Naruto Kakashi and Rin of the Mirror

So I think this idea needs fleshed out and made into a story, so this can kinda be a centralized dumping ground for the idea.

The idea being, of course, a Kakashi/Rin battle couple where each have a Sharingan eye from Obito.

This can either be an actual pairing, a genfic, or they could just both awkwardly dance around it, it seems like.

Right now the general idea seems to be that, instead of his left side, the boulder crushes his bottom half/three-quarters. Rin transplants his eye into Kakashi. From here there are a few options. Rin needs to take his last eye with her. This could be as simple as Obito trying to make sure his eyes are accounted for, or for him to deliberately ask Rin to use his final eye to protect herself.

One way or another, Rin takes the eye with her. She can either replace her own eye, or lose hereye soon after- on the way home, for example.

End result is that Kakashi and Rin end up interesting mirrors of each other. You have the defensively-based medic... who can phase through things. (dodging? what dodging?!) and the offensive assassin that can make other things phase out of reality.

Both eyes together seem to allow shared vision, since obito could see from kakashi's eye. It's unknown if Kakashi could see through Obito's, but we could have a minor two paths of sharingan thing going here.

Now then, the huge divergences- for one, the Uchiha clan would likely be displeased about one sharingan eye going into the Hatake, but the heat of the moment and the fact that it was Obito's last wish might dull that somewhat. Two eyes, though, with one being a premeditated surgery later?

Lots of drama there.

Another big deal- Rin's kidnapping attempt. This could go one of two ways- either she never gets captured in the first place to have the bijuu implanted in her, or she manages to use her sharingan to make up for the unstable seal long enough for JIraiya to be found and fix/change/whatever it- and Konoha gains a stable jinchuuriki.

Then, the huge, huge deal. Without the sharingan in his left eye... Obito can't make himself intangible. He legitimately DOES die. What does this leave the aging, crippled Madara with? There is no tobi. How does this change Akatsuki?

Hell, how does this change Kakashi? He hasn't actually lost everyone in his life.

Finally, how does this change Team seven, or Naruto? Rin being a jinchuurki along with naruto would change interactions. Would she force kakashi into meeting him earlier? Would she be a constant presence around team 7? Around naruto? Would she have jinchuuriki-specific things to teach Naruto?

EDIT: Holy shit, an even larger divergence- Isobu staying in Rin means that Yagura never becomes the Jinchuuriki of the three tails. Does this mean there's no bloodline purge? What does that mean for Haku? Kiminaro? Zabuza and the rest of the seven swordsman?

Seems difficult for them to achieve the Mangekyou in this scenario. Even if only one of them has to do the deed because they're a pair, who would they kill and why? Rin mercy killing a friend on the operation table? Kakashi being forced to hunt a traitorous comrade?

Oh, or maybe the damage that Obito took from the fallen rock would have meant for a slow, painful death and the pair mercy-killed him.

Kakashi and Rin could cause frosty relations between the Uchiha and the village. The clan makes an uproar over two outsiders running around with their eyes but higher-ups don't have an issue with it. They're hardly gonna pluck the eyes back out. There could even be accusations that the pair of them kill Obito and stole his eyes. Dunno how big a deal that would become when this scenario probably wouldn't involve a Kyuubi attack.

If Rin's got the Kamui, then she probably wouldn't be captured and she'd be like one of the best escape artists ever. Though I doubt Kiri needs her specifically and could capture any poor sap to act as their weapon carrier.

I guess Kakashi spends less time at the memorial stone? Less guilty over all but he doesn't really came across as damaged or unhappy most of the time.

I figure Madara's gonna use his Zetsu to communicate with Nagato and use him in his plans directly. A random thought: he decides to bring himself back really early by forcing Nagato revive him so he could do what Tobi was doing himself.

If Rin somehow does become the Sanbi jinchuuriki proper, then I doubt it'd effect the bloodline prejudice. Considering Haku's mother was likely one of those forced into hiding, it was apparently going on prior to Haku's birth which I'd guess was around the time Obito became Tobi in the first place since he was 15. Maybe without the Sanbi, Yagura's a lot less powerful and gets killed off by someone - either in the war or by one of his subordinates.

Another thing I was thinking of- with Tobi actually being dead, does the Kyuubi attack even happen?

How does THAT play out differently if Rin is a jinchuuriki?

Tobi doesn't have to die in this divergence. The Zetsu can pass through solid rock, they could easily rescue Obito. Actually they might have even done so in canon, because I am not convinced that Obito somehow magically used his Mangekyou jutsu before actually awakening the Mangekyou, no matter how much Madara vaguely implied that that's what happened.

The question is how would Obito go about enacting the Moon's Eye Plan without his ridiculously overpowered Mangekyou Sharingan. He'll still have half a Zetsu body, and Madara could give him the single basic Sharingan he had implanted in his right eye socket since he's planning to die anyway, but Obito sure won't be ripping bijuu out of jinchuuriki, enslaving the Mizukage with genjutsu, going head-to-head with Minato or confronting the entire Kage summit with his ultimatum with just a regular stolen Sharingan. And that's assuming he still agrees to help Madara at all since Rin and Kakashi probably aren't going to mercy kill each other and he probably won't be witnessing their deaths first hand without the shared vision.

Madara or Zetsu tries to fight the 4th during Naruto's birth?

Perhaps Madara could forcibly take over Nagato's mind and body with his chakra like he tried to do with Obito just before Obito (somehow) figuratively told him to fuck off and made himself a Jinchuuriki instead of a reviving Madara. Then he could force Nagato to revive him and keep him around as a useful pawn. The real Madara won't be singlehandedly conquering the world without being an invulnerable zombie and he won't have an intangible, nigh-invincible teleporting minion to go around manipulating everyone behind the scenes, but he'd be strong as fuck and he'd have Akatsuki and Amegakure under his control. Perhaps he could even recruit Otogakure to his cause by offering Orochimaru the secrets of the Rinnegan.

Was there ever anything said about the Zetsu being able to carry on his will?

Actually, was there ever anything said where Madara was going to die? He might just hang on to life and direct the zetsu.

Before he died Madara infused some of his chakra into one of the Zetsu, which turned it half black and gave it a second personality. So that Black Zetsu is sort of a weak clone of Madara and will continue to carry on his plans even after the real one dies.

And Madara could presumably live forever as long as he's attached to the Gedo Mazou statue that's providing him with life sustaining chakra. He stated he would have died long ago without it. But he's obviously not happy to be alive as a weak, leashed old cripple which is why he willingly severed the cable and died after preparing Obito to become his successor. In this divergence I was thinking that instead of leaving his resurrection by Nagato to happen when the time is right and be enforced by Obito, Madara would instead be forced to directly take control of Nagato earlier and force Nagato to kill and revive him in a younger body.
