man, this thread keeps making me sad that Sailor Moon Abridged managed to get through the first season and then died, while there are so many Death Note abridged series, each one wicked in their own way, and only one ever managed to actually get completed.
It takes a lot of effort to make an abridged series, let alone a
good one.
You need to have someone who can do any video editing, or at least get video and audio to play right.
Then you need the equipment to record yourself and filter out background noise.
Then you have to figure out an entertaining script for each episode.
Then you need to do the actual voice acting, which really isn't easy. And if you aren't doing it all by yourself then you need to keep the team on board, because it's easy for people to drift away from internet projects.
Then you have to endure all the times that bots take your videos down and sometimes even your channel, which sites like YouTube usually do jack to stop.
And of course all of this is in addition to your daily life since you're not going to be able to turn abridging into a career.
Take all that and it's easy to see why most never get past maybe episode 5 at best. Of course that's often for the best since most abridged series, quite frankly,
suck. TeamFourStar, CardGamesFTW, SMA etc. are really exceptions to the rule.
Even more sad though, is when the series just disappears. I'm pretty sure there were at least a couple that I just can't remember now that showed promise but got taken down in the early days of abridging.
