IF 2-7: Fighting For Freedom

There comes a time in all of our lives when you have to fight for your freedom. Maybe you're ignorant, or smothered or held back, threatened or beaten down. Maybe the person holding you back has your best interests at heart, but especially if they don't, you have to take a stand. Maybe you're the one holding you back. So rebel, run away, start a revolution. Do whatever it takes to break out of your shell.

If we get any entrants at all, I shall judge, and I hope there will be others who judge, to prevent Watashiwa from being 'forced' to do so.

Maybe we should bend the rules from "four hours" to "four hours or two entries, which ever comes last".

Hah , no. We're sticking with just the one. Sad Wata is sad, but I've bent the rules over entry times enough. That said, if you want to write a story and submit it to the topic soon, we'll review it, but Cynic will be the winner regardless as the one person to follow contest rules.

Happy fourth to our American ficcers, have a good weekend everyone else.

I request a rules change. Like, 24 hours instead of 4. Literally every time I read an Iron Fic challenge and thought, "hey, I think I'd like to compete this time," I scrolled to the bottom of the thread and saw that time has already been up for like two hours.

Maybe even message it... you have 4 hours from reading the first post, inside of a 24 hour period or something like that? Yes it requires the honor system, but I really feel like it's the only way.

That's what Aluminum Fic is -supposed- to be for. Violinmana posts a topic related to Iron Fic's, some time after IF's 4 hours are up, and that challenge gets 24 hours.

I'm still waiting on that one myself. *taps wristwatch, looking for Violin*

violinmana is at Anime Expo. The plan was supposed to be "vm emails Wata the prompt, Wata posts it after IF" but I got nothing.

daniel: While I'm delighted that you'd like to write, I'm sticking with the four hour version. When I expanded the hours last year, there was no change in the average number of entries. This convinced me that the four-hour format actually works best.

Now, if you're really interested, I make a point of posting the prompt at the same time each week: 11AM Pacific Standard Time. If it works for you, try joining in.

EDIT: Ah, people waiting for AF: vm tells me that he's starting it half an hour from now. Keep your heads up.
