That's Nero, not Dante.

Seems he finally got his pubes.

He apparently had a run in with Rocket Racoon at some point between DMC 4 and 5.

I really wish we had more news about Elder Scrolls 6. The only confirmed bit seems to be that the game is in development. Besides that, all I'm finding is speculation.

Bethesda's new game - Starfield too, has my curiosity. But without more details, I'm not sure what to make of it.

That's not surprising considering Starfield probably won't launch for another 3 years, and ES6 is probably 6+ years away.

Generally speaking, you don't shoot yourself in the foot by info dumping a bunch about titles in the distant future right before you release a major title.

They don't want the press to be all about Starfield and ES6 with FO76 coming out shortly. Which is exactly what would happen if they info dumped a lot about it, especially considering the reaction FO76 seems to have gotten.

Overall, people seem pretty underwhelmed, uncertain, and cautious regarding it.

I'll be really surprised if ES6 is 6+ years away. Likewise with Starfield. There is an interview with one of the Bethesda big-wigs from 2016, where he says that as a rule-of-thumb, Bethesda tries NOT to stretch the gap between announcing a game and actually releasing it. The examples he gave back then were Skyrim being released 1 year after it's announcement and Fallout 4 being released within 6 months after it's first announcement.

You are correct on one thing - I am cautious about it. :)

Skyrim's "teaser" was considerably more. What they released for ES VI barely qualifies as a teaser at all, it's purpose seemed to be more "Yes, we're working on it, so stop asking" than anything else. It wasn't really a proper announcement in the manner you seem to be suggesting.

They tend to release a new flagship "Bethesda Studios" game every 3-4 years.

Morrowind 2002

Oblivion 2006

Fallout 3 2008

Skyrim 2011

Fallout 4 2015

Fallout 76 2018

So...

Starfield 2021, probably 2020 at best.

ES VI, somewhere between 2022-2024

I'm pretty sure they only teased ES VI to shut people up about it.

I'm almost positive they aren't going to release Starfield and a new ES game anywhere near each other. Releasing them too close to each other will hurt sales of both. The absolute best case scenario is Starfield in 2020, and ES VI in 2021, and I doubt that will happen.

I hate the fact that I agree with you. i.e. unless the gameplay is drastically different, Bethesda is not going to release Starfield and ES6 within 11 months of each other. But .. -sigh- .. I keep dreaming on and wishing _so_ badly for them to release Elder Scrolls 6.

Fans of Life is Strange take note.

The Awesome Adventures of Captain Spirit just dropped on Steam, and it's free.

The game takes place in the same universe as Life is Strange, and acts as a bridge between LiS and its sequel.

So with the advent of Steam Linux's "Steam Play" via proton, I've completely swapped from Windows to Linux, since gaming was the last thing holding me back. Between Lutris for non-steam games and Steam Play for steam games, basically my entire library works.

THAT SAID, do NOT think this is a viable path if you've never used linux before. I've been fucking with this for the past 2 days to get this to work, it is NOT a plug and play experience, you need some deep linux knowledge to get this stuff to stop breaking horrifically.

But dammit, it's such a huge step forward.

@Shirotsume ... what are you talking about? I've installed steam on ubuntu before and, while it isn't as easy as windows - it's not the nightmare that it was before.

Having said that, after a re-install, I find myself just rebooting into windows just for steam. Sure, I can run it in ubuntu, but I'm too used to windows and it's odd quirks to deal with steam on ubuntu. Hmm.. actually, I don't I ever had a real problem with steam on ubuntu. It was just annoying to see it pop-up on start-up and I was just too lazy to dig in to switch it off.

Steam recently released a beta feature that allows you to play Windows games on Linux computers. It's in beta and from what I've heard compatability for games varries depending on what type of Linux you're running and what drivers you have, but it seems like Shirotsume has managed to fix any problems that occured for his system with some tinkering.

Games that were already developed for Linux on Steam shouldn't be affected, and I'm pretty sure you have to opt into this feature to get it since it's still in beta.

Correct.

Microsoft's bringing some of it's exclusives to Steam
Recore: Definitive Edition, Disneyland Adventures, Rush: A Disney-Pixar Adventure, Super Lucky’s Tale, and Zoo Tycoon: Ultimate Animal Collection all hit Steam Sept. 14
Neat. I might check out Super Lucky's Tale.

I have the original for Oculus Rift and it is a neat, if basic, for a platformer outside of the VR element. It doesn't stand out a whole lot among 3D platformers, but does everything it needs to well.

This one isn't VR, but the original was a cute and serviceable 3D platformer, and I've heard the second is better than the first. It may actually have support for Vive and Windows Mixed Reality on PC release or shortly after. The developer said that while the original release wasn't VR due to Xbone not having a VR device, it was developed to be "VR friendly", so it should be easy to add an option for it.

The creators of Shovel Knight have announced a new multi-player battle mode.

no analog joystick, no AC adapter, $100 for 20 games, and so far FFVII is the only one that looks decent out of them. Also Wild Arms was one of the announcements. They lead with Wild Arms of all fucking things.

MGS better be on that thing.

Do not disrespect Ridge Racer R4, that game is a legend.

MGS should be a given, it was heralded far and wide back in the day.

I'm personally hoping Vagrant story makes it, as does SoTN.

I wouldn't be terribly surprised if MGS wasn't on it- The PS classic can't play pachinko after all.

Laaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaate.

As in, that already exists. Sega just caught up to the Latin American releases.
It's by the same company they have farmed it out to several times now. It's...not known for being as high quality as the nes/snes classic mini.
According to ANN (the most recent This Week In Games article), Sega is working directly with the Japanese software developers on the Genesis Mini, not the company that produces the crappy plug-and-play Genesis systems. It's also been delayed to 2019.
