IGA confirms that if the campaign hits 3 million, which it should easily do, "Armature Studio will join the fray to handle the Wii U version" per their most recent update. This is a company founded by some ex Retro folks, who have done a lot of vita ports, as well as the borderlands handsome collection and Batman's blackgate game.
Keen. I've got a copy coming, but if it's decent I might just get it for the Wii U as well. Metroidvania games make good toilet titles using the gamepad screen.
Looks like the vita version was also fully funded.

Also, super early animation test!

Looks on point so far. They mention they will change her walk to a jog animation though.

Also announced that the posted that comes with the $250 collectors box is by Yoshitaka Amano, who will hand sign them for the new $800 tier.

Game is sitting at $3,701,791 on kickstarter with an additional $118k from Paypal backers. Should easily clear 4million by the end. 4.75 woudl be ideal, though, 5 million would be the dream.

Mighty No. 9 Trailer.
It's totally worth it. I've been playing this for months on Steam early access because I backed the Kickstarter. It's an updated classic Mega Man in every way but the name. It's far more like X than the older games or newer titles.

It's deliciously hard and intense. If this was a Mega Man game it would be one of the best ever.

I don't understand everyones hate for it, honestly. I think some folks literally expected a 2d, hand drawn game like the concept art. Well, save for the concept art that was clearly 2.5 D renders.

Shante: 1/2 Genie Hero has a new trailer out as well:

Looking very solid. $45 tier folks got beta codes today as well.

Bloodstained is sitting at $4,070,017 + 120,000+ in paypal funds. Already the 3rd most funded game in kickstarter history from kickstart funds alone. With two + days to go, it may just take the number 1 spot.

And the secret 5 million stretch goal? A roguelike dungeon. That's right, a randomized castleviania style dungeon, complete with seeds and such.

Iga and crew have passed $5.5 mil. Meaning all stretch goals have been met for Bloodstained.

As of 110 minutes to go the Kickstarter page has reached over $5.3 mil with the Paypal donations covering the rest. Anything more at this point is just icing on the cake for the devs.

With all the goals making their way into the game, this may end up being the most epic Metroidvania, more "vania' than "Metroid", game ever made. I was looking forward to it to begin with, but now with Boss's Revenge, and the Roguelike mode as well, it could shape up to be something really special.

The team involved here at east give me confidence that it won't suck, even if it isn't the best thing the genre has ever put out, I'm betting it'll make the top ten just based on the team that's making it.

IIRC, this is probably the highest budget ever for an igavania line game. Granted, they seemingly have a huge list of modes and extras they want to do.

The final tally was a whopping $5,545,991 plus like $200,000+ from paypay. Probably going to lose what, 15% to kickstarter and payment fees, not to mention physical goods and such. Probably around what, 8-9 million for the budget of the actual game, not counting engine/rent/legal/firstparty fees, etc.

Red Ash by Kenji Inafune

This might be doing better if you had some gameplay footage old friend. That said....I'm getting a real "Mega Man Legends" vibe from the whole thing.

A vibe? Come on. Inafune can't make it more obvious. I mean for chrissakes, he's named the main guy and main girl "Beck" and "Call". You can't get any more blatant here, Red Ash is another way for Inafune to tell Capcom to suck it.

I'm actually quite enjoying this quiet little war. I'll toss a bit to this just to keep it going.

It's blatantly obvious, I mean he named the company "Comcept" as a dig at his former employers.

Not to sound too negative, but Red Ash could have perhaps waited a few months.

Keiji Inafune lost a good chunk of support with the hiring of an outspoken misandrist. Video games are like sports, your main demographic doesn't have a matching pair of chromosomes. Unlike sports fans however, we won't take a beating and become your best friend.

Spurn us, shun you and all that rot.

With her separating from the company not too long ago, the best way of building public support would be to show us what our efforts bore into fruition. If Mighty No.9 comes out next month, blows us away by being a fun, complete game and isn't riddled with bugs he'll have done something Capcom hasn't regularly done in years.

Hell, the game's a quarter of the way funded already at just past two days so I must be blowing smoke. I'll keep an eye on it though, might chip in a bit when there's a backer tier that supports my console peasantry.

I've been playing Mighty No. 9 for several months, and it's fucking amazing. Old School Megaman X in a new coat of paint. Seriously check it out when it drops if you're not in on the beta already.

Smile and nod at the goobergrape folks. And then back away from the 13 year old slowly. No one outside KIA cares about any of that stuff.

The actual real issue is that hes asking for another spiritual successor while a lot of folks are still pissed about art style choices for his last game. It would have been smarter to wait, and let the finish goods speak for themselves before starting this campaign.

As someone who didn't back it, it actually looks pretty fun from the most recent videos. I've never understood the complaints about the art style myself, it was always pretty clear that it wasn't going to be 2d zoomed in sprites.

The art reminds me a bit of megaman crossed with Klonoa 2, honestly, and that's not a bad place to be.

Agreed. The style doesn't matter near as much as the gameplay, and it's pure Mega Man X zen.

Even with that said, the game looks good. I'm fine with the departure from 2d sprite based graphics. It works and helps differentiate the game from the MM series, which is a good thing.

It's not exactly like 'playing an anime' but it's slick enough and works for what it needs to do.

If the biggest complaint someone has about a game is 'it doesn't look enough like a cartoon' then they've really got nothing to complain about.

They could make such a look, but not for the amount of money they had. High end cel shading like that is pricy i'd imagine.

I remember bloodstained got a major funding boost when they showed their animation test, because it looked a lot like the concept art. Granted, it was literally using it as a texture iirc. Really interested to see what it looks like as a final product. 2017 can't get here fast enough.

inXile's The Bard's Tale 4 Kickstarter concluded yesterday to the tune of a cool $1.5 million and change. That's a pretty good amount, but it's lower than both Torment and Wasteland 2 and missed the final two stretch goals, which would have brought in guest writers and added an area, as well as visible armor on the character models. Guess 1st person dungeon crawlers are less popular than we'd hoped. Maybe the paypal? We can only hope.

But seriously throw money at these people they're cool.

Thank goodness the only other game I'm buying this year is Fallout 4....
Given what happened to Battle Chasers LAST time I really wonder if it'll be out before 2020. I think they were even late in announcing the comic was canceled.
I'd rather have another decent SP Mechwarrior game. I can deal with this though.

Hopefully someone's cracking the whip on the author this time.
