The Shirou in it isn't actually Shirou, and everyone else (save Bazett) are figments.

What do you mean by "Shirou"?

And wasn't there two Rin's or something?

Eh? What?

The world that they're in in HA is the exact opposite of a "crapsack world"....

So, a world in which some random guy get's forced into a position he didn;t want as the source of evil, and when he finally get's free and learns to love people again, he get's sent back to an endless void?

Oh yes, nothing crapsack about that <_<

Nine Years Ago

EMIYA had nowhere he needed to be. Well, nothing in particular. Little Sakura was off having a small nap after her lessons with him. He wasn't sure where Rin was accounted for, until he heard the tell-tale noise of an explosion coming from one of the rooms in the second floor of the mansion.

Running towards the noise, he suddenly kicked the door down, a sword in mind, ready to be traced. He blinked as he took in the scene.

The room was primarily bare, except with a bookshelf off at the far side, and a desk beside it. Standing in the middle, though slightly scorched, was a magic circle, with a soot-covered Rin looked equally shocked and embarrassed.

EMIYA blinked. Rin blinked.

EMIYA chuckled. Rin pouted.

Later

EMIYA was still chucking, even as he stood just outside the bathroom door, while Rin was finishing up her bath inside, sulking.

"Its not that funny..." Rin mumbled, though loud enough for for Archer to hear through the door.

Archer stopped laughing long enough to give an amused retort, "Yes it is."

The door finally opened, and out came rin, with a clean set of clothes, and a towel on her head, her hair still damp. She was still scowling, "I just don't get what went wrong. I thought I got that right." She started walking towards the kitchen, intent on getting a snack. Archer walked alongside her.

Tilting his head slightly, Archer replied, "Well, two things: you were missing some margins in your circle, and your incantation was off as well."

Rin gave him a look, to which he smiled innocently at.

"...Teach me?" Rin said, her voice slightly tinged with hopefulness.

Archer chuckled.

Present

Rin opened her eyes a bit, though did not break her slight concentration. For the most part, the spell she was using was just a minor wind levitation spell, which allowed her to actual juggle and twirl the chopstick she had in her hand. She blinked as the memory appeared in her mind.

The same spell she was using with ease now, was in fact the same spell she had attempted with difficulty so long ago. The same spell that Archer had caught her futzing.

Wondering why that memory came up, he turned towards Archer, where he was reading the newspaper, then towards Shirou, who was watching the news on TV. Sakura was happily humming in the kitchen, cooking. Taiga, meanwhile, was just finishing up some last minute teacher-stuff, and enthusiastically perked up at Sakura's announcement that food was ready, just as she set down the dish on the hotplate.

As Rin watched the going on around her, as Shirou and Taiga playfully bickered, Sakura giggling, and Archer smirking in amusement, she just had to admit to herself...

She wished this kind of days would never end.

She wished with all her might for it to be granted, even as a dark cloud was descending towards Fuyuki.

She wished that this peaceful days would stay, even as she felt it in her being...

That the Holy Grail War was about to start.

You shouldn't bother, although I do thank you for explaining why 'Shirou' wasn't Shirou.

Although, I do wonder if he was able to replicate Shirou's reality marble...

This is just too obvious to ignore... :sweat2:

This isn't "Shirou", this is EMIYA that is present in Jomasten's loops. EMIYA, aka Archer, who has gone through the motion of looping (and been in contact with his younger self) long enough to change back to a more hopeful mindset to some extent.

God, you're such a Stop Having Fun Guys type on top of being a complete canon Nazi.

I just dislike Slice of life, if I wanted to see everyday life, he'd sit in my living room and watch my family.

Slice of life is just too different from fate's normal setting and tone.

I can understand that. I only like "slice of life" in small dose myself, too much of it become boring fast. But do you HAVE to constantly flood the entire place with "Stop Having Fun Guys" vibes constantly ?

As big as your ego may be, your tastes are NOT absolute. Trying to forcefully impose your tastes on other people's is not only disrespectful, it also make you look like nothing but a nuisance.

Most of that stemmed from me arguing my point.

Oh, yeah, because the FSN characters just jump from one battle to another without ever spending time with their friends and family. And the cooking scenes and other "slice of life" scenes in FSN were just illusions that my mind invented because it couldn't cope with all the "awesome" battle scenes that followed one after another without a break....

Hmm, that gets me wondering. Have you actually ever seen anything from FSN other than the UBW movie? Because the way you're acting, it doesn't seem like it....

The original fate anime, and bit's of the game on Youtube.

But the Slice of life doesn't take up the entirety of Fate/Stay.

If there was one thing the time looper Shirou Emiya was certain of it was that in this loop the fifth grail war of this reality would be one of the strange ones.

The advanced attack helicopter Airwolf blasted mercilessly the forest where the Archer class servant, a veteran of the fourth grail war who openly flaunted his identity as Gilgamesh battled the enigmatic Berserker who in the would be revealed to be a demigod from the Greek pantheon.

"Do you think we got them, sempai?" the lavender-haired girl named Sakura Matou asked her red-haired lover.

Shirou frowned as he looked through the monitor readings. "I don't think so, Sakura-chan. Knowing who those two really are I don't think all those prana-enhanced missiles and guns we have now would put a proper dent on them."

The pilot swore something in Mycenaean Greek and other ancient languages as she made the vehicle evade a barrage of swords that began to detonate in the air. "I don't know about Heracles, but Gilgamesh is probably partially stunned or that attack would've hit us!" Rider concluded grimly and launched her last air-to-ground missile into where she was certain the sword shooter was.

"I think retreating is in order now," Sakura advised her Servant.

"Copy that," was the reply.

Airwolf streaked through the skies with speed and handling people would have considered impossible even for an advanced military helicopter, away from the raging battlefield and back towards the Emiya household.

To the servant going under the callsign Rider Airwolf certainly was no Pegasus but it was a decent piece of hi-tech machinery if you knew how to use it.

Shirou Emiya tried to hold on to his bound and gagged stepsister Ilya who struggled in his arms, wondering if Kitt would have been a better choice to bring from another wayward loop.

About time somebody did something for the awesome lolisauce, she's the character who should have been the third heroine!

Why does this admission not surprise me one bit...?

How the hell can you talk about the "normal setting and tone" of FSN when you've not even played it? Of course you're going to think that the whole thing is "dark" and action-packed, because those are probably the only scenes you've bothered to watch.

Out of interest, which endings have you seen? Are you aware, for instance, that Nasu actually wrote an ending to the Fate route that has Shirou meeting up with Saber in Avalon and living with her there? Hell, even I can't stomach that one. The only truly bad ending to FSN is the HF Normal end. All of the rest are remarkably upbeat. So, not only does the conclusion (that this story is too light-hearted) not follow from the premise (that FSN is a "dark" story), the premise isn't even right.

But the Slice of life doesn't take up the entirety of Fate/Stay.
No, and it's not going to take up the entirety of this loop, either, I'd imagine. Plus, the "slice of life" scenes here are considerably shorter than the ones in FSN are....

I knew about the Avalon ending, and I've seen mostly dead ends, I've tried downloading the game, but something usually get's in my way.

My computer is not made for playing games, its not got much internal memory.

Fate and UBW are top of my things to do when I get a new computer, because I can't deal with the damn thing slowing down any more then it already has.

Ilya whistled innocently enough as she turned on the record player that lay comfortably on the night table.

Sympathy For The Devil by the Rolling Stones began playing, filling the now darkened room with its tunes.

Shirou Emiya stared in horror at his stepsister who was beginning to undress in front of him. The red-haired Japanese young man would have run away if he wasn't tied spread-eagled on top of an Victorian-era bed, probably costing a small fortune, and stripped only to his underwear.

Illyasviel von Einzbern emitted a cute, girlish laughter honeyed with cruel venom. It had been so easy to lure her soft-hearted, soft-headed stepbrother to her castle while leaving his Servant at home; he never expected that she would restrain him and bring him to this room for her sinister purpose.

Shirou would have screamed if it wasn't for the fact that Berserker standing beside the bed had delicately (for Berserker) put a ball-gag on him when Ilya got irritated over him trying that the first time.

"Now where were we?" she mused mischievously. She was going to have so much fun with him in this loop...
