According to reports, SP is supposed to release 14 new films along with the 6 new seasons, in a deal worth $900 million. I like South Park, but 14 new films sounds a bit much.

I initially thought it was just 14 movies written/directed by the SP creators, which could be something like Team America instead, but then when I went to read some more, it looks like it had to be specifically SP movies. Huh. Wow. I have to expect most of them will be direct-to-stream.

Most likely. There's even been talk of a new South Park game, in full 3D.

Watched the first season of Bojack Horseman. What a simultaneously hilarious and depressing show

And finished season 2 of Bojack Horseman. Bojack knows he's always making bad decisions, and yet cannot seem to stop making them.

Season 3 of Bojack Horseman. Maybe Bojack finally got a wake-up call there at the end of episode 11. Maybe not. We'll see, but I expect that to be the one, given that early in the episode, at an Alcoholics Anonymous meeting, one of the members says something to the effect that sometimes you don't choose to change, but are forced to change. The end of that episode...would very much be a 'forced to change' thing.

It occurred to me with season 2. And it's more obvious now. I have no idea what they were intending to do long-term with Diane. It feels like they intentionally turned her into a satire of Lisa Simpson, and I'm not sure how I feel about that. Diane felt like a serious character in season 1. Then while she has some legitimate problems going on in season 2 and season 3, a lot of things happen from that she cannot tone down with her activism. It's not even a matter of being an activist, but that she absolutely refuses to read the room, brings it up unprompted, doesn't stop to consider the fights she can pick and win, and lets it put a damper on her married life.

And I'm now finished season 4 of BH.

Hollyhock is hockin' cute. But...she's a horse.

Finished season 5 of Bojack Horseman. Almost there...this is the first time I can really think of that I've binged a longer show like this, though I guess 6 seasons in a month isn't even really proper 'binging', either.

This was released as a trailer 2.5 years ago, and never got greenlit. What an atrocity. It would have been genuinely interesting.

There was no way CN would allow it. Not for the licensing woes, but for the same reasons a lot of companies don't want negative portrayals of their products outside of the over the top parody (see: Robot Chicken). It's why Williams Street wussed out with Johnny Quest stuff in the Venture Bros.
