Hah! Bet you thought I forgot about this!

This is just the first snip of the chapter. Feel free to throw me your feedback!
-----

At least whatever had happened seemed to be over.

That was all the comfort that Alkaid had at the moment, and it wasnÆt nearly enough. After, what had happened had happened in a split second, and left Haseo screaming in agony. There had been no attacker. There had been no warning. There werenÆt even any monsters on this field anymore! Besides, whatever had hurt Haseo had really hurt him. Not as in hit points, as in actual, physical pain.

Even now, though the pain seemed to have passed, little spasms were working their way through his body. It was like he had been struck by lightning! Alkaid could only imagine what the actual Haseo, Ryou Misaki, was going through. Even as that thought crossed her mind, HaseoÆs eyes cracked open for the first time since that mysterious strike. ôUrgh..ö he grunted out before forcing himself to sit up.

ôWhatà what happened?ö The usually unshakable PKK asked. His voice was heavy with equal parts pain and sleep, and Alkaid was sure that if she looked, sheÆd see his eyes reflecting pure agony.

As Haseo forced himself onto his feet, Alkaid sprang up from where sheÆd been kneeling and ran around in front of him. ôWhat happened is something hurt you. Hurt you bad. And I will not have you hurt if I can stop it.ö As Haseo opened his mouth, no doubt to try and reassure her, she continued. ôAnd I can stop it, at least for a moment. You, Mr. PKK, are logging off. Then youÆre going to bed!ö

Angrily, Haseo opened his mouth. ôAlkaid, itÆs fine! I hurt for a little bit, and now itÆs over!ö At that moment, another spasm racked his virtual body, and Alkaid was under no illusions that it didnÆt touch his physical form as well. The grey-haired Adept Rouge tried to think of another reason before Alkaid could open her mouth again. ôBesides, itÆs only Four OÆClock!ö

Before he knew it, Haseo found AlkaidÆs attractive face (though it looked worse when contorted in rage) inches from his own. In slow, measured tones, the former emperor said ôI. DonÆt. Care. You. Bed. Now.ö

Jumping backwards and waving his hands, Haseo began nodding as fast as he could. ôAlright, alright! IÆll log off now and go to bed!ö Alkaid nodded in return, but didnÆt soften her look until the familiar blue rings enveloped him, taking him back to Mac Anu so he could log off. As he faded away, she winked.

ôIÆll be seeing you in a couple hours!ö She yelled. From her tone, it was clear that she didnÆt mean in game. Haseo had just enough time to let a panicked look cross his face before he vanished completely.

Shaking her head, Alkaid typed in a few commands that would tell the system to alert her if Haseo logged back in. Anyway, it was time for her to log off anyway. But first, she had a few e-mail to write. After all, if Zelkova and Yata had known all about the stuff that had happened before, theyÆd probably know what was going on now.

Besides, she had to get it done quickly before the busses stopped running. It was going to be hard enough to get to HaseoÆs before the day was out as it was, and she would bet all she had that he was going to log in to investigate later that night.

And sheÆd be damned if her man put himself in danger without her right there to help!

^_^ It may be a little on the short side, but this story has my interest once again.

His voice was heavy with equal parts pain and sleep
Sleep should be lethargy or something similar to hold the mental picture. :huh.: In my opinion anyway, take it as you will.

ôI. DonÆt. Care. You. Bed. Now.ö
Fitting, considering the time that I'm reviewing this story.

Dusk and Dawn Two

Okay, good news, bad news, worse news time for everyone who reads this story (actually, it applies to anyone who reads any of my work, but right now, this story is most affected).

Good news: I had the new chapter finished.

Bad News: I forgot about it and forgot to post it.

Worse News: On Saturday, I had an epic computer crash. I lost everything, and I MEAN EVERYTHING! I spent all of yesterday trying to recoup some of my losses, but I've lost all of my stories.

It'll be a while before I can get the next part of this up.

Dusk and Dawn Two

Alright, I've been trying to add to this, but I just can't seem to get it flowing. Maybe that's because I haven't played a .hack in a while, or maybe because I've been having problems writing in general. But are there any .hack fics or fanart around that that are any good? I just can't find any.

Also, I'm looking for a coauthor. I've always wanted to do a collaboration, but it's never quite panned out. If anyone is up for it, I'd be happy to do a duel or multi author .hack fic.

Sorry about the lack of update!

Their is a few good ones on ff.net if want to go looking for them, when I get home I will see if I can find some. Most haven't been updated in a bit though.

Right here is some of the ones I found with a quick browse, I haven't read deeply into most of them but these are the ones that look decent.

A Mentor In Training
Rage Against the Twilight
Of Legendary Players
.Hack Heist
Under an Azure Sky

And one story vaguely kinda like .Hack, think digimon mixed with the world - "Of Blood and Binary"
