Was doing some Legion of Superheroes studying, writing an omake for Cell's story, when I came across this:

http://losh.wikia.com/wiki/Gen%27ma

They literally have a Green Lantern in the 30th Century called Gen'ma, a female panda.

...I don't care how much they'd deny it, that just can't be a coincidence!

What if the cops caught Genma and made him work as a superhero as community service instead of serving jail time?

That would be hilarious and well worth reading for the stupid shit Genma gets up too as a super hero

I would read a fic where Genma is fighting crime as community service.

Well, they are from the Legion of Superheroes AU, partnered with a redhead, Jordana Gardner, in the 31st century, so it is either an homage, or an accident.  They are both from Sector 2814.  So this could be Genma's descendant--meaning he had a child after cursed--or this species is what fell into the pool of Jusenkyo and the guides just assumed it was a normal panda.

Wouldn't be the first time someone stole from Ranma 1/2. The starting region from the World of Warcraft - Mists of Pandaria has a Jusenkyo like place and the race living there are anthropomorphic pandas.

Genma and Ranma appear in the Ninja High School comic.

Ranma appears in My Little Pony - Friendship is Magic.

It's in one of the Halloween/Nightmare Night episodes (I forget the title) where Fluttershy has pictures of various anime characters in pony form as decorations for a party... including Ranma, Bulma from DragonBall, Utena from Shojo Kakumei Utena, Rei Ayanami from Evangelion, and I forget the last one. Phooey.

That is one and then it's visible again when Rainbow Dash goes to a con.

What of Kung Fu Panda.

In any case, I once had read somewhere the idea for Ryoga and his umbrella came from a old 70's Japanese movie called the Man witht he Iron Umbrella. I've actually seen that movie, it is comedy, but it is comedy for probably all the wrong reasons, as the translations and acting seemed to me terrible, but so terrible I laughed my way through it.
