I should finally acquire Growlanser: Heritage of War sometime next week. Radiata Stories as well, though that one's a re-purchase after I accidentally totaled my old copy.

Sadly, Growlanser HoW seemed rather...lacking...compared to 2 and 3. It wasn't necessarily a horrible game, but I enjoyed 2 and 3 a lot more

The vids show some English voice over work already, so it seems likely.

**severely mocks all the Micro$oft fanboys who swore Eternal Sonata would be a Xbox exclusive**

Sorry, had to do it. All these months I heard Xfags bragging about how ES was 'ONLY ON ECKSBOCKS, BELIEVEITDURRR'... and now it gets ported on PS3, and I'm told it'll have some minor, but always nice extras.

I just HAVE to point and laugh. Very hard.
Were you also overjoyed to hear that Final Fantasy and Resident Evil 5 (both huge games that were supposed to be PS3 exclusives) are making their way to the 360, along with Star Ocean 4, etc?

I could see if Eternal Sonata were some sort of ubergame, but it was just an average JRPG, nothing more.

um...

I'd laugh more if I weren't still pissed about SO4 and Tales of Vesperia...damn it, will this anger against companies selling out never subside...
Hate to tell it to you you, but you got beaten to the punch by Sig, at least partly. The bit about RE5 is new, but it still amuses me that you are going "lol! I win!"

And yeah, GH's post is pretty petty and stupid, but he probably already knows, you know?

At least if he cares, I don't think he cares much for FF.

This platform crossing is good. It makes it more likely that the games will come to PC.

Why should I care about Final Fucktasy and Resident 'not scary at all' Evil?

In fact, if both series crash and burn, I'll party.

Just got DQ4, Diseaga DS is coming out, yayness. I'm horrible though, I have DQ4, FF4, FFTA2 and several other rpgs on my card, and haven't even touched them. I also have yet to beat Rune Factory.

Incidently, my sister just bought her flashcard, what are good DS games to play co-op or against live players?

Pirating is bad, mmm-kay.

As a rule, I only use roms to TRY a game before purchase. If I like a game, I buy it, if not, I delete it and no sleep lost over it. I think I owe it to a gaming company to buy good stuff they make...

That said, Puzzle Quest is fun.

Yu-gi-oh World Championship 2008, Trunky! You know you want to play that against her with the byplay getting typed into IRC for me to enjoy!

...Though admittedly you shouldn't be playing on the DS! You should be finding a fifth pirate for our D&D game! You can't leave all the work to me!

Out of curiosity, what server and room on IRC?

Yes, e-grandfather, it is. Unless its the IP of EA, then its justified for keeping the download.

#soulriders @ irc.procrast.net

It's the main chatroom (there's a couple of other sorta connected rooms in the server) for the Soulriders forum, which is primarily a roleplaying forum.

Most of the people in that room don't really talk about roleplaying stuff though, as a good number of the people are really friends from the old delphi fanfics forum or other fanfic related sites that just want to hang out and chat about random junk.

Have you made the jump to 4.0 or are you sticking to 3.0/3.5?

I wouldn't mind getting into a campaign if there's an opening, but it would depend on various factors. PM me if you want and we could talk about it.

Oh, we run games with whatever system any given DM wants to try and if he can then grab enough interested players.

We've had games of D&D using 2/3/3.5E, and currently the pirate game that Trunky and I are in is the first 4E game as we're testing it out to see how we feel about it (we -really- need a good free virtual tabletop for it...).

There's also been games with tristat systems, other d20s, exalted, HERO, and a few others as well, not to mention systemless/diceless games.

As far as I know, the only currently running campaign with openings is the D&D 4E pirate game, and we're running on saturday evenings, at 6pm pst.

I could be wrong though, and you can look through the forum (linked it in previous post) for more openings or ask for players for your own campaign.

*shrugs*

Off-hand, I'll say that tristat, D&D 3.5 and HERO seem the most favored systems with our pool of players though.

I don't think I can get my sister into Yugioh. And YOU were the one that said you knew people who might be interested!

But I'll help. We are indeed playing a pirate game, it is based on 4th. Part of it is mostly learning this new system, but our primary goal is to have fun. This is very hard not to do, I mean, we're pirates. SKY pirates. It runs every other Saturday night. We are only two sessions in, so if one decides to join they won't be missing much. I think we are looking for someone to play what 4th describes as a "leader" role, a warleader or a cleric. It will help our clumsy wizard and over eager rogue live longer.

I'm slightly less than optimistic about how well this is going to be handled.
Um...yeah, that doesn't look like it is too interesting, but then, I play Armored Core, so who am I to talk ^_^

But yeah... the most interesting aspect would probably be the usage of demons, but I couldn't make heads or tails of the interface in the gameplay footage. Plus, it is basically just pets, only I think you might be able to do more with them. I don't really know, I only played one MMO for a short while.

EDIT: I take that back, I understand it, I just don't know what anything means on the bottom bar.

Giant Robot Fans ITT. B)

But no, what scares me is literally the translation work they have on that page.
Devil Fusing Facility: Heresy Mansion House.
what.

Wow, I completely missed the weirdness of the name. However, yeah, that doesn't look too promising.

Me, I'm just hoping that it's an early, and overly literal translation.

After all, Heretic Mansion is, IIRC, perfectly valid for the Jakyous.
