CURSES! I wanted to be the one to make THAT announcement.
I've got the original GBA version, AND have all cards and Level 99 Sora AND Riku! I'm badass, huh?
I can't wait for this! But...if Osment is voicing Sora...How'll they handle the fact his voice changed between KH1(which this game takes place RIGHT after) and KH2's production? THAT'll be tough to do...
Also, who'll be voicing Zexion, Marluxia, Vexen, Larxene, and Marluxia?

You mentioned Marluxia twice. I think one of those was meant to be Lexaeus.

And I have no idea about the VAs, though I really hope that the voices do the characters justice.

...

Yays for more Larxene exposure!
Dammit Chibi-Mamoru, stop doing that!

I R NINJ4!!!

:ph43r:

Anyway, decided to feed my Zelda obsession for the first time in about a year, and decided to look up the Zelda comics/manga (there have been three different versions of A Link to the Past; two manga and one Western comic, BTW). What I found instead was this: The Mario Marathon. These people play the entire Mario series, aimimg to do it in "x" amount of time. Usually, over a weekend.

That's right: these guys played 7 games in 55 hours NON-STOP.

And they ended up raising over $10,000 for Child's Play.

This, my comrades, earns them at least as many internets and catgirls as they raised dollars.

Also, I found some guys who decided to do the same thing for Zelda. They actually inspired the Mario crew a while back, with their original Four48 crew (four 3-D Zelda games in 48 hours). The Link *snerk* is here. Even though they finished in early August, drop by and tell them how <s>lame</s> awesome they are for raising $2,000 of their own for Child's Play.

Heresy Mansion House
I'm slightly less than optimistic about how well this is going to be handled.
Me, I'm just hoping that it's an early, and overly literal translation.

After all, Heretic Mansion is, IIRC, perfectly valid for the Jakyous.
Except it is Heretic Mansion House, not just Heretic Mansion. If it was just Heretic Mansion, that would be cool.

Fuck You ActiBlizzard. Fuck You.

I can understand cuts. That's fine. They'll find another studio/publisher/whatever.

But cutting Brutal Legend and Ghostbusters... and keeping SPYRO!?

What. The. Fuck.

Nooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!

[/Vader]

Dear God. That is the most retarded idea ever. Ghostbusters is a guarenteed hit, and Brutal Legend at the LEAST is a cult hit in the making.

Spyro? A washed up, second rate platformer whose best recent game was on the DS.

UWEE-HEE-HEE-HEEEEEEE!!!

[/Kefka]

The Dissidia: Final Fantasy website has updated again. Three new movies have been posted--two from the DK{Sigma}3713 event a while back, showing Tidus fighting Jecht and Onion Knight owning the Cloud of Darkness, and a video of Garland laying the smack down on Warrior of Light.

Much more interesting though is the updated character list. The scroll wheel on the bottom has been filled in (i.e. FFs I-X are now represented) and FFIV has been unlocked. As obvious, the participants from FFIV are Cecil and Golbez. And yes, the screen shots do show Dark Knight!Cecil. ^_^

Nice.

:cumdrool:

Very nice. Though I'm still wondering who they're gonna pick to represent FFVI (Yes I already know about Kefka).

My money's on Tetra. All of the "Same game" characters have a storyline rival on the other side, and the only FFVI choices to go against Kefka are Terra and Celes. Of those two, Terra has a larger importance (relatively speaking) to the story of FFVI--she's the focus of the first half, after all.

EDIT: Personally though, I want Locke.

Cecil: So... a war between two Gods... Cosmos and Chaos...

Locke: Huh... wonder if there's treasure here.

Cloud: I KNEW it! You are a thief!

Locke: Call me treasure hunter or I'll rip your lungs out!

Plus, Terra has the Esper form...which I'd like to see made all digital and stuff.

PSP:

Neverland card battles, Tom Clancy's Endwar, Star Ocean First Departure and Second Evolution.

PS2:

Persona 4, Dynasty Warriors 6, Kingdom Hearts RE; Chains of Memories and Gundam Musou 2 (JPN).

I'm right now in a part-time working blitz to save up money to buy all these games. Now if there's some drug that can make me for go sleep and food complete...

Meh, I'd say don't waste your money on Dynasty Warriors 6. I've bought basically all Dynasty/Samurai warriors games since DW3, and I found 6 to be just awful.

Only a fraction of the characters can be used for musou mode, and the biggest problem is the dumbing down of the battle system. For so long, DW games have been critisized for being nothing more then "press square", DW6 made this a reality. the combat is made up of 2 attack chains:the square attack chain, and the triangle attack chain. none of the special attacks that follow certain numbers of square hits of the old system. All old chains are gone in favor of their "renbu" system, which having a higher level just means your attack chains go on longer. However, if you aren't attacking enemies, it goes down, so if you need to cross the map for something, then unless you have some certain abilities, then it is going to be completely gone by the time you get there.

I simply saw it in a list of upcoming releases on ign. previously, it had been listed as early December, but it has since been pushed back to TBA 2009. Wether it is the most reliable information or not, I've no idea, but that's simply where I saw it from.

Okay, the day's Kotaku round down ('cause this is all news from right now to yesterday. Get it?)

Firstly, Professor Layton 3 looks amazing. Professor Layton is number 1 on my "Games that need anime adaptations" list. It would just work so well! Keep the puzzles in, though with less "Hey, I want you to solve this puzzle; if you do I'll give you a pointless clue," and more "Aha! A secret note in code! Help me solve this, Luke."

Second, Square-Enix is hauling out the big guns for the Tokyo Games Show. E3 what, again? For those of you who care, Star Ocean 4 will be playable, though Dragon Quest IX and Final Fantasy XIII will not.

Next, what's Konami taking to TGS? Oh wait, that Castlevania fighting game wasn't a joke... But hey! New Suikoden for the DS!

Lastly, the DS might be getting the next Pikmin game. I don't know who cares, but it is interesting news.

Ah.

I saw the ign.com date brought up on some other forum, and they concluded that IGN was full of it, since everybody else was still showing December 2008, and IGN also had a history of getting release dates wrong.

Ladies and gentlemen, the DSi is here. Actually, I kinda like this one... Oh wait, no GBA slot. I might pass on this.

Speaking of Nintendo, here's the Japanese fall release list. Trace Memory/Another Code on the Wii? Interesting... too bad the Haruhi game will never make it here.

Fallout 3: DRM Free. Very nice marketing touch Bethseda. Go for the lowest common denominator, the people who hate DRM. Hopefully this convinces some of the pirates to buy the game legally.

And... I'm back with the news!

First up, and most interesting: Spider Man to invade Metroidvania. What? A decent Spider Man game on a portable?

Second, from the makers of Odin Sphere comes a Wii game about ninjas and stuff. Actually looks pretty good, but I think it's do better on PS2. Oh, and this game supposedly plays like Odin Sphere too, so it really should be on the PS2. Dammit.

Next up: A "Tales of" game that might actually stay on one console. A series first.

Mirror's Edge still looks awesome.

And finally: Dragon Ball (the good one) finally gets some love.

Feel free to post your news, eh?

EDIT: o_O Well, so much for that. In response to all sorts of crap going down on his blog, the Persona 2 IS translation project is officially delayed. No word on if/when the patch will come.

EDIT2: Hell yes. Dissidia roster update: why, hello there, Bartz, Exdeath. It's been a while, how are you guys?
