Some of you might recognize some of this plot from the third Tenchi Muyo movie, and some points from the recent movie Inception. I came up with this idea at work with inspiration from those two, and I've not been able to test it out on anyone yet, so you people are my sounding board.

Keitaro is doing some cleaning in the annex, when he comes across a dusty old mirror.

While clearing out boxes from the room with the mirror in it, he hears a woman's voice asking for help.

He can't find any woman in the room, and he turns to the mirror, to find the reflection of a woman looking at him.

When he sees her eyes, he falls into a trance, and walks towards the mirror.

When he gets to the mirror, he puts his hand on it, and gets sucked away to another world.

He wakes up in a bed he remembers as his own in an apartment in Kyoto, with the woman that he saw in the mirror wearing an apron in the kitchen and singing.

He remembers that he's married, and has been married to this woman, named Meiko Urashima, for 3 years.

He looks around the apartment, and remembers that he fell asleep late last night after sketching a portrait of his wife.

He remembers their wedding night, and their honeymoon together in Okinawa.

So begins Keitaro's life as a married man in the alternate world. But time goes by, and the Hina-sou girls quickly notice his disappearance.

Kaolla begins to track him using her devices, but she can only track him for short amounts of time. She discovers that he's in a parallel world, one which intersects with their own for very brief periods of time.

They first find out that he's in Kyoto because Tsuruko comments to Motoko that she saw him holding the hand of a woman that they had never seen before.

They track him down, but it's discovered that he can't see them or hear them, and has no idea that they're even there. He has no memory of his life at the Hina-sou.

When they try to touch him, their hands go right through him because the worlds are not perfectly synced up.

Kaolla hooks up a telephone to a dimensional stabilizing device that she's made. She uses it to call the number of the apartment that they saw him entering. There's only enough power for a 5 minute conversation across to the parallel world, and so they have to decide who will get to talk to Keitaro for those five minutes.

They decide and that girl, unnamed for now, calls Keitaro on the phone and talks to him while Meiko is out shopping for food. She begs him to remember the Hina-sou and all the girls there. He hangs up on her, but he's now haunted by the idea that there's something not right, and that he's not living in the right world.

When Meiko comes home, he says nothing about this to her, and pretends that nothing has happened. All seems well between them, but Keitaro begins to have flashes of memory of these girls that the voice on the phone told him about. Faces, voices,

Actually I'm exhausted, so I'll finish this post tomorrow. Tell me what you think of it so far please.
