widgets.amung.us keeps the pages loading for an inordinate amount of time. Is it related to the whos.amung.us, because thats what I get when I google for it.

Using Inspect Element, it seems they are one and the same.
Code:
<img src="http://whos.amung.us/swidget/tmvz19yn3mdi.gif" alt="web tracker" width="80" height="15" border="0" style="visibility:hidden;">
I just checked icyboards forums, they have it too, so I guess it was them. And my enter/return key won't work on this page any more ... anyways, any way to remove it?

Edit: Decided to get Ghostery, unless anyone knows a better option.

Forgive my ignorance, but are we talking about web-browsers? Or something else?

Not browser related as far as I can tell. When visiting an IcyBoards forum there is a web tracker widget somewhere on the page. On TFF it's at the bottom and it's hidden. But the problem was it kept the forum pages loading for me for an annoyingly long time.

Ghostery has some criticisms: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ghostery#Criticism

NoScript and AdBlock Plus (Firefox) won't block it by default. But you can explicitly tell AdBlock Plus to block it. I used ABP's "Open blockable items" interface to find it and block it.

He's talking about an invisible web tracking bug. These bugs are normally invisible to users. But apparently the widgets.amung.us server wasn't responding and thus held up the page load for him, giving the "Waiting for widgets.amung.us..." symptom.

Ah! I understand now. Thanks for the explanation @[rdde]. :)
