Heroes of the Storm

./shrug Just a different gameplay style. Out of all the retarded moba/arts/blah blah shit, Blizzard's monkier of 'Battle Brawler' actually makes sense for heroes. Laning really doesn't matter all that much, securing objectives wins you the game, and you secure objectives through teamfighting- and nobody dies in a heroes teamfight unless their positioning sucks.

What you're really aiming for in a teamfight is to have superior positioning to force them to back off to give you enough time to cap the objective- if your positioning is bad, they'll be able to re-engage or stall you long enough to restart the fight.

EDIT: Whoo, just hit my first bug, and it was a hell of a bug. Every time their illidian metamorphed our player was stunned until they died. o_O

I'm in it too, and I do have to disagree that it's hard to die. It's actually really damned easy to die. The scaling is a bit off for certain guys though so it gives the impression that it's hard.

It's incredibly hard to die unless you fuck up your positioning. I've been playing pretty much nothing but sgt Hammer, though I've tried all the characters, and even on a character like hammer where things can go from bad to fucked in a matter of seconds, it's still incredibly hard to die.

Case in point, my first loss. Team demanded I solo lane on Hammer, that went about as well as could be expected, given that no other lane even had pressure. In any case, I spent 90% of the game getting 5 man ganked as a solo lane sgt hammer- only died thrice.

if you spent 90% of the game getting 5 man ganked in LoL with no other lanes being able to push your score would be like 0/24, not 0/3.

I really do have to ask how many games you've played now to only have one loss o_O

Probably 15-20 or so. I like sgt hammer because as soon as you hit level 10 you can basically shove all the way to fountain- mine down the entrances, plant yourself just outside tower range, shred the towers and napalm the minions. Between the advance warning from watchtowers, other lanes, and the mines, there's plenty of time to unplant yourself and scoot to safety before you die, and at that point most of their team is out of position and the rest of your team is pushing or getting objectives.

Not many people know how to deal with her, and as long as your team just keeps trying to push and get objectives, you win.

EDIT: Also, keep in mind that most players have probably no MOBA experiences, most are very likely WoW players. Sure, I wasn't that great at LoL, but at least I have SOME experience.

Got plenty of LoL Experience, and die plenty of times. o_O Course on a bad game I have like 5-6 deaths. Games are too short to die too much. That amount of deaths is roughly equivalent to a LoL game.

Sergeant Hammer sucks.

Illidan is awesome.

That is my experience so far in the alpha.

Also, letting abilities hit structures seems odd to me, and makes Sonja the Barbarian's whirl pretty op.

5-6? o_O I don't think I've ever had more than 3...

And Sgt Hammer is fuckin awesome. Q yourself at max range, AA the gate and drop napalm on it. Between the napalm explosion, the napalm burn, the AA damage modifier from being max range, your AA hitting the gate+ both towers due to being Q'd, and the double dip damage from having your AA's chain onto multiple targets, you can shred a gate and both towers in less than 10 seconds, without even having to get into tower range.
90% of the time you think you should Q on hammer, don't.

So I took a look at the wiki, and I'm curious, how exactly do the talents work? Is it a pick one lock the other options out? Or pick one at one level, and pick another of the same tier at a later level?

Level 1, and every 3 levels that you gain after that, you get to choose a talent from that level's tier. Each tier has 4 talents, save 10 that gives you 2 options (which give you your ult) and level 20 (which gives you two options to upgrade your ult).

So at level 1, you choose 1 of 4 'Level 1 Talents,' etc.

SGT Hammer's fun. You just gotta be a lot more careful with her than other.

5-6 on a bad game. 1-3 on a good game. I tend to play dive in characters. Diablo is one of my faves, and if you aren't dying on him occationally you aren't doing it right.

Apologies for the massive necro, but started playing HotS about a year ago. Anyone still playing it, and what do people think of it now compared to how it used to be?
