Hah, interesting premise.

What's the next step, Section 2 dragging him in by the arms? :)

Hmmm... interesting, one must wonder what happened to the photo.

This actually reminds me of a NGE fic I read a very long time ago and have not been able to find for years. In that, Shinji also refused to go upon the first letter, a phone call by Nerv to him had him telling them off. And Ritsuko was sent to get him in a NERV supplied SUV... they were discussing it in the last chapter while she was sitting in the guardians house, with him standing on the steps coming downstaids from his room. He was smart enough to do so for a equalization of the height ands psychological effect.

I have more content, but I'm trying to decide whether this will reach my desired goal or not.

Hint: The goal is for content to be posted in another section of the forum.....
Bummer... Here I was hoping he gets the gun from her and threatens them with being shot or leaving... It can be considered self defense...

I've never been a fan of forced conscription. Especially since they are not operating with the Japanese Governement authority to kidnap citizens...

This also makes them look especially bad, since if they know he has no knowledge, and they have advance notice, why the heck simply not get Asuka... Misato here did not even think to question that.

By dsoing it at the school... and the students taking Ikari's comment in to account. they also show publicly what Nerv is really about.

With regards to that, I'm going to do something potentially foolish: make an assumption.

I'm assuming that Gendo ordered Shinji to arrive due to his knowledge about when the first Angel was going to attack.

Since Gendo knew that Unit-02 wasn't ready yet, there was little point in sending for Asuka.

Either they don't think that Asuka can synchronise with Unit-0 or they know that she won't be as effective as Shinji would be.

I don't recall her being very effective when they were trying to synchronise in the different units in the series.

But that's just me making the assumption that Gendo knew when the Angels would start to arrive.

A from-the-beginning where Shinji doesn't immediately follow the letter? A super positive. Amusing escalation of methods to drag Shinji to Tokyo-3? Brilliant.

However, what is the timeline of these events? As far as I can recall, Shinji came immediately upon seeing the letter, sending him right to the Angel as it arrives. Here, we are already delayed by the initial letter's return, another letter, & now the VTOL trip. "According to canon," the Angel would have destroyed the world already - by a week. Or does Gendo already account for this, even though he seemed surprised?

It would be nice to at least mention Asuka. Misato was with her for a couple years, right? Also, for my clarification, was Rei already injured at the time NERV sent the letter? The hunt seems rather arbitrary without those details (although the commanders wouldn't care). He is third for a reason....

As an aside, it is rational for Misato or anyone else, like the Bridge Bunnies, to wonder why the Third Child was never brought in earlier? Rei & Asuka were there since NERV's creation, right? Or was it mentioned that they (whoever they may be) found out days before the Angel attack (from our perspective)?

I love this show.

I really wanna know what brought this sudden case of "Daddy doesn't love me. So fuck him!" in Shinji.

Being an adolescent kid with daddy issues maybe?

Blimey, for a moment when I read the title I thought it was gonna be 'Shinji as raised by Nicholas Angel' from Hot Fuzz.

DUDE!

That is off the chain! But I think this might be a good one too. Let's see where he's going with this.

Actually... it could have been the letter itself... in canon didn't Shinji get a letter with nothing more than the word 'Come' on it and was direct from Gendo but he had the picture of Misato as well?

Here... he not only has no picture, but Gendo did not send a personalized letter. Smirks... personally think this was better, but it seems it set Shinji off.

A Pity Raa is seemingly not going the more resistant route, from his last posts... On the other hand, he manages to surprise and not take the conventional route to get to a plot point... we will have to see.

Then the Principal opened the door to reveal to attractive women sitting with their backs to the door.
The 2nd 'to' s/b 'two'.

ôLike she said, we'll be leaving now,ö Ritsuko said as she finished sedating Shinji. ôMisato, help me get Shinji to the VTOL.ö
I'd like to think the principal would at least report them to the local authorities, not that much would really be done about it, but it is still the morality of the matter. Shinji is a citizen that is plced in his charge while he is on campus... he failed in his duty.

One of use may need to distract him with our feminine wiles,
'use' s/b 'us'

And... how does Ritsuko know how long a person would remain out cold from a full stun gun? She have much experience stunning men? (yes.. bad pun)

ôWhat we brought Shinji here to stop, Misato.ö
So.... they will be seducing Shinji while the Angel attacks?

Heh... interested in seeing where it goes.

Ah, it's nice to be able to do whatever you want & legitimately say it was for the betterment of the world. I am amused, though, that Misato was so passive. Stuck between morality & practicality, I suppose.

Now, what will Shinji do now....

"Of course the world will end if that alien giant gets here, and of course, I'm the only one who can stop it using a weapon system I've never seen or trained to use. That's if the thing will even work for me in the first place. Yup, that makes PERFECT SENSE! SCREW. YOU. BITCHES!! You've got a trained pilot, use her; I'm going home."

...

"Look if I go up there, that thing'll kill me. If it comes here, well I'm only gonna die if Rei fails and the Rat Bastard over there isn't lying out his ass. I'll take my chances."

...

"Alright, Shinji just concentrate on walking. There you go, Good job! Hey your going the wrong way!? Get back here you little bastard!!"

This is... interesting. Although I do wonder just what they are going to do to him once they get him to NERV and he still refuses... He's obviously not dumb or naive enough in this story to believe anything they tell him at this point.

I doubt Unit 1 will take too kindly to a sedated Shinji, as that's the only way I could see them getting in the thing at this point.

They might as well install a dummy plug... Oh, wait... they hadn't finished them yet... Yup... they're screwed.

Yes... let's stick an unwilling pilot into the giant death machine.

THERE'S NO WAY THIS CAN GO WRONG.

This is hilarious.

I'd also like to point one thing out: While I'm unfamiliar with Post Second Impact Law (or even modern day Japanese and or American law in this case)... seeing as how it's the child's father demanding his presence... is this even kidnapping? Gendo (should) have sole legal custody of the boy. His caretakers were probably acting more 'in loco parentis' rather than having actual legal guardianship. Seeing as how the Big G likes to play things close to the vest. If possession is nine-tenths of the law, Gendo just repo'd his ass, right?

Also I'm all for the posting of segments of this story in another part of the forum. The thought of that happening with 'what's in it for me' but otherwise mostly unchanged Shinji is relevant to my interests.

Possibly, but the law is hilariously irrelevant anyway; Gendo's power is such that he could get away with murder, much less this.
