And before this I considered Cowboy Bebop to be one of the few anime that actually stood a chance at a successful transition to live action.

That's what I get for getting my hopes up.

Mh...well, we've pretty much known this was going to happen months ago.

Well, whatever. I was probably going to ignore it anyway.

Somehow, I think you wanted to cause these kinds of reactions, Simmy....I wonder why.

Ha...stupidity on a massive scale on my part, whoops.

Same for me, just for hearing Cowboy Bebop being made into a Live-Action. Now I weep for the wasted Awesome. Why Keanu!? WHY!!!!!

About the only thing I can hope for is that Reeve's gets replaced. On that thought, who do you guys think would be a Good Spike?

I'll start with Clive Owen to be Keanu's replacement.

Well, I had fortunately forgotten, but now I can't even deny it anymore.

As time goes on, I wonder how Keanu keeps getting work, because the guy has no facial expressions. I actually liked Constantine, because he was at least able to pull off the smart ass personality. Didn't go see TDTESS, even though, as the alien Klaatu, he doesn't have to worry about facial expressions.

However, it's a travesty to see him be cast as Spike. He doesn't do confident, yet bumbling. And that's what Spike was to me. He gets the job done, but he stumbles around from time to time. Of course, that could also be the fact that it was an anime. They all have some form of humor.

I would want to see Ryan Reynolds as Spike, honestly. He does good action movies in my opinion. He will soon have three comic book adaptations under his belt, being a major character in two.

:huh.:

Doesn't matter, I probably won't see it, unless I hear good things.

Eh, I'm not thrilled with Keanu as Spike, but to be honest Spike wasn't my favorite character anyway - I liked Jet.

I wonder who they'll get for Faye...

No. Just NO. Perfectly content with it being nice and neat as it is... then they have to do something like cast HIM of all people as Spike!? I could imagine him easier as Vicious but obviously he would need to actually act in that role.

Instead of jumping on the kill Keanu now train I shall wait to actually see the movie before I make any judgments.

I won't. It'll be a decent action movie. Just not Cowbow Bebop beyond the name.

You know, my first instinct was to repeat "I need to Kill" over and over again when I first read this, but I think Ill do the adult thing and wait for the movie then see if I will need to flee to Mexico for manslughter. Who know, maybe what ever magic he had from Speed will comeback.

Remember, there is still hope for the Battle Angel Alita/Gunnm movie to not suck. That is all that matters.

After seeing Sukiyaki Western Django, I want to see Miike do a version of Cowboy Bebop live action with Japanese actors.

The sad thing is that, if this was made in the seventies, I would have killed to see Sonny Chiba as Spike (for martial arts ability alone).

If I had to pick one English actor, I'd say Gerard Butler (especially after he played One-Two in Rocknrolla), but only if he could get the accent right. Anyways, Spike is near impossible to cast.

Oddly enough, seeing Cillian Murphy go insane in just about every role he plays makes me believe that he could play a good Vicious (if Vicious is in the movie at all).

I wouldn't mind seeing Keanu as Spike if they brought in Steve Blum to re-dub over his entire audio.
