Who says those two concepts are necessarily mutually exclusive?

And another image to justify that this picture of genderbent Renji is hideous.
Fixed it for you.
Nope definitely fixed now.
All of the sudden, I'm reminded of DC Universe #11: the gender reversed universe, where Kyle's 'sister' hit on him.

"Yeah, both the manipulations of the SS arc and indeed the more recent stuff with Ichigo's mom, retcons aside with the stupid hollow thing, were actually far more sensible and actually makes Aizen look smart and opportunistic, changing his plans on the fly when unexpected factors, like Ichigo's mom distracting and killing the hollow or Ichigo's group ACTUALLY managing to save Rukia from execution happen.

He didn't plan for those things, hell half the time he doesn't even expect them and had no way to see them coming. However his plans were fluid enough and he was willing enough to change them and react as needed to keep things moving along towards his goal. That's the sign of an intelligent, and incredibly dangerous villain and how you truly execute a Xanatos Gambit, particularly long term.

NOT the arrancar arc bullshit where 'everything dance to the palm of my hand', and things only fall apart at the end because you want them to. THAT Aizen is a villian sue of epic proportions and deserves all the scorn the entirety of the arrancar arc garnered for its bullshit. It's fortunate in fact that there's a way to differentiate these two Aizens. Glasses Aizen is the smart, calm and intelligent one. No glasses is the bullshit sue who manipulates the entire plot because he can and doesn't even really lose without it being all according to plan. Separate those two characters and things start making a lot more sense.

Clearly the GLASSES were the true man behind the man and the source of his clever plans."

I disagree I think it's glasses aizen that's the god mode/villain sue, what with being far more powerful than he should be and pulling off implausible bare handed blade blocks and consteadly having that annoying smug expression on his face, when deicide came he stoped being a god mode sue and it was satisfying to see ichigo absoluty spank that guy, also how is the revelation of misaki a retcon? There was forshadowing for it.

The way I see it I have a theory that aizen wants to merge with ichigo and become a true "Perfect Being", as stated by his "you will be devoured" line, and the whole Final Getsuga Tensio thing was NOT part of his plan. Also you shouldn't praise someone for being a monster or manipulative.

He's just late to the party is all.

Jman7, you quote someone using that little speech bubble above the text box. Like so:

During the Arrancar Arc, Aizen brought the Sexta Espada to his knees with just spiritual pressure, countered Sakanade's mindscrew within moments, escaped the Captaina and Visoreds combination assault, destroyed Komamura's bankai and cut down about five captains (plus Lisa). What he did during the SS Arc was small potatoes.

Then there's how he constantly spouted how clever he was and how he had controlled everything that had happened so far with that "annoying smug expression on his face" to Ichigo, Isshin and Urahara.

when deicide came he stoped being a god mode sue and it was satisfying to see ichigo absoluty spank that guy
He spent the majority of Deicide in god mode. It was only in the last few chapters that he finally got smacked around (and he still survived, dammit).

The Masaki retcon he's referring to, I believe, is that Ichigo's Hollow came her from instead of his Hollowfication during the Shattered Shaft. To be fair, I don't think it was ever explicited stated that Hollow Z was born from that incident but literally all the evidence pointed to that up until Ichigo chose his asauchi.

Also you shouldn't praise someone for being a monster or manipulative.
I see no problem with pointing out that a fictional villain was written well.

I don't know why the image isn't working in the post. The link worked fine for me, after right click>properties.

17) 1000 Year War = Romeo and Juliet.
Bears mentioning that Kubo has gone on to state that Ichigo's favorite author is William Shakespeare. Also bears mentioning that Kubo has stated that Aizen's favorite author is William Shakespeare.
