Well, whatd'ya know? Such things causes me to start pondering matters and comming up with ideas for possible fics.
So, here's a brief outline for the start of Keeping Skeeters Secrets or Skeeter Keeper, or whatever else I'll finally wind up calling it...

Harry takes Rita Skeeter instead of Hermione and she swears allegiance to Harry in return for her release from captivity. She uses the scar as a focus for her oath, which causes a few unexpected side effects as the taint from the Killing Curse twists the magical oath.
Instead of just a promise not to betray his secrets and only write the truth about him from now on, the connection to Harry's scar cause her to start 'bleeding' life energy that is sucked into the tainted scar when she is separated from Harry.
Harry himself is protected from this mainly by the prophecy, but also from his mothers sacrifice, so the life-ending capabilities of the Killing Curse goes elsewhere for sustenance and once Skeeter has a magical connection to him, well...
In order to remain healthy and in the long run, alive, she has to stay no less then fifteen meters away from him at all times as that causes her to share somewhat in his magical protection. If she doesn't, she grows ill when she gets further away from him then that. The greater the distance, the more severe her condition becomes until it'll eventually cause her death.
So for the sake of her health, she moves in with Harry at Privet Drive in order to spend the summer in close proximity to him, much to the disgust, shock and displeasure of the Dursley's, as she claims to be there in order to write a biography about the 'famous Harry Potter'.
