Architect I.M. Pei, who designed the glass pyramid at the Louvre in Paris and the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum in Cleveland, among others. I admit being more impressed that he lived over a hundred years.

EDIT: It's been a few months since I last checked the Fanfiction Mailing List archive, since, well, few people use the FFML anymore, but... the fanfic author most well-known as Eternal Lost Lurker

I can't support professional wrestling on any level anymore because they don't take care of their people and deny any responsibility for the toll it takes on their performers.

This death is just yet another tragic example of it.

They abuse legal loopholes that they aren't even really entitled to use to horrific levels of disgusting behaviors. It has been especially bad since the WWE effectively became a monopoly in the industry.

The former WWF and current WWE are ten times worse than the NFL has ever been. The mortality rates of former wrestlers is staggering.

The amount of former wrestling stars that have had to resort to crowdfunding to help pay for their medical expenses is downright disturbing.

Vince is a garbage human being. He's even more evil than the character he plays in the ring. I will never give that man another dime as long as I live.

It's a shame, because pro wrestling was such a big part of my childhood. I can't even stomach watching it anymore, and it has nothing to do with the camp or silliness of the events themselves or any superficial reasons like that. I can't in good consience do anything to promote or support it anymore.

While not having the mortality of Wrestling, I've found that a good number of sports in the US abuse their athletes in some ways. College sports are a prime example, as is the NFL. In college you can't get paid, even in the form of accepting a meal from a scout, but be worked like a dog and get tossed out really easily even for slight injuries, often losing the athlete their education as well. NFL stars often end up leaving with brain damage and other lifelong injuries but there's no real care provided for them post career. It's all about the benjamins in sports, and if you ain't makin' em for the big wigs, you just be roadkill...
