Not the first of its kind but probably the last. Here's a thread for posting any jutsu you've created that can be used in fanfiction.

Don't feel obligated to write the Japanese translation as I'm well aware of how much of a hassle it can be. If you don't want someone else to use your ideas or you want credit for it, be sure to say so when you post. If nothing else, I'm in the habit of making up jutsu whilst telling myself I'll be using it for a fanfic so I'll probably be making regular contributions. If anyone wants to use my ideas then feel free.

Here we go:

Wind Release Armour – This ninjutsu is a chakra flow jutsu which infuses the user’s entire body with wind chakra. The main effect of this is a vast increase to their offensive ability as the blade-like chakra allows them to cut and slice through targets with their punches and kicks. The wind chakra also serves as a defence as it shreds anything that touches it, making it difficult for an opponent to them without being harmed. Additional effects are that the wind armour grants the user an immunity to air resistance so that they can move at greater speeds than usual, and they can even fly by using the surrounding air currents.

Wind Release: Wind Dragon Bullet - This ninjutsu gathers together the surrounding air with wind chakra in the shape of a dragon and has it move according to the user’s will at the target. The blade-like chakra that composes it is able to shred anything the dragon touches and tears apart anything that becomes trapped within its maw.

Wind Release: Wind Dragon God – This ninjutsu is a more powerful version of the Wind Dragon Bullet with the serpentine dragon being twice its original size and possessing wings that slice through obstacles. The main difference is that the wind is highly compressed so that that dragon will detonate upon impact, releasing an explosion of cutting winds in every direction.

Wind Release: Wind Style Wall - This ninjutsu forces the air around the user to start whirling at high speeds to create a defensive barrier of wind. Like a tornado, the air’s rapid movement draws in incoming attacks and then blows them away after entering its boundary. The size of the shield can be varied so that it can protect both the user and other individuals or objects. The shape can also be changed so that it can take the form of a tornado, a dome to protect them from all angles or sphere if the user is in mid-air. Even as a defensive jutsu, the cutting nature of the chakra allows it to damage the opponent when they attack as well as protect the user.

Wind Release: Air Entrapment – This ninjutsu is an inversion of the Wind Style Wall which, instead of protecting the user, is designed to entrap a chosen target. It manipulates the air around the target to form a barrier of wind that cuts anything that tries to escape its boundary. Whilst escape is difficult, entering the barrier is easy. Depending on the user’s chakra level, they can potentially create a barrier that covers dozens of meters to enclose an entire area rather than a single target.

Wind Release: Unseen Screw – This ninjutsu infuses the air around the user’s arm with chakra and causes it to rapidly circulate around the limb. This takes the form of a drill as the chakra is concentrated at a single point over the user’s middle finger whilst the wind rotates at high speeds from it. It possess great penetrative properties that allow it through obstacles with a stabbing motion, but on top of that, it serves as a useful shield by having the wind blocking incoming attacks.

Wind Release: Shield of Wind – This ninjutsu extends chakra from the user’s palms to compress the air into a circular shield which is able to block physical attacks and jutsu just like the real thing. The shield also possesses a razor edge which can allow it to be adapted into a weapon by using it to slice through targets.

Wind Release: Wind Whip - This ninjutsu shapes the air into an invisible whip that extends from the user’s hands. The chakra-infused air moves just like a real whip which makes its movement unpredictable as the user swings it, and due to it being invisible it is incredibly difficult to avoid or defend against its attacks. Even a regular whip can break the skin with enough force so the wind chakra that composes this whip can do so even with the lightest touch.

Wind Release: Northern Wind – This ninjutsu gathers chakra just above ground level to create a pillar of wind that erupts from beneath the target’s feet, throwing them into the air at high speed. The force of the wind is dependent on the amount of chakra used and can vary how high the target is thrown and how fast. The ninjutsu can be altered so that the wind pillar is just a momentary gust or it can be sustained for an indefinite amount of time. This is typically used to throw an enemy off-balance or divert and incoming attack, but it can also be used to increase the user’s jump height, maintain an elevated position and redirect their falls.

Wind Release: Southern Wind – This ninjutsu is the opposite of Wind Release: Northern Wind as it instead of creating a rising pillar of wind, it creates a falling one. Chakra is focused in the air above the target and releases it in the form of air pressure. This air pressure literally drops down on the target and forces them to ground, ranging from having enough power to keep them immobilised to being able to crush the target. This jutsu is ideal against shinobi who are in mid-jump, in an elevated position or even capable of being airborne as it would knock them all to the ground.

Wind Release: Whirl Dance – This ninjutsu creates a twister that moves over the surrounding area according to the user’s will. The movement of the wind generates powerful suction to draw in enemies and object, limiting their own movements, and then cuts apart anything that gets trapped within it.

Wind Release: Gale Fist – This ninjutsu creates blocks of air that are highly compressed and are sent to forth at high speeds. The instant before contact, the wind compresses almost hundredfold and, after pointing to a certain direction, instantaneously expands to its original state like a spring, hitting the target with unbelievable strength. Given its effects, most users learn to use this jutsu without hand-seals so that it can be fired in time with their punches to enhance their taijutsu.

Wind Release: Tempest – This ninjutsu emits wind chakra from every part of the body simultaneously for an omnidirectional attack. It releases a shockwave which carries both great concussive force to knock back everything in the vicinity and cutting wind blades which slash them at the same time. It is limited by being a jutsu that has a short range and works best at point-blank, but the two-pronged attack results in its victims being both disoriented and heavily injured.

I decided to touch up some of the jutsu in my last post and added a few new ones. Now have some Earth Release:

Earth Release: Rock Fissure – This ninjutsu splits up the earth in long cracks that extend from the user’s position, tearing the ground apart to distort the landscape. It can be used to destabilize the target’s footing and have them fall underground through the cracks where the user can then return the earth to its original state, crushing anything that had been caught between.

Earth Release: Island Shaker – This ninjutsu grasps a section of the earth and forces it to tilt, reaching the point that the entire land is on its side or taken even further where it is flipped upside down to crush everything on its surface. A skilled user can seize multiple sections at the same time and have them tilt at different angles to turn the environment into an unpredictable mess.

Earth Release: Earth Totem – This ninjutsu causes a square-shaped pillar of earth to rise up from the ground and strike at the target. Offensively, it can be used to hit them with the blunt force as well as push them backwards and upwards as the pillar extends. But it can also be used to create an elevated platform by having the user or target standing upon its surface and rise up with it.

Earth Release: Stalagmite – This ninjutsu hardens a section of earth and then shapes it into a spear that erupts from the ground to pierce through the target. This is typically used to damage a target’s legs and limited mobility but it is possible to achieve a lethal blow by aiming for their internal organs.

Earth Release: Stalactite – This ninjutsu is based on Earth Release: Stalagmite but can only but used inside an enclosed area like a tunnel or area. It alters the earth that from the ceilings to cause one or more spears to erupt from above and rain down on the target. Whilst its usage is more limited than the other version, its range of effect makes it more likely to leave a lethal wound.

Earth Release: Stalagmite Genesis – This ninjutsu is a more powerful version of Earth Release: Stalagmite. Instead of creating a small number of spears, it creates a huge assortment of earthen spears that take on different shapes and sizes and explode from the ground to destroy everything caught within range. It is also a jutsu that needs to be used at range to prevent the user from being harmed from its effects and it is indiscriminate in its attack.

Earth Release: Rock Cannon – This ninjutsu dislodges a section of ground and shoots the hardened mass of earth up at an elevated target, smashing them with incredibly force and potentially crushing them when it drops back to the ground. With some skill, the user can force the chunk to split up into smaller ones whilst in-flight to land numerous, weaker attacks and catch the opponent off-guard.

Earth Release: Earth Sight – This is a sensory-type ninjutsu where the user releases their chakra through the ground which spreads outwards in a wave in every direction. This creates an image within the user’s image which shows them everything that is within or standing upon the ground within a certain range, even providing them with a solid outline. The user can continually send out pulses of chakra through the earth to maintain an awareness of their surroundings but this typically has a shorter range due to chakra requirements.

Earth Release: Eruption – This ninjutsu infuses an area with an unstable mass of chakra which causes it to explode up and outwards. This releases a number of razor-sharp rock shards which can slice through anything caught within the jutsu’s range of effects whilst the concussive force blasts them away.

Earth Release: Golem Palm – This ninjutsu increases the amount of earth with chakra and shapes it into a giant fist which can be used as an extension of the user’s body. The hand can be directed to grab and crush a target, act as a shield by blocking an incoming attack or work as a direct attack by punching the target with immense force. Its size can range from that of a regular hand which can trip up an opponent to that of an actual giant that can even grapple with giant animal summons.

Earth Release: Weight of the World – This ninjutsu causes four stone pillars to rise up to mark the boundaries of the jutsu which has the effect of increasing the weight of everything within its range. Whilst the effect is minimal at first, this weight increase steadily increases over time to make it more difficult for anyone to move until it reaches the point that it becomes impossible for them to move under their own power.

Earth Release: Planetary Orbit – This ninjutsu dislodges numerous chunks of rocks from the user and has them orbit the user like an asteroid field. By themselves, they will simply drift around the user to hamper an opponent’s vision, making it difficult for them to draw close whilst incidentally blocking attacks. But they can be made to move under the user’s guidance so that they move at varying speeds and in unpredictable patterns, capable of being made to attack and defend simultaneously.

Earth Release Armour – This ninjutsu is both similar and distinctively different from Earth Release: Earth Spear. Whilst both are a form of earth-natured chakra flow, this version actual generates earth that conforms to the shape of the user’s body to create protective armour. This makes for an excellent defence and increases the force of their blows but whilst the added weight can slow the user down, their control over the earth means that they are still able to move all of their limbs.

Earth Release: Mud Tsunami – This ninjutsu transforms the surrounding earth into mud and then forces it to rise up in a wave that moves to sweep the target away. The movement of the mud carries a lot of force that can knock a target unconscious and, on top of that, its viscosity makes it difficult to swim through to the point that they are unable to move and can drown it.

Earth Release: Ripple – This ninjutsu causes the earth to ripple outwards from the user’s position which can destabilise the footing of anyone in the surrounding area.

Earth Release: Roll Out – This ninjutsu gathers the earth into multiple, over sized balls which start to roll at high speeds under the user’s direction. They are able to roll through and flatten anything that gets caught in their path and, despite their size, have good maneuverability so they can turn with an ease that would catch most opponents off-guards.

Here's a few of mine:

Mugen: Migawari Bunshin (Scapegoat Clone): C-rank. Traps an opponent in an illusion where they believe they're defeating you handily, allowing you time to perform a killing blow. Very subtle, but easily dispelled. Can work on even the strongest ninja if they're blood-lusted enough.

Mugen: Myuto Tsukaku (Mute Pain): D-rank. A genjutsu that mutes the victim's sense of touch, making them less likely to pay attention to serious wounds. Can also be used to help in pick-pocketing. A Konoha Jounin is known for using this technique to steal the forehead protectors of other ninja right off their heads without them noticing.

Kaifuku fuji no Jutsu (Recovery Irregularity Technique): B-rank. A modified medical technique, this jutsu temporarily shuts down the victim's body's natural ability to heal. However, it can be easily countered by other med-nin.

Suiton: Akuajetto (Aqua Jet): C-rank. A modification to the body flicker, surrounding the user with a cloak of water shaped in a way that allows you to approach and even ram your opponent with less fear of being injured, by both enemies and recoil.

Suiton: Mizunowado (Water Pulse): B-rank. A mouth-launched shot, with an addition based on the principle that sound travels better in water. The pulse of water carries ultrasonic soundwaves that serve as a medium for immediate follow-up genjutsu.

Suiton: Mizu no beru (Veil of Water): C-rank. Somewhat self-explanatory, water is expelled from the mouth and surrounds the body, allowing for protection against weak fire jutsu. Can only be maintained as long as the user can hold their breath.

Doton: Daichi no chikara (Strength of the Earth): B-rank. Causes the earth under the target to erupt. The technique's rank is more due to it's speed than it's power.

Doton: Jiware (Fissure): A-rank. A division in the earth opens directly below the target, and slams it shut the moment that they've fallen deep enough. While this technique is normally not fast enough to capture experienced Jounin, the speed of the jutsu can be improved by prepping a piece of earth by marking the spot with a kunai imbued with earth chakra, and then leading the target close enough to the kunai. It can still be countered by jutsu that allow one to travel through the earth, if the target is fast enough.

Doton: Dorobakudan (Mud Bomb ): C-rank. Hard-packed mud balls are launched from the mouth. Explosive tags can be hidden within them.

Futon: Ekoboisu (Echoed Voice): D-rank. Allows the user to "throw their voice," as either a distraction or communicating with your allies without the enemy noticing. Range is significant.

Futon: Kaze Okoshi (Wind Revitalisation): D-rank. Stirs up a weak gust of wind in front of you that can deflect weapons.

Futon: Ayashii Kaze (Dazzling Wind): A wind version of Kumo's C's Lightning Illusion Flash of Lightning Pillar.

Tried out some Lightning Release. Not many come to mind, to be honest.

Lightning Release: Lightning Palm – This ninjutsu concentrates lightning chakra into the user’s hand which is then released into a target through touch. The electricity paralyses the victim by playing havoc on their nervous system to force their muscle to contract and render them temporarily helpless. The ninjutsu can also be used at short range by releasing the electricity in a burst to shock the target.

Lightning Release: Leaping Thunder – This ninjutsu shoots a bolt of lightning at the target to shock them. The main aspect of the jutsu is that the lightning doesn’t stop at the first target, instead it jumps from them to another and then again and again. The jutsu’s strength weakens each time but it is ideal for subduing multiple targets at close-to-mid range.

Lightning Release: Shock Wave – This ninjutsu releases a wave of lightning from the user’s body in every direction, carrying the concussive force to blast away and electrocute anyone caught within range.

Lightning Release: Ball Lightning – This ninjutsu concentrates lightning chaka into a ball between the user’s hands which is fired at the target and explodes upon impact.

Lightning Release: Lightning Dragon Bullet – This ninjutsu creates a dragon made of lightning chakra that is capable of severely damaging the nerves of anyone caught within its effect, and shoots streams of electricity as it flies. Out of all the dragon bullet jutsu, this one is the fastest.

Lightning Release: Lightning Striking – This ninjutsu creates a whip of lightning that moves like the real weapon and shocks the target with each strike.

Lightning Release: Thunder Web – This ninjutsu releases tendrils of electricity from the user’s hands to shock the target from a distance. Useful for keep an opponent at bay.

Demonic Illusion: False Injury - creates the illusion of having suffered a grievous injury. The injury can range from mild cuts or abrasions up life-threatening lacerations and even amputations. Targets fooled by the illusion will be impaired by the false injury as if it were real, and may not be able to continue fighting at all if the false injury is sufficiently crippling. Losing consciousness from illusionary blood loss is also possible, but actual death is not. This illusion is most effective if cast after the target suffers a real injury or is disoriented by an explosion or stun bomb in order to create a plausible opportunity for the crippling illusionary wound to have been inflicted.

Genjutsu: Sudden Vertigo - an illusion that disrupts the target's sense of balance, creating a sudden, powerful perception that the world is rapidly spinning around them. Until dispelled the target will suffer from dizziness and lightheadedness and will have great difficulty walking and standing upright. They may also suffer from nausea and vomiting. For best effect, the illusion should be cast when the target is leaping through the air or running at high speed - interrupting someone performing Shunshin with this genjutsu can be deadly.

Genjutsu: Illusionary Stalker - this illusion creates a sudden, intense sensation in the target that someone is standing right behind them while simultaneously setting off their danger sense. The urge to turn around and face this fake ambusher is extremely difficult to resist the first time it is experienced, which can grant a skilled user an excellent opportunity to strike at the distracted target. If the target opts to dodge instead, then the false ambushes can be used to herd the target around the battlefield and keep them paranoid. Even if the target realizes they are being tricked by an illusion this genjutsu can still be useful - once they've become inured to the false positive triggering of their danger sense and are able to ignore the genjutsu, that's when a clever user will signal their real clones or allies to attack the target from behind.

I never understood how hurting oneself was supposed to have an effect on chakra "hacking" their brain.

Resetting the senses? What does that even mean?

Pain alone obviously can't break an illusion since many genjutsu cause pain. I've always assumed it helped you tune out the illusion so you can focus better on flushing your chakra coils clean of the foreign chakra that's hacking your brain. So basically the pain doesn't affect the foreign chakra, but it can help snap you out of being mesmerized by whatever that foreign chakra is forcing you to experience so you can fight it.

I've got a series of taijutsu/lighting style techniques that have been floating through my head for a while.

Mach 1 Punch = a physical strike that breaks the sound barrier. Creating a sonic boom. Replace Mach # as appropriate. Can also be a kick, elbow, knee, or headbut.

Super-Sonic Storm = multiple Mach # attacks in close succession (ie a single attack).

Lightning Release: Electric Palm/Fist = runs a current through the users palm or first resulting in a similar result to a tazer's "drive stun" use. Basically it causes localized pain but doesn't disrupt the nervous system. Can be focused on other parts of the body with varying degrees of difficulty and name change.

Lightning Release: Neuromuscular Incapacitation = electric palm turned up. Can be a single strike, or with more difficulty, can be kept up for use on multiple opponents.

Lightning Release: Fist of the Lightning God = electric palm turned up to the level of outright electrocution. Can be fatal. Masters of the technique can control how damaging it is.

Thunder Punch/Kick/etc. = a supersonic attack combined with one of the above three techniques (or an equivalent).

Thunder Storm = electrified equivalent to the Super-Sonic Storm.

Lightning Release: Human Lightning Rod = a technique where-in the user uses their own body to ground any nearby lightning or lightning attacks. Often fatal.

Lightning Release: Body of the Lightning God = the user produces or absorbs a large amount of electrical energy which is used to supercharge his or her nervous system. As such the user's thought processes, reaction times, speed, strength, etc. are all greatly increased. In addition the users natural electromagnetic field is increased in size and strength. The power and duration of this technique depends on the user and how much electricity is absorbed, but at its most powerful can result in the user moving faster than the human eye can perceive, having a full-body Fist of the Lightning God, and in rare cases an electromagnetic shield around his or her body. This technique is extremely dangerous because as long as the "charge" lasts it is possible for the user to completely fry his or her own nervous system.

I kinda wonder why they don't spend more time thinking of the cool things they could do with the stuff that already exists...


Shuriken Kage Bunshin Daibakuha - Shuriken Shadow Clone Great Explosion
You can make one shuriken into hundreds of shurikens by using the Shadow Clone technique. You can make Shadow Clones violently explode. Need I say more?

Kage Bunshin + Henge
Solid clones that can transform into solid objects. This can be abused in so many ways it's ridiculous. At a moment's notice, you can summon a clone that can turn into a sword, or a wall, or a chair, or a tiger, or... a throwing weapon. Flying Thunder God? Who needs that when the kunai you throw can turn into another you?

Air Stepping
With the right amount of chakra, you can stick your feet to solid objects well enough to defy gravity and walk straight up a wall. With the right amount of constantly exerted chakra, you can walk on water, a liquid. Apply the same idea to air. No doubt it would be a leap up in difficulty, perhaps only possible with an ungodly use of chakra and could only be maintained for a single step, but... Imagine what you could do with that alone.

False Replacement
Kawarimi has you replace yourself with a log or some other object a moment before getting hit, while you bugger off somewhere else and leave an illusion of yourself over the object. Sometimes people get creative and put explosive notes on the log. Upon seeing the log, the enemy usually feels surprised and starts looking around, anticipating an attack from some other angle. What if you just took the hit yourself and then used Henge to turn yourself into a log? Your enemy is now looking around, wondering where you are, completely ignoring you because they think you're a log. Imagine if, instead of Henge, you used a genjutsu to make your enemy believe you've turned into a log, while you walk toward them with sword in hand. Imagine if you took the hit, then used Kawarimi to replace yourself with a Kage Bunshin, who used Henge to become a log.

Chakra Strings
Chakra strings are a method to manipulate objects from a distance. It's effectively telekinesis. And ninjas have only thought to use this ability to control puppets. What.

I think the only time I've seen chakra strings used for something other than puppet tech was when Reload!Naruto was preparing for battle. hmm:

Anywho, here's some water jutsu. One more and I'll have the whole set.

Water Release: Coastal Drowning – This ninjutsu manipulates a nearby water source and shapes it into a number of tentacles. These tentacles rise from the water and latch onto the target to pull them under, restraining their limbs to prevent them from swimming. Even whilst under the water, the tentacles continue to bind the victim and defy any struggle back to the surface.

Water Release: Bullet Festival – This ninjutsu allows the user to spit out a series of compressed bullets of water. Each bullet is no longer than a pebble but are shot with enough force to pierce through stone and instead of being limited to single shots, the user can fire them in rapid succession and over a wide area.

Water Release: Rain Shot – This ninjutsu spreads a number of water droplets in the air around the target which are then commanded to fire at high speeds. They move like bullet to pierce through the enemies and they scattered position allows them to attack from multiple angles.

Water Release: Water Knife – This ninjutsu gathers water into the user’s hand which then spins at extremely high speed to create a water cutter. This allows them to cut through obstacles even without having a weapon on hand.

Water Release: Aqua Gauntlet – This ninjutsu surrounds the user’s fist in a mass of water. This is useful for protecting the limb but its main asset is the water’s affinity for shape manipulation; the user can reshape the water to perform different tasks such as striking a target, grabbing them, whipping them or simply blasting them away.

Water Release: Whirlpool Current – This ninjutsu expels a stream of water from the user’s mouth which spins through the air like a whirlpool, generating enough force to tear through the target and blast them away.

Hundred Flying Water Spears of Death – This is a more advanced, deadlier version of Haku’s Thousand Flying Water Needles of Death. The same amount of water is condensed into a hundred spears rather than a thousand needles which are fired at the target simultaneously to run them through.

Killing Mist Technique – This ninjutsu is a more deadly variation of the Hidden Mist Technique. In appearance, its effect is identical as it blankets the surrounding area in mist to reduce visibility to zero and keep the user’s movements out of sight. But the main effect takes the form as the opponent(s) breathes in the moisture-laden air. The water makes it more and more difficult to breathe as it condenses and soaks into the lungs to the point they asphyxiate, literally drowning the target where they stand. However the progress of the jutsu is slow so unless the fight is drawn out for long enough, it is typically used to hamper the opponent and reduce their fighting ability for an easier defeat.

Summoning: Water Release: Tide Jewel – This jutsu is a combination of Water Release and space-time ninjutsu that was created by the Second Hokage, Senju Tobirama. In preparation for the jutsu, the user must seal away huge quantities of water from a river, lake, sea or ocean – anything that contains hundreds of gallons of water – using a storage sealing formula to store it within a pocket dimension. After performing the hand-seals, a sealing formula appears in the air in the shape of a three-dimensional sphere filled with water. This acts as a gateway to the pocket dimension which supplies the user with gallons of water to use in their ninjutsu without requiring a natural resource. Even releasing the jutsu would cause all the water contained within to spill out in a destructive wave.

This is impossible without using time/space ninjutsu. Water (and most other liquids) has extremely low compressibility. Even in the deep oceans at 4000 m depth where the pressure is over 6,000 psi (over 400 times standard atmosphere pressure at sea level) there is only a 1.8% decrease in volume. (for comparison, steel would experience a 0.025% decrease in volume at that pressure.) Even at the bottom of the Mariana Trench where the water pressure is 15,750 psi (over 1000 times standard atmospheric pressure at sea level), the volume of water is reduced only by 4.96%.

Admittedly, humans have invented industrial machines that can create pressures greater than that. Plastic injection molding machines and fuel injectors in diesel engines can hit upwards of 30,000 psi, and water jet cutting machines (that cut through hardened steel plate using only a jet of water - now there's an idea for a water jutsu!) can operate at pressures as high as 87,000 psi. But obviously those machines only pressurize relatively small amounts of water and they don't store the water at that pressure. The amount of pressure that would be needed to compress thousands of gallons of water into a sphere with the volume of one gallon would be immense, and certainly beyond the capabilities of any ninja.

Ah yeah, that thing Aang did in Avatar form when fighting Ozai. Even ignoring the nigh-impossibility of compressing water to that extreme of a degree, are there any ninja skilled enough to possibly use an avatar level waterbending technique?

And I didn't say it was impossible, just that it would require time/space ninjutsu to pull off. (Benders can't manipulate time/space like ninja can!) Just append that to the jutsu description and it's still good.

I've seen fics where thousands of gallons of water are stored in a storage scroll. You could probably come up with a jutsu to take advantage of that sort of thing.

Sarutobi was the only one to use the Shuriken Shadow Clone, and it's stated "to be a more advanced material Kage Bunshin than the regular Kage Bunshin," likely more difficult, and a creation of Sarutobi himself. Not the sort of technique anybody could use, but I wouldn't be surprised if Sarutobi in his prime did use something like the Shuriken Kage Bunshin Daibakuha, though.

Kage Bunshin + Henge - Solid clones that can transform into solid objects. This can be abused in so many ways it's ridiculous. At a moment's notice, you can summon a clone that can turn into a sword, or a wall, or a chair, or a tiger, or... a throwing weapon. Flying Thunder God? Who needs that when the kunai you throw can turn into another you?
Minato probably would be able to use this instead of his Hiraishin kunai... if he had stamina like Naruto's. Shadow Clones constantly drain the user's stamina. Naruto might be able to use this... if he had speed like Minato's.

And bunshin swords might be useful for assassination, or in situations where you can't bring a weapon, but having to summon a new one every-time you trade blows with an opponent hard enough to make your clone dispel sounds incredibly inefficient.

Air Stepping - With the right amount of chakra, you can stick your feet to solid objects well enough to defy gravity and walk straight up a wall. With the right amount of constantly exerted chakra, you can walk on water, a liquid. Apply the same idea to air. No doubt it would be a leap up in difficulty, perhaps only possible with an ungodly use of chakra and could only be maintained for a single step, but... Imagine what you could do with that alone.
The density of gases tend to be 1/1000 that of solids/liquids. That said, I think the fic "Troika Parallel" had Naruto given the nickname of "Wind Runner."

False Replacement - Kawarimi has you replace yourself with a log or some other object a moment before getting hit, while you bugger off somewhere else and leave an illusion of yourself over the object. Sometimes people get creative and put explosive notes on the log. Upon seeing the log, the enemy usually feels surprised and starts looking around, anticipating an attack from some other angle. What if you just took the hit yourself and then used Henge to turn yourself into a log? Your enemy is now looking around, wondering where you are, completely ignoring you because they think you're a log. Imagine if, instead of Henge, you used a genjutsu to make your enemy believe you've turned into a log, while you walk toward them with sword in hand. Imagine if you took the hit, then used Kawarimi to replace yourself with a Kage Bunshin, who used Henge to become a log.
This actually seems like a good strategy, almost a more advanced version of the trick Sakura pulled in the FoD in part 1. That said, taking a severe blow while maintaining the concentration necessary for a henge sounds difficult. Genjutsu idea sounds solid, but a blow solid enough that you'd want to Kawarimi away from it would probably dispel a shadow clone, and I don't know whether you can make other clones types look like logs.

After doing all that research on water compressibility I came up with a couple of new water jutsu.

Water Prison: Crushing Pressure - A higher ranked version of the Water Prison technique. After capturing the opponent in a large sphere of viscous water which inhibits movement or chakra usage, the user begins to steadily compress the water with their chakra. The increased pressure will compress any gases inside the victim's body, causing damage to their body tissues and forcing the air out of their lungs, quickly leading to death by drowning.

Water Release: Water Jet Cutter - A very difficult to perform jutsu, the water jet cutter emits a thin stream of ultra high pressure hypersonic water from the user's mouth. The water is pressurized in the user's mouth with their lips acting as the nozzle, so the pressure and resulting range and cutting power depends on the user's skill and their ability to reinforce their body with chakra. A low pressures water jet has less cutting power and a short range, losing cohesiveness after roughly five meters. Ultra high pressure jets are comparable to the most powerful wind jutsu in cutting power, capable of slicing through even several feet of solid metal effortlessly, and the range can exceed ten meters before beginning to lose cohesiveness and up to thirty meters before becoming completely harmless. This jutsu can be dangerous to the user however, as attempting to use more pressure than they can handle can cause severe damage to the mouth and throat.

Here's a few techniques that I plan to use in a few of my fics:

Paper Hand Technique: Konan molds her chakra that grants her hands a similar edge to a paper. Most weapons/enemies can't defend against that level of thinness/sharpness and therefore she is capable of becoming a dangerous melee fighter.

Water Release: Storm of the Depths: Only usable on oceans. Kisame sends a chakra ball deep into the ocean which then starts to suck and compress underwater currents into the shape of the ball, making a water bomb. When the critical level of pressure is reached, the ball detonates upward and release a massive underwater "storm" which erupt through the surface and expand in a rotating matter. The storm is made out of water droplets that move in a very rapid pace, meaning that whichever stands in the expanding water wall is quickly pummeled and pierced by the rapid never-ending water drops. Kisame was branded as a war criminal for using this technique which led to the death of many innocents.

Water Release: Sea Monster: Kisame releases water chakra from all his pores, which quickly is shaped to a towering sea monster that he can control with telepathic commands. It is capable of shifting shape and is incredibly hard to fight and stop due to the strong currents that is flowing all over its body. Kisame is also protected from harm due to hiding inside it. Kisame uses his full chakra levels to bring forth a titanic version that he uses to fight against most of the army of Konoha.

Ice Release: Igloo: Haku creates ice and shapes it into a igloo, for camping and defense purposes.

Fire Release: Hokage Soul: Fugaku releases the seal of this forbidden technique and lets his soul be temporarily transformed into primal fire. This grants him the ability to create and control fire without using chakra. He is also able to temporarily turn into fire in order to avoid damage. He is completely immune against fire based attacks while this technique is active. It does have a time limit, depending on his chakra levels when he activated the seal.

Water Release: Monsoon: Hanzo releases his chakra into the sky with calculated patterns of water chakra pulses, which changes the weather on such a scale that a monsoon is generated and quickly picking up force and speed. It takes roughly 10 minutes to be at full force and it can sustain itself for days. The presence of the monsoon weakens most enemies and strengthen Hanzo, who excel at fighting in a wet environment. Hanzo is deemed one of the greatest threats of the Elemental Countries due to the environmental damages that this technique is capable of.

Sealing Technique: Black Seal: A security measure, records all activities of whichever it is placed on. The seal releases a alert signal to the seal command center of whichever faction that it belongs to if whichever it is placed on goes inactive or is damaged. Ninja with the access of the command center can unlock the seal (or its remains) and extract data, in order to find out about the latest activities before the seal went inactive. A great thing to put on various defenses such as traps and gates, as the amount of data in the seal can tell the attacked forces much on what the enemy is capable of. Think of a seal version of Black box (transportation).

Lightning Release: Thunder Towers: The invisible defense of Kumogakure. This technique draws the chakra of most ninja in the village and discharge it into the clouds above the village. If the village is invaded, then the chakra is released and shaped into towers of sound that is placed in strategically important spots on the village, which then release constant thunders that react negatively against all who do not have the native chakra that was used to empower the technique. The technique can only last for a few hours at most before it needs to recharge but this is more than enough to weaken the invaders, leaving the cloud ninja the easy task of disposing them. This makes the village nigh-impossible to invade and conquer.

Finally got to around to doing some fire jutsu to complete the set. And probably took some liberties in how you can use them.

Fire Release: Fire Encampment Wall – This defensive ninjutsu has the user expel a stream of fire that encircles them to form a burning wall. The fire-natured chakra burns anything that comes into contact with it, vaporising it before reaching the user and keeping the protected from harm. However fire chakra isn’t suited for defence and if used improperly or over a long period, then it can harm the user as well through the heat or burns.

Fire Release: Burn Blossom – This ninjutsu shoots a series of small fireballs towards the target. Their size makes them look relatively weak but this is actually a result of fire chakra being compressed into a smaller size. Upon impact the fireballs explode into a fiery conflagration that consumes everything around the impact zone.

Fire Release: Red Hawk – This ninjutsu moulds chakra into the shape of birds of prey that fly through the air towards the target as guided by the user. They can control the flight of each bird individually to have them attack at different angles and blindside the opponent.

Fire Release: Dragon Fang – This ninjutsu concentrates fire chakra into both of the user’s hands to shroud them in burning flames. Unlike wind and lightning, fire chakra isn’t suited for cutting or piercing which makes this jutsu more suited for blunt damage. It turns a regular punch into a scorching blow as it is strengthened by the concussive force and flames erupt whenever it makes contact to burn the opponent.

Fire Release: Sun Blade – This ninjutsu emits fire chakra from the user’s hand and extends it into a blade that is able to both cut through obstacles by burning or melting straight through them.

Fire Release Armour – This ninjutsu flows chakra through all parts of the user’s body which causes them to become completely enshrouded in fire, vastly increasing their offensive power. The heat produced by their body can cause burns just by proximity and the flames can eat away at anything they touch.

Fire Release: Hell Mouth – This ninjutsu causes a pillar of fire to rise up from beneath the target’s feet, erupting like a geyser to burn anything caught within its reach to ashes.

Fire Release: Loyal Spear – This ninjutsu spits out fire that has been compressed inside the body and then shaped into a spear-like constructs. They shoot through the air at an impressive and their concussive force allows them to break through obstacles easily. They are designed to pierce through the target and then lose cohesion, bursting into flames that consume the victim.

Fire Release: Grand Fireworks – This ninjutsu expels a large fireball from the user which resembles that which is created by Fire Release: Grand Fireball. The difference being the after it has been fired, the user can command the fireball to split into several smaller ones that fly off in every direction. This is ideal for catching an opponent off-guard as they avoid the most obvious threat and leave themselves open.

Fire Release: Tongue Brand – This ninjutsu emits fire chakra from the user’s hand and shapes it into a whip. It can be used like the real weapon but being made of chakra grants the user more control over its movement and has the added effect of burning whatever its strikes.

Scorch Release: Withered Touch – This ninjutsu allows the user to evaporate the water within a target through direct physical contact and leaving them a desiccated husk.

Scorch Release: Heat Wave – This ninjutsu expels scorching chakra from the user’s lung as a gas which fills the area in front of them. Anything that steps within the gas suffers from dehydration.

Scorch Release: Wasteland – This ninjutsu turns the surrounding landscape into a desert wasteland by channelling the user’s chakra into the ground and dehydrating it. Without the moisture, it crumbles and collapses into broken earth and sand.

Scorch Release: Dead Wasteland – This ninjutsu is a more powerful version of Scorch Release: Wasteland. After channelling their scorching chakra into the ground, not only is the earth dehydrated but anything and anything standing upon the ground suffers from the same effects. This includes buildings, plants and people that are touching it without the jutsu’s range of effect.


Lava Release: Hot Swamp – This ninjutsu transforms a section of the earth into a pit of lava. Anything and everything that was standing upon it sinks and is consumed by the molten rock. Even if someone is able to stand atop of the pit using the chakra then the heat will continue to burn them and eat away at their lower body.

Lava Release: Lava Geyser – This ninjutsu generates a mass of lava beneath the target and increases the pressure until it erupts. The combination of concussive force, heat and molten rock destroys anything caught in the blast which then showers the surrounding area with falling lava.

Lava Release: Boiling River – This ninjutsu transforms the earth into a river of lava that eats through the ground under the user’s direction and drags down anyone caught in its current.

Lava Release: Molten Upsurge – This ninjutsu creates lava which rises up into a huge wave to sweep over the landscape, engulfing everything before the user with force like a tsunami.

Lava Release: Lava Encampment Wall – This ninjutsu manipulates the earth or creates lava directly from the user’s body to generate lava which rises up to form a wall. The molten rock solidifies into a hardened construct that retains its heat and protects the user from incoming attacks.

Lava Release: Lava Surge – This ninjutsu has the user spits out a stream of lava from their mouth at the target. The lava blows them back and clings to their body as it burns them down to nothing.


Explosion Release: Trigger Blast – This ninjutsu infuses matter with explosive chakra which can be detonated at the user’s command or when triggered. It can be applied to ground to create a mine, a projectile weapon which explodes upon impact or on a variety of objects to form a trap.

Explosion Release: Bomber Run – This ninjutsu is an unusual form of propulsion which propels the user by generating explosions. They can blow up the ground beneath their feet whilst running to make them cover greater distances at a faster speed or even blow up the air itself to ‘fly’ or change direction.

Explosion Release: Air Bomb – This ninjutsu is a ranged attack which concentrates explosive chakra within a specific point in the user’s line-of-sight and detonates it. This typically used on the ground, a building or trees but, if the user is skilled enough, they can generate an explosion in mid-air provided they are able to concentrate it without a visible target. It is impossible to directly blow up a human target with this jutsu but they can detonate the space around them instead.

Explosion Release: Landmine Delay – This ninjutsu is a variation of Explosion Release: Landmine Fist which still infuses the target with explosive chakra but without blowing them up immediately. Instead the chakra remains inside the target and only explodes at the user’s command. This is ideal for turning opponents into human bombs and using them as a trap against other enemies, though it can be detected by sensors or even victim themselves.

This is a set of techniques for a kekkei genkai I made up called Pressure Release, which is a combination of Earth and Wind chakra. It combines earth release's ability to manipulate density with wind release's ability to control air in order to control air pressure and create vacuums.

Forewarning: I am terrible at thinking up creative names for techniques. I'm sure Knight could come up with some more artistic names for these jutsu if he wants to, but otherwise you'll have to live with my unimaginative, purely descriptive names.

Pressure Release: Air Pressure Blast - This ninjutsu compresses a huge quantity of air molecules into the user's palm and releases it outwards in a wide directed blast of supersonic wind capable of leveling trees and deflecting incoming weapons and jutsu.

Pressure Release: Air Pressure Bomb - This ninjutsu compresses a huge quantity of air molecules into a small sphere, which the user can then thrown by the user. The sphere breaks on impact, releasing a powerful supersonic blast of wind capable of pulverizing the average ninja instantly. Being made of air the sphere is nearly transparent, which can make it difficult to dodge in reduced visibility conditions.

Pressure Release: Pressure Mine - The ninjutsu compresses a huge quantity of air molecules into a small sphere, which remains hovering in the air where it was formed. The sphere breaks upon physical contact, releasing a powerful supersonic blast of wind capable of pulverizing the average ninja instantly. Being made of air the sphere is nearly transparent, which can make it difficult to spot in reduced visibility conditions. The user can pass through his own mines unhindered.

Pressure Release: Proximity Mine - Creates a pressure mine which detects and homes in on any relatively large source of chakra which comes within ten meters of it. Has a reduced blast radius compared to the regular contact pressure mine.

Pressure Release: Remote Mine - Creates a pressure mine which can be detonated at will. Has a reduced blast radius compared to the regular contact pressure mine.

Pressure Release: Pressure Minefield - An advanced ninjutsu which creates dozens of pressure mines at once and spread them out over a large area. These mines can be any mix of any variety of pressure mines types.

Pressure Release: Solid Air Construct - This ninjutsu compresses an immense amount of air into a small space until it becomes dense enough to state change into a solid object. These objects can take a variety of geometric shapes, ranging in size from a few centimeters to thirty meters across, and can be controlled remotely by the user for a variety of purposes. Common created items include weapons, shields and barricades, and tools for binding or imprisoning opponents. The use can also choose to violently release the constructs at will, releasing an incredibly powerful blast of supersonic wind.

Pressure Release: Solid Air Flight - By creating a solid air construct around their own body, the user can fly at will, as well as create a kind of solid air armor which protects them from enemy attacks.

Pressure Release: Vacuum Blade - This ninjutsu decompresses air until a near vacuum is created. The user charges their hand with Pressure nature chakra and chops through the air swiftly enough to force apart air molecules, launching a blade of vacuum towards their target. Upon contact with a solid object the vacuum blade violently implodes, sucking in nearby matter with enough force to rip a normal shinobi in half.

Pressure Release: Vacuum Bullet - The user exhales while using Pressure nature chakra to decompress the air in their mouth, then spits out a large, fast moving ball of vacuum capable of tearing straight through several meters of solid steel.

Pressure Release: Vacuum Field - This ninjutsu allows the user to almost completely decompress the air around them in a large area, while protecting themselves with a bubble of solid air. The field will nullify any wind jutsu which enter it, blocks all sound and anyone else who enters the vacuum will be unable to breath and will suffer damage to their lungs if they don't exhale first.

(Question: Does fire chakra need to burn oxygen like normal fire does? If so then the vacuum field will also nullify most fire jutsu)

Maybe yes, maybe no. Even though it's not real fire, it can still be extinguished by water so it has the same weakness. Though that might be because of the heat being nullified rather than the oxygen being removed.

Three sets here and I'm assuming that Boil Release does more that just create acidic vapour and that's just Mei's personal preference thanks to her other kekkei genkai. Otherwise the entire style would consist of one jutsu and I'd be very sad.


Boil Release: Seethe Stream – This ninjutsu has the user spit out a stream of corrosive liquid to engulf a target. Depending on the desired range, this can be a thin, high-powered stream that can hit a single target over a long distance or it shot as a wide wave which covers a broader area over a shorter distance.

Boil Release: Discharge Scald – This ninjutsu has the user spit globes of acid at the target to eat through their body. Even dodging the attack doesn’t nullify the danger as the acid evaporates into a corrosive vapour that fills the area.

Boil Release: Secretion – This ninjutsu causes the user’s pores all over their body to start secreting acid to corrode through the things they touch. It can take the form of a thin, unnoticeable layer over their skin or it can become a thick, protective sheet. It is an ideal jutsu for close combat as it prevents an opponent from grabbing onto the user without suffering burns.

Boil Release: Boiling Point – This ninjutsu is able to transform an existing, natural water source to grant it acidic properties by infusing it with boiling chakra. Just like real acid, the water corrodes anything that enters and eats away at anything unfortunate to be within it at the time.


Storm Release: Laser Dream – This ninjutsu fires a single beam from the user’s hand which, when they command it, splits into several beams to strike one or more targets. The change is extended to catch the opponent off-guard in thinking that only one attack needs to be dodged.

Storm Release: Bang Ray – This ninjutsu shoots a concentrated beam from the user’s finger to burst through the target. With only a single laser to control, it can be made to move in a number of complex patterns to make its flight path as unpredictable as possible.

Storm Release: Tempest Laser – This ninjutsu concentrates storm chakra inside their body and then release it from their mouths, shooting out a wide, destructive blasts that obliterates whatever is caught in their path.

Storm Release: Concealed Ray – This ninjutsu shoots beams through the earth rather than directly at the target. Their movement is kept concealed by moving underground so the target is caught by surprise as the beams attack from beneath.


Magnet Release: Magnetic Shield – This ninjutsu creates a bubble of magnetic force around the user which has the effect of repelling any iron or steel weapon from passing through, making it ideal for deflecting projectiles.

Magnet Release: Lightning Rod – This ninjutsu concentrates a magnetic force before the user which causes it to attract any magnetic substances within the area. All these substances converge onto a single point, ideally creating a mass of matter which can be controlled as the user wills it.

Magnet Release: Blade Storm – This ninjutsu is used in conjunction with kunai as the user manipulates dozens of them to hover above the target, spin rapidly in place, and then rain down upon the target with incredible force.

Magnet Release: Shuriken Whirlwind – This ninjutsu is used in conjunction with large shuriken as the user manipulates them to surround the target and circle them in a tornado-like formation to cut them apart.

Magnet Release: Magnetic Sword Dance - A Kumogakure kenjutsu style which involves using Magnet Release to wield dozens of swords simultaneously by sticking them to non-traditional parts of the body. The user attacks in in a bizarre and unpredictable manner - spinning like a buzzsaw, constantly switching up the locations of the blades on their body and using magnetic chakra to unexpectedly extend and throw the blades like boomerangs at will. Even a skilled sharingan user will have trouble reading the user's movements or finding an opening, and the blades can be charged with lightning chakra to increase their cutting power. Killer B is the only shinobi without the Magnet Release bloodline to have become an expert in this legendary kenjutsu style, although he is limited to using only seven blades at a time, must hold them in his joints and cannot retrieve them easily once thrown.

Magnet Release: Iron Armor (this really needs a better name) - this ninjutsu allows the user wear unreasonably thick metal armor without suffering any restrictions to their mobility by using Magnet nature chakra to carry the weight of the metal for them. In fact a skilled enough user can actually move faster by using the armor as a fulcrum to throw their own body around. This jutsu was made famous by the legendary Kumogakure jounin, Fullmetal Ryota, who wore a full body concealing suit of reinforced antique armor over ten centimeters thick in battle. He was nearly indestructible, he could fly by levitating his own armor, his Magnet powered metal punches were devastating, and he could accelerate and move nearly as fast as the Raikage.

My own kekkei genkai called Thunder Release which creates and manipulates sound and is formed from a combination of Wind and Lightning. Wind to manipulate the air molecules and Lightning to generate the vibrations.

Thunder Release: Forbidden Voice – This ninjutsu is able to render a specific location silent by nullifying the vibrations that would travel through the air. How this jutsu is applied can be done in various ways; completely nullifying all sound within an area so no noise is generated, preventing any sound from entering or leaving an area or have it set up around a specific individual to render them deaf or have other deaf to them.

Thunder Release: Oncoming Storm – This ninjutsu creates the sound of thunder within their vicinity. But unlike actual thunder, the close proximity of this intense crashing noise causes it to deafen and stun the opponent and the force of it strikes them like a physical blow. It isn’t difficult to burst a person’s eardrums with this jutsu which makes it useful for quickly subduing multiple foes.

Thunder Release: Sonic Screw – This ninjutsu surrounds the user’s hand in sound waves and uses the high frequency vibrations to pierce through a target, similar to the Raikiri or Hell Thrust. But an extra application of this jutsu has the user transmit the vibrations through the victim’s body to attack them internally, something which can also be used on solid objects to destroy them.

Thunder Release: Voice Lift – This ninjutsu is able to amplify the user’s voice. By itself, this this isn’t particularly impressive and is mainly used for projecting their voice over greater distances or catching an opponent off-guard with a shout. But a number of variation of this jutsu take this principle and form it into a more deadly attack.

Thunder Release: Panic Attack – This ninjutsu amplifies the user’s voice as they scream to produce a sound beyond what can usually be achieved. The sound is so loud and off a high enough frequency that it is extremely painful to hear, to the point that it’s debilitating to anyone within range and can even force them to unconsciousness.

Thunder Release: Sonic Scream - This ninjutsu amplifies the user’s voice as they shout to produce concussive force capable of destroying objects. The shape of the blast can be controlled to take the form of a linear beam, condensed spheres, an expanding wave or an omnidirectional blast.

Thunder Release: Rhythm Fist – This ninjutsu channels sound waves through the user’s fists to attack the opponent internally when they punch.

Thunder Release: Quaker – This ninjutsu releases sound wave vibrations through the earth to generate an earthquake

Thunder Release: Thunderclap – This ninjutsu gather thunder-natured chakra into the user’s hand which they slap together, releasing a concussive shockwave that expands outwards from the point of impact and can shatter objects.

Thunder Release: Night Lullaby – This ninjutsu releases a high-pitch tone over a wide area, overloading the hearing on anything within range and knocking them unconscious.

Thunder Release: Sonar Seeker– This ninjutsu releases sound waves out into the environment and then has the user listen to the echoes that return from various objects near them, and use these echoes to locate and identify the objects. This can be performed by projecting their voice over an area or, if the user is sufficiently skilled, they can release this sound waves at an undetectable frequency.

And that just leaves Wood and Ice Release...

Thunder Release seems like it could be quite effective if combined with genjutsu. Using Voice Lift you could trap people in illusions from much farther away than a normal sound based genjutsu.

Very true. I was tempted to throw in some sound/mind jutsu like emotion-manipulating music, command voice, hypnotic voice etc but I figured I'd save that for when I'm doing genjutsu.

Now I'm wondering how a Pressure Releaser user and a Thunder Release user fight would go down. A Vacuum field could probably shut down most Thunder jutsu, but a Sonic Screw or Rhythm Fist might be able to sabotage a solid air construct or even detonate them back towards the Pressure ninja.
