably passed down to Shinji. Also, he probably told him that Sakura was "his", or something. That, plus the (rather undeserved, if I'm honest) groin-kicking, probably explains it. As for Sakura's attitude to Shinji, I would imagine that Archer told her what Shinji was like in his timeline.

You don't know girls that well, do you Cherry Lover?

We're petty and self conscious. Rin has gorgeous legs, but lacking in the breast area. Girls, no matter who they are, are self conscious about their breasts. Very few girls are happy with their busts. We generally want them bigger and in rare cases smaller.

And we don't know if Sakura's hour glass figure was from the worm tampering or not. Aoi wasn't exactly stacked from what I remember. Rin's not and from the future sketch of her she'll never be (I think she's pretty much perfect, IMHO, but that's my physical type for girls: slim, muscular and athletic without too much of a chest. Rider, Aoko, Bazett, Luvia and Arc are almost pushing it for me.) Or Sakura could be the Va-va-voom girl in the family.

So Sakura's badonk adonk would make Rin jealous and self conscious.

@ Jomasten: How better to tear him a new one in such a way that he can't do anything about it? (In public, verbally, I mean. And it does fit better with her personality than just flat-out getting into a fistfight.)

@ Cherry_Lover: Better than Looping!Archer? Not likely. After all, he's had as much time as he wants to practice.

@ Elf: All the girls I know (admittedly, not a lot, as I'm something of a recluse) seem more concerned with their waistlines than their bust lines. Except for the one who has a great body, but hides it under a baggy sweatshirt whenever there's any chance of anyone else seeing it...but she hardly qualifies as "normal" anyway, considering it's near-impossible to make her say more than one sentence at a time and I'm ninety-some percent sure she doesn't wear any makeup (which I take as a sign she's dropped that whole "competing to see who can look best" thing you allude to).
----
Anyway, a snippet!

Shirou groaned and slowly peeled his eyes open. He'd just died, just gotten to his first kiss with Arturia in over a decade, and he was summoned again?

"Hey, hey, Pervy Sage, I thought you said this was the frog contract. That doesn't look like a frog to me!"

Shirou slowly sat up and looked around. Why did he feel like he had been sucked through a drinking straw? And why was some kid in an orange suit poking him with a stick?
----
The Hill Of Swords!Shirou has the misfortune of entering the time loops through a Naruto-verse Fused Loop immediately after the story ends, being summoned by yet another kid who's constantly in over his head.

Yeah, but it doesn't seem to bother Rin in canon, so why would it bother her here?

And we don't know if Sakura's hour glass figure was from the worm tampering or not.
I can't see any reason why what Zouken did to her with the worms would affect her figure in any way, though, so I would assume not.

Aoi wasn't exactly stacked from what I remember.á Rin's not and from the future sketch of her she'll never be
Yeah, but just because Aoi isn't, that doesn't automatically mean that her children won't be. We simply don't have enough information about their genetics to say that Sakura couldn't have big breasts.

(I think she's pretty much perfect, IMHO, but that's my physical type for girls: slim, muscular and athletic without too much of a chest. Rider, Aoko, Bazett, Luvia and Arc are almost pushing it for me.)
Well, I personally like Sakura's breasts (they're big, but not ridiculously so). Also, I'm pretty sure that Rider, at least, has larger breasts than Sakura.

Also, I'd imagine that Sakura in this would be a little slimmer, and substantially more muscular and athletic (probably as much so as Rin), since Archer has been training her (and, presumably, she's been having the same martial arts etc. training as Rin).

So Sakura's badonk adonk would make Rin jealous and self conscious.
Well, perhaps, but if that is the case, then why isn't she jealous of Sakura's breasts in canon (in HA, at least...)?

MutantRancor said:

Well, the thing is, there is only so far that repeated practice can take you if you lack the natural talent. I could practice kicking a ball through the (rugby) posts every spare second that I have for 1000 years, and I'd still never be good enough to kick for England, because I just lack the talent. The same applies to Shirou when compared to the Tohsaka girls.

Archer may well have gotten the best that he possibly can get out of his abilities, but Rin and Sakura could probably surpass him if they used even a tenth of theirs, especially with Sakura still a Tohsaka (and never being corrupted by Zouken). They're so far ahead of him in terms of natural talent that it would only take a few years of training (if that) for them to do better than he could do after an eternity of practice.

@ Elf: All the girls I know (admittedly, not a lot, as I'm something of a recluse) seem more concerned with their waistlines than their bust lines. Well, Sakura in canon actually fits that description pretty well. She's convinced that she's "overweight" (even though she's pretty average), and further she doesn't exactly flaunt her "assets", wearing loose, conservative clothes all the time.

Well, whatever fancies the readers, I guess.

I'll stop referring to the past as 'current', and instead refer that as flashbacks.

Or should I stick to as is?

Question: who is the most probably Goddess, AMG and mythology-wise, to manage the Counter Force and the Counter Guardians?

***

For all the hundreds, if not thousands, of lifetimes that Archer AKA, Emiya Shirou, has lived, one quality had persevered alongside him: his love of housework, especially cooking.

When he lost himself to cooking, he could remember to a less complicated life, where he didn't have to worry about repeating the same thing over and over, where he could laugh and cry with all his simple problems or jokes.

He knew that once these Loops end, he would be hard pressed to return to such a lifestyle, especially when the adorable representative of the Counter Force told him, once he is free of the Loops, he would also be free from his tenure as a Counter Guardian. He would be happy and relieved to hear that, if Counter-ko hadn't added that his contract would end because he would ascend to a higher Existence. Meaning, he would become a god.

Shirou was not sure how well this would sit with him.

So deep was he in his thoughts that he nearly jumped at a quiet voice giving a low, stead whisper of 'jiiiiiiiiiiii...'.

He smiled in affection, then made a noise, eliciting a squeak from his little audience, "You know, you don't have to stand by the doorway." He peeked over his shoulder, and smiled at the top of black hair, and a tiny and shy face looking over the doorway. Said face squeaked, then hid her form further behind the door.

(Shirou had to admit to himself that he still was not used to Sakura having black hair, still remembering her rather exotic purple hair.)

Archer chuckled, then called out, "Come on over, Sakura-chan. I know you want to help."

It was amazing how a little girl who managed to muster enough courage to kick Makiri Zouken and his grandson down as a form of saying 'no', was so shy approaching her guardian when he is cooking.

She made a little whimper of embarrassment, then slowly padded over to stop at Archer's side.

Arhcer smiled, then grabbed a small sample dish, putting a bit of his cooking onto it, then handed it to Sakura, "Here, see if you like it."

Sakura took the sample dish with her two hands, made a rather adorable face as she blew the steam away, then took a tentative taste.

Archer's smile went to a full-blown grin as Sakura's expression brightened.

He put a hand on top of Sakura's head, then gave her an affectionate ruffle of her hair, making her giggle.

It was that day that Archer began teaching Sakura in earnest how to cook.

Present

Sakura hummed a small melody she randomly thought up, then blinked and giggled when a certain memory filtered into her mind, making her smile wider in remembrance.

"Why do you always smile when you cook?" she remembered asking Archer that question.

"Because I like to look at the happy faces of those I'm cooking for." Had been his answer.

Sakura wasn't sure why the memory came up, but it made her smile in fond remembrance.

And, on introspection, she discovered herself echoing those very same words Archer said.

She giggled again, then continued her humming, content that she was making the people that she cared about and loved happy.

*****

EDIT: Fixed a small nitpick, as well as added a detail to be sure.

One minor nitpick: as I understand it, Sakura's hair and eyes turning purple were a result of the worms. Without them, wouldn't she have the same hair color as Rin?

Personally, I'm finding these recent loops rather lacklustre in comparison to some of the original ones.

The Twisted!Shirou and Saber Alter ones.

Sorry if mine's not great; I just started the game and haven't even finished the Fate route yet, so all my information is coming from the anime (which I haven't seen for at least a year), TV Tropes, and a few fan fictions. (Thus why I pulled Shirou from The Hill Of Swords rather than canon Shirou from any route.)
