IF12--The Last Stand

The moment of truth, the final showdown, the last stand.á Often the climax of the story, or the final scene, the last stand is where everything comes to an end, for better or worse.

Your challenge, for the next 24 hours, is to write a story about a last stand.

The story can be told from the perspective of either a hero or a villain, and either side can be victorious.

Additionally, the story does not have to be dramatic in nature--the last stand can be a romantic proposal, or a battle of the bands (or a courtroom on the third day *hint hint*).

Gentlemen, you have twenty-four hours.á Make the most of them!

As I said in the main IF thread, Aluminum Fic will have a related topic. You may want to write in that one as well, if you want to expand on your IF story.

Aluminum Fic starts 3PM EST (12 noon PST)!

Not super pleased with it, but happy I actually got it to a close if not to the ending I intended. Now I'm going to pass out for nine hours.

Protip: Don't go on Wikipedia to look up a unimportant fact midfic, make it up and save yourself two hours. Edit it in later.
