Iron Fic 3-11: Traitor's Reward

Someone wasn't a team player, and is now batting for the other team (innuendo intentional). Thing is, that never works well. The new team can't trust a traitor since there's no guarantee that a second betrayal isn't forthcoming, and the old team is still broken up over it, and maybe the betrayer left some casualties behind. Since future survivals hinges on keeping relations warm with one or both, this leads to...problems.
Patience is required, the traitor's reward is coming soon, and it's absolutely perfect.
Not for for the traitor it isn't.
Perhaps the traitor has been executed or hunted down by former allies. Perhaps the traitor has been rewarded, only to discover that wanting something is more fulfilling than having it, or that it wasn't worth the price. Perhaps the traitor lives to see old allies defeat the new, and is captured or forced to flee. Or perhaps the second double-cross and subsequent return to former allies does not instantly restore broken trust.
The ultimate resolution is up to you, as is the nature of the traitors reward.
