Seriously, the concept should be broached. THe MAgical world is big on the hwole 'secret' from muggles issue. So how would they deal with all this nifty cameraphones nearly everywhere to catch magical acts and then sites like Youtube to ensure said videos are spread worldwide in mere moments?

Or would they even recognize the threat before it was far to late?

Thoughts?

They wouldn't realize that there was a threat until they captured.

Problem:

Magic has the nasty side effect of messing with electronic devices... so it's likely for more sensitive machines such as the "cameraphones" to get fried.

Also, do remember that the magic world IS in contact with the goverment.

The British Ministry is in contact with the British government. Youtube is in more places than Britain alone. Besides. who says that a camera doesn't have enough range to record things within a magical field, while being outside it. Also, just when was the last time was there a comprehensive testing that proved ALL technoligy was effected by magic. Probably in the Middle Ages.

The idea of magic affecting electronics has been limited to Hogwarts I believe. I don't know if JKR said anything about it anywhere else, but in the books that affect only happens at the school and is likely due to some of the wards that are there alone. The ministry, St. Mungoes, and Diagon Alley can't have them anyway; as they are all in the middle of London and don't cause ill effects on the rest of the city.

Or a capture of a death eater raid or the like, the person is obliviated, but the video/pics remain.

This is why I dislike Harry Potter. Love the story, hate the world.

There is NO WAY that we would not have seen Dragons at some point. I don't care how good the wizards and witches are. We'd spot them. Factor in stuff like satellites, and the world just starts falling apart.
