I'll have to second OniGanon. You would might liek Sins of the Solar Empire, very vast Strat game, only downside is the skirmishes can last a while, but the good thing is, you can always save it, you can even save LAN games. Which is awesome.

You might also like Supreme Commander or SC: Forged Alliance, that is a very fun strat game too, you can have a maximum of 8000 units on one map (8 players, 1000 units each, EPIC) But it's very CPU intensive. So if ya have anything less than a 2.4 dual core, I wouldn't recommend playing.

But I would say check em out. I know I have fun playin them.

Games I'm waiting for:

DDR X
Beatmania IIDX 16: Empress
Left for Dead
[avatar status=hidden]Forged Alliance is all kinds of awesome. I am in no way biased.[/avatar status]

Sins is cool. I can't stand playing it, but that's because I don't like the way unit control works. Saving LAN games though, is freaking awesome and I love it.

Ha... oh wow, I am out of the loop. I had been paying attention to this three or four months ago, but at the time it seemed no one was going to port it so I ended up writing it off as "not going to happen."

Oh, well, I don't have my 360 at the moment, but I could play on my roommates; nah, that would be rude.

EDIT: well, thanks for the heads up, even if it wasn't really directed at me.

Pointless dribble is pointless. I know I am something of a fan of the series but still... I need to not go on rants.
Hah, well, the only reason I know is this topic made me go look at games that have release dates soon. :p

You know, it is really sad when your gamelist is more of a wish I could play.

Really disappointed in the market lately.
I am looking forward the next Total War, assuming my machine will be able to run it. Really looking foward to it. Would love to see an upgraded imperialism.

Ya know, it is sad when you start thinking that games that are years old, or even decades old are far more complex, concept wise, that the crap the big name companies are pushing these days.

so lets add something to the wishlist:
Strategy game, large scope, space based, space opera concept (that means bigg ass space battles with hundreds of units), ship design, turn base... real time.... don't really care. 4x too, and with a solid diplomatic System. A true heir to Master of Orion, that is not the Bureaucracy simulator.

Lesse, maybe something RPG wise, not sure what... not too many pics these days. I'll probably give the elderscrols fallout a try (the demo, maybe)
Dunno...

I am open to suggestions.
Space Empires V is just what you're looking for.

I'm limited on how many games I can buy since I'm saving up for a new computer, so the backlog on what I have to get isn't really moving very fast. Picked up Persona 3 FES today though.

I can't wait for my new computer so I can play Warhammer Online though.

2. Red Alert III

Drool. Drool.
I'd might be a little bit wary about getting Red Alert III Shade.

It's been said that Red Alert will have the the same FANTASTIC </sarcasm> DRM that spore has...

BUT!

They throw us a bone, instead of 3 installations. YOU GET 5!!!!!111oneoneone

*sigh* goddamnit EA

Although I will agree with ya on Starcraft II

Also on that note: Diablo III

 What the... 5 installs... :headbanger: :headbanger: :headbanger:

Excuse me, I need to find the person that came up with that particular DRM and shoot him or her.

...what's wrong with Spore? I've been planning on getting it for awhile, so if there's some sort of problem with it, I'd like to know beforehand...

DRM: Limited number of installs before you have to REBUY the game if you have to install it again.

Mass Effect for the PC, Spore, and RA3 have this function in them. Though it seems that ME and Spore are limited to 3 installs, while RA3 will have 5 install limits.

...that...is pretty messed up. Guess I'll have to do my best to make sure I don't need to re-install it more than absolutely necessary. Hopefully, this doesn't become widespread amongst new PC games...

While you do that, don't forget that the type of DRM they use, SecurROM,
has been known to ruin hard-drives.

Happy pwning :D

Lol, this is such a clear case of promoting piracy.

Pirated copies of the game don't have DRM protection. Pirating the game makes for easier installations and (occasionally) a lesser risk of virus infection.
That's what I mean :) Giving the game such retarded 'protections' when I pay for it, when I could just download it for free in the first place and not have to bother with them is incredibly short-sighted on their part.

You know that if you own a copy of the game, even if you've never taken it out of the box, then you can't even get in trouble for having a pirated copy? Don't distribute it, and they can't touch you. So if you really don't want to have to screw with the protections, find a pirated copy and then buy the real one and leave it in the box.

Not sure if that works with torrents, but as long as you don't distribute the torrent itself, you might be safe.

Usually the line I see thrown around is a copy is only legal if you made it yourself, which is why ROMs are illegal.

Of course, some people would have me believe that any copies whatsoever are illegal. What RIAA?

Meh, it seems that Ar Tonelico 2 has been pushed back, now scheduled for TBA 2009 instead of December.

And in today's issue of VGN (Video Game News is brought to you today by Kotaku!), people really really hate Spore's DRM protections.

"No shit", you say?

Well, the hate now has an out, with the DRM Spore Creatures. Personal favorite: the EA Sux.

Also today: are you Still Alive? 'Cause that song just got even cooler. Impossible, you say? That's what I thought. I've learned my lesson.

Other things of interest: WoW has only cost $200 million since it's launch (TOTAL!!!), each Nintendo employee creates 1.6 million dollars in profit for the company, and Guitar Hero will never just die.

On a side note, Yggdra Union is out today.

Torrents work off of decentralized distribution. If you're downloading it, you're uploading it.

Also, game companies almost always include a no-backups clause in the EULA, but I don't know how well those stand up in court.
