Give me a server.

I'm going to start up a game card for WoW, and start a new character on a new server.

I quit last year because I got bogged down with shit and have been very, very busy, but I want to start anew.

What I want is suggestions: I've played this game since release, I've played almost every kind of class/race combo there is... So I want class/race suggestions and server suggestions.

I do raid, and I expect competency. By competency, I mean people who know how to gear, play, raid, help, etc. I know how to play, I'm tired of trying to work with people who don't know how.

I'll play PvP or PvE, Alliance or Horde, RP or not, but I do want the server to have some serious raiding guilds. Not OMGSOSRS: guilds like that are pretty much doomed to fail, but guilds that try and do high end content without being pretentious about it.

I don't expect you to be an 'in' if you're in such a guild, either.

But yeah, suggestions? I'd like to play with some people I know. All my rl friends stopped playing, and Thrall US sucks anymore. It goes down like twice a day. World Sever Down US, indeed.

I'm on EU/Aussie server Caelestrasz with the guild Equilibria. My main there is Kalvit. They've been trying to run several groups through ICC right now. Groups 1 and 3 are currently in the process of merging because each had some issues with player availability. Group 2 has had some good progression.

If you get an 80 up, feel free to look us up. Go here for some info if you're interested in the guild. It's Alliance, though some other TFFers are Horde here.

To be fair, there are some other guilds going fairly strong there but I don't know too much about the attitude. Guild I'm in just advertises itself as "Hardcore Players, Casual Schedule." Ended up getting in by recommendation of a friend.

Eh, shoulda probably mentioned that a US server would probably be for the best, regarding latency and such, since i have satellite and it's laggy enough as is.

well then that depends on what faction you want to play as. if you like primarally playing alliance I'd say Stormreaver where I am. make no mistake however the horde there make other horde look like pansies when it comes to pvp.

Bloodscalp and Bleeding Hallow are dying a slow death like the Galactic Republic (Star Wars)

Well, offhand I can say that the US servers Bloodscalp and Mal'ganis both have a fair share of TFF'ers that could possibly lend a hand with levelling. On the horde side, anyhow. Alliance side, they'd gank you as both are pvp servers.

Mal'ganis, in particular, is not a place to be alliance. Alliance is outnumbered something like...30 to 1? Something like that.

Bloodscalp had a decent number of raiding guilds progressing and so forth, from what I recall, and the population was medium/high so you didn't get a lot of queues and lag. Haven't been there in a while though.

Mal'ganis has a -lot- of raiding guilds and millions of pugs a minute forming (you seriously have to grab the addon Spam Throttle just to think of using Trade channel), including some world/US first guilds. Also, prices on AH for things you'd want to buy seem generally lower than Bloodscalp. Good for buyers, not so much for sellers, so that's something to consider.

On the other hand, it's classified as high pop/full (I haven't seen a whole lot of queues to get in since lich king was downed though, but it's always an issue when there's new content, moreso than other servers anyhow), server is old as fuck and comes with everything you'd expect from a server that old, and people ask for some of the most ridiculous gearscore requirements to get into pugs.

That said, given the sheer number of pugs? Not that horrifying, except for that bottleneck going from heroic/emblem epics into raid epics and trying to get into those pugs for achievements/gear and you'd see that problem anywhere, honestly.

As for class/race suggestions, that's kinda hard to do. I mean, tanks and healers are always in demand, so that's an option, I guess.

If your account already has high level characters rather than you getting a new fresh account, you can also just start a DK to get a leg up on 55 levels and hit 80 faster so you can provide for other alts.

Played tank, healer, and dps at varying points, all at 80 on different servers.

Who are on Bloodscalp, Mal'Ganis, and Stormreaver from TFF?

Sounds like Mal'Ganis for Horde, and Stormreaver for Alliance server-wise, so far, so I'll base it on how many people are on each.

EDIT: Also, out of the 10 classes, Mage, Paladin, Hunter, DK, and Druid are out, since I already have 80s of those and have no wish to go through them again.

That leaves Rogue, Warlock, Warrior, Shaman, Priest.

As for Alliance vs. Horde, I couldn't care less.

I'm stateside, and I don't find any problem with those servers latency wise. Only lag issues I get tend to come in after maintenance/patch day. Besides, all the US/Latin America/EU servers are physically located in the states. Last I checked, anyway, which was last year.

Well if you honestly want to play with people from this Forum Bloodscalp is the way to go, horde side.

Farmers can make some serious cash there, herbs are pretty cheep though, ore on the other hand :ph43r:

LOTS of blacksmiths over there fyi

the races with the best racials, are Bloodelves, Orcs and trolls. Undead got nerfed when they had their racial ability share the same cooldown as the pvp tricket

Bloodscalp has Solarman, violinmana, SotF and a few others. We used to have a TFF guild there, though a bunch of us dropped out of WoW since then and guild fell apart, so even if you looked in the appropriate thread for that, a lot of those characters are gonna be inactive by now. I still have a few characters there myself, but I don't really log on anymore.

Mal'ganis I'm less sure, actually. I only recall seeing in some thread around here that people had some characters there. For sure, I know that Bjorn has a rogue there who's fought LK, Zephyrus has a hunter he's slowly levelling, and I have a pally I'm slowly starting to gear through ICC-10. Other than that, no clue as Zeph is the only one I really chat with whose from TFF.

Whenever you get a chance, add a channel "bandofthehawks" to your chat. When we're online, we're pretty much always there.

Add "WoF." That's my primary character on that server. All my other characters are below lvl 20.

Elynsynos and Anaba are my 80s. There's a few other ex-Hawks in my guild, but neither of them are TFFers, sadly. You'll see them in /bandofthehawks just as often if not moreso than myself (don't be afraid if Exsanguie gets a little weird, she's probably high. She doesn't really bite.)
