'Harry Potter: Knowledge is Power' by SerpentSannin has been updated to chapter 12.

This is one of my favourite HP fics and just how Rowling SHOULD have written it. And it will be a Harry/Fleur fic later on to boot. A definite must read.

'Luna's Hubby' by Meteoricshipyards has been updated to chapter 20

A great read. I like it.
Harry/Fleur? That ranks right up there with Harry/Luna. I will enjoy it.

Doesn't the recommendation thread double for posting updates? Since they posted JBern's update, and no one complained about that... Oh, and thanks for the H/Fleur recommendation.

A warning though. Harry is two years older than in canon, so the philospher's stone will only appear in Harry's third year. And Neville's the boy-who-lived in this one.

As for Harry/Luna and Harry/Fleur, those are my favourite pairings too. In fact, due to the overwhelming quantity of HP fics, I specifically search the HP section at ff.net only for Harry/Fleur, Harry/Gabrielle, Harry/Luna and Harry/Tonks fics (and sometimes Harry/FemaleBlaise)

Hm, only thing I don't like about the story so far (haven't gotten too far in) is what appears to be a lot of Americanisms and pop references like Fight Club. Plus, some unwieldy grammar. It's making it a bit of a pain to read.

These, along with Hermoine, are probably the only reasons i keep coming back to this godforsaken section of ff.net. God help me find a decently long Harry/Gabrielle one though.

I don't mind Hermoine because, despite her unfortunate name that should have at least led to a thousand hilarious lemons, she's one of the least annoying characters in the entire series. I'm just mad she got hoisted her off on Ron... ugh.

Bah, I predicted Hermione/Ron at the first book, and I got that when I was ~10.

Quit saying "Hermione/Ron." It triggers my gag reflex.

Edit: It shall now be referred to as "That pairing." Harry/Ginny shall be referred to as "The Pairing That Shall Not Be Named."

I couldn't finish it for the exact same reasons. The grammar is just too much, and the run-on sentences are constant.

That, and the way the author constantly repeats stuff that anyone who knows anything about Harry Potter knows. Like explaining that Harry is a wizard, who Death Eaters are, who they serve, stuff like that.

Love your sig pic, Ringmaster.

As for apirings making you gag... I don't think you want to know what I discovered when I used the search engine at ff.net and checked the summaries for 'Fleur'. Half of the fics are Hermion/Fleur. Why? What plausible reason would there be for a Hermione/Fleur pairing? But that 50% of the fics have that pairing... that's SICK!

So any good Harry/Gabrielle (a loli is fine too :p) fics you can recomend?

I'm looking for Harry/Luna fics myself, as well. I'm addicted to that pairing now for some reason. :p

Luna's Hubby started off well, but by keeping Luna's mum alive it kind of takes away from what makes Luna... Luna. Pairing them off when they're children also weakens the pairing for me.

It's wonderfully whimsical fics like this one that makes any story with a well-characterized Luna refreshing to read, but they're pretty rare. Anyone have any recs?

Well, Castor's not so much a butler as a surrogate big brother and bodyguard for Harry.

Of course, considering how much trouble Harry will get into with Castor guarding him, heh...

Not a bad suggestion though. Thank you.

Well, again, I'm trying not to make Castor a Gary Stu/Mary Sue. Along with not having him have any romantic interests, he's got a few true screws loose that people are going to react negatively to.

... It could always be Harry Potter and the Squib Who Kicked Ass? Though I'm hoping for something a little more subtle. Hmmm...

Originally, I had it as 'The Boy-Who-Lived and the Squib-Who-Kicked-Ass', but that seemed like too much. 'Learning the Ropes', perhaps? 'Heroes, Squibs, and Thermite'? 'The Illustrious Art of the Lead Pipe'? :snigger:

Heh, Castor prefers a crowbar. He loves the Half-Life series of video games. I'm setting this story in the movie timeframe (now) but using the elements of the books. By this point I think we can safely say the books and movies of Harry Potter are different universes.

I just hope the divergence becomes bigger for the sixth movie.

I would have gone with "Big Brother Malfoy", but it seemed woefully inadequate somehow. I'm guessing I'd like to go with a "Harry Potter and the (blank)" title. So all I have to do is fill in the blank.
