Harry Potter Finding The Power

Harry pulled the hood of his cloak up and over his head and darkening the lenses of his glasses with a wave of his hand.

He'd never expected for his life to shift so much, never expected to actually have someone who would take the time to explain things.

Hell, he hadn't even believed in aliens, much less alien wizards, but a chance encounter with a bored alien had ended up changing everything.

Sure, the self proclaimed emperor of evil could be described as evil, but considering everything else, he wasn't sure if he actually cared anymore.

Hermione was trying to protect him, and, well, Ron seemed more interested in his christmas gift than in actually having any sort of talk beyond Quidditch. Anyone else he might have considered had left for the holidays, and going to the teachers to talk when they were still hiding things from him just wouldn't cut it.

Of course, the incredulous looks he got from people asking him where he was about the truth was something that did brighten his day. Who would believe him that he'd spent the afternoon when the rest were at Hogsmead on the moon playing chess with Zedd in the back of a flying camper?

Hell, with what Zedd gave him, he was happier than he had been in months. No need to mediate the running war between Ron and Hermione over their pets and a bit of peace.

He was offered a way to test out the somewhat belated christmas gifts from Zedd, and for some reason the chance to pound a few robots of this Machine Empire sounded like it could be cathartic, after all, Zedd had already proven that magic done on the moon couldn't be detected on Earth, at least not by the ministry, so there really was nothing to stop him.

Besides, the staff Zedd had gotten him from Finster just needed to be tested, not to mention the putties he'd gotten, leftovers from before Rito, or that idiot according to his friend, had given the man a replacement for.

Not to mention that putties were apparently easier for him to control due to his own skills.

xXx

Anyway, that's the beginning of the idea with a bit of fleshing out after the discussion in the other thread.

The timeline has Zedd meeting Harry during book three, just after the Marge incident, and during Zeo for Zedd.

This tickled something something in me. I'm thinking it was my nostalgia, and I would love to see more of this. Interactions between Zedd and Harry, and perhaps Rita, also how did Harry get on the flippin' moon?

Harry also needs to make his own monster, and keep it as a pet.

For how he gets to the moon, well, Zedd can do it for him until he manages to teach Harry how to do it himself.

Of course, in the power rangers universe, the moon doesn't require pressure suits after Rita wakes up as the only time you actually see anyone wearing any kind of space protection while there is the two astronauts who release Rita the first time.

Hmmm...for monsters...

I have the oddest idea about a horde of giant Monster Book of Monsters rampaging through London

...that is being chased by Hagrid, who is begging people to not hurt 'Bookie'.

:unsure!:

I'm not sure I want to know what the results of a meeting between Finster and Hagrid would be.

I think Harry learning from Finster could have possibilities. As far as I remember, Finster just used normal clay to sculpt, what if Harry could add in a few extra ingredients, various magical creature parts and potion ingredients like dragons blood.

Actually, the series did use a few other things. Using more than the clay reduced what could be made due to the way the machine worked and it nearly overloaded when making the super putties.

Is this Lord Zedd the early S2 Zedd or the post-marriage joke?
He said it's during Zeo, so yes, it is the married Zedd.

He said this is based around Zeo, so it's the dumb down version.
You do realise that when he got married Zedd accomplished more than he did unmarried against the rangers?

Plus, to the next person who calls married Zedd "Dumbed down" go look at the "Changing of the Zords" episodes. Thats enough evidence right there.

I think what it is, is that after he got married Zedd wasn't nearly as...frightening a figure. Even if he did take a few levels in competence.

what about the rangers? Or the Machine empire for that matter. Surely one of them will notice Zedd or Harry teleporting to and from the moon Or the fact that a teenage boy is leading around a bunch of putties

I think if the wizarding world is hidden from the rangers, a wizard leading puddies around won't be so easily noticed as long as he doesn't attack the muggle world. And the Machine empire probably doesn't care what Zedd and Rita do.

I'm really hoping for something good here. I read a Power Ranger/Harry Potter crossover not to long ago. It wasn't finished, but I liked it. This needs to happen. This. Right here, right now.

Actually, Zedd and Ritas teleported a few times during Zeo without being detected. The machine empire doesn't know that they're still on the moon until near the end of the series (leading up to them building a bomb to blow up the leaders of the Empire...)

For the Rangers, When on Earth, Harry is pretty much on the opposite side of the planet and not doing anything to create a mess, and Zordon doesn't seem able to easily monitor the moon (Apparently Rita set up a jamming device or something that kept on working, or perhaps the later villains did the same).

Wasn't trying for that, apparently their marriage ends sometime later on after Space due to Zedd finding a time crystal and getting corrupted by his earlier self in Super Legends before getting trapped outside of time by the end of the game.

With the bit I wrote was more to do with Zedd being aggravated by being stuck in a small space with Rita and the idiots she'd brought with her.

For a second I though you meant Zodd from Berserk. You can not imagine my rage after I realized it wasn't Zodd.

Of all the magic that he'd learned from Zedd, most were directly suitable for combat, most of the rest were interesting in their own account.

However, none of them were things that could directly conceal his identity, and Harry really didn't want to risk having a legion of Cogs pop up at Hogwarts with Quadrafighters.

Much less one of their stronger minions, although Hagrid might find the idea appealing.

But with the limits of his current skills, he'd gone for a more mundane approach with a cloak and a higher collar than usual. It combined surprisingly well with a simple charm that shifted his glasses color while still retaining their utility.

Nothing really special, nor anything that would really be detectable.

Adding the invisibility cloak to complete things was only really helpful by keeping it where he could pull it out to vanish if need be.

Cogs didn't forget things, and using Earth based magic would definitely stand out among the patrols around the small fortress Mondo had built.

So, the only magic he would be directly using would be the magic that he'd learned from his mentor, and even then sparingly.

The four Cogs he was watching from the relative safety and cover the rocks above them would be an adequate test for his abilities and should be easy enough to deal with quickly.

However, he went for the simplest way to start the fight and pushed the boulders...
