Generic "Harem Anime" idea

While I'm here, I'd just like to say: if you like any of my ideas, steal 'em.

This wouldn't work for LH, which is why I'm putting it here. It would only work in a "harem anime" in which two girls or more are actively competing with each other for the attentions of the male character, who acts indifferent or negatively to the girls' flirting, etc., e.g. Tenchi Muyo. However, my idea is so vague, it would work for some other anime too, probably.

Let's say the reason the male character is so indifferent/negative towards the flirting is because--he already has a girlfriend (an OC, not a Mary Sue). A normal girlfriend. Without any superpowers or secret identities or hidden pasts or family secrets or anything. Imagine the sweetest, nicest real girl you know in real life.

Said girlfriend already knows of the "harem" female characters' flirting, etc. towards the main character, but somehow has fully satisfied herself that it's not the male character's fault, and the male character isn't responding to the flirting, etc., either.

Said girlfriend is very much in love with the male character, who keeps her secret from the other girls because he really doesn't want to hurt them. Or maybe he's just shy. Or maybe he meant to tell them in the beginning, but he never got a chance or something.

Said girlfriend tries to visit whenever the other, competing girls aren't around/noticing.

Write a few chapters of that. Then, another non-competing female character (not original) almost notices the girlfriend. She's not sure she saw what she thinks she saw, but she starts her own provate investigation.

Begin chaos.

I don't watch many anime, so I don't know any which would fit this--which is why I'm giving it to you all.

Mmmh .While the idea in itself isn't bad, there's so many way this fics could go wrong!

How could an ordinary girl accept the situation Ranma or tenchi is in ?Having your boyfriend get constantly vamped by other girls , and take it with a smile ? It's already Mary Sue realm.In the Ranmaverse , Akane is the supposedly "ordinary" fiancee, and we all all know how that goes.<_<

Anyway, I think that's for this to work , you have to begin your story at the meeting between our hero and his new romantic interest , maybe have them be an item before the beginning of the series .

Well, I didn't say she accepts it without, you know, looking for herself. Maybe she paid someone to look and check how he is? I dunno. If I knew which series this were taking place is...I still wouldn't know. This is just an ideaworm that came to be during the night and won't go away.
