Keitaro, during his world trip, learns he has Kryptonian DNA (the why we'll figure out later, but it's DC comics we can make it work) from a past ancestor. Since his Kryptonian blood is so thin, it generally manifest as something similar to Superboy's tactile telekinesis. Still he does need help dealing with his growing abilities and is fortunate enough to get that help from Kara Zor-El AKA Supergirl.

Keitaro becomes something of a scientist/adventure hero during his training with Kara, and later Black Canary (He decides to learn to fight after getting stomped by the Android Amazo) and returns to the hina inn a good year after he was originally suppose to.

Now...although he and Kara are 'just good friends' the Hina girls do feel a bit...threatened by this foreign woman who wants to take 'their man' in their minds.
So the story follows Keitaro's adventures as he attends university, treks through the more fantastic elements of the DCU and has to deal with the Hina girls misinterpreting his relationship with Kara Zor-El.

Kara might be inclined to snuggle up to Keitaro, not because she likes him 'that way' but because it's fun to see him blush and it's making the Hina girls re-evaluate how they treat her new best friend.
Some fun additions

And you have Superman doing his best to properly set up Keitaro and Kara for real because he has come to like the former Ronin and thinks Keitaro would make an excellent cousin-in-law.

As for your interesting DC universe crossover idea, i think it would be interesting to what the entire Justice League of America would say about Keitaro's treatment at the Hinata-sou, Seta's irresponsible driving and Keitaro's neurotic obsession with Naru as well as Naru's own issues with Keitaro and Seta.

As for other member of the League treating to the possibility of Keitaro/Kara, most would thing it's cute or it's noboby's busines but the kids involved. I could see Bruce vetting Keitaro's background as a favor to Clark and making... inquiries into issues raised in Keitaro's life. I could see Bruce checking Naru for mind-control powers before assuring Clark that she has none and Kara just has to make an effort to make Keitaro look somewhere other than at Naru.

"I don't understand it Bruce. He just takes the abuse over and over again from all of them. What could make a man do that?" Clark demanded of his friend.

Bruce decided to take the high road for a change, not mention how Lois tended to treat Clark early in their association with each other, and refrained from suggesting that all Krytonian males were just gluttons for punishment. "I'm sure Kara and Keitaro will work it out in time, Clark," he said instead.

Her working with Su could have some funny results too. Combining that with her need to mellow... since Keitaro's not into genocide... could produce some interesting results in the Green Energy department.
I'm not sure Su isn't a supervillian...at least in the Us release she noted one of her dreams was world conquest.
Well she did kidnap Keitaro and the other girls at the Hinata-sou and brought them to Molmol with her and tried to force the harem route down Keitaro and the other throat and let her Molmolian goon squad open fire on Seta's plane with live ammo when they tried to escape.

Sounds pretty villainy and totally selfish to me if you want to put Su in a minor super-villain category. Not to mention opening fire on Keitaro with RC tanks with explosive ammo and Mecha Tamas with all kinds of weapons.

Not to mentions this pic from the Ps2 game... :sweat2:
Well of course Su knew Keitaro was kryptonian. In fact the reson she wanted the Harem ending, is because she knew that the best way to get varied, viable kryptonian hybrids was to have Keitaro impregnate multiple women. Sadly since he wouldn't persue the Harem ending on his own, she had to force the issue....

She had originally planned to brainwash the other girls into persuing the harem ending, but the acceleration of his relationship with Naru forced her to act before she was really ready or had a fool proof plan...

However, now with Supergirl in the picture Kaolla Su must re-evaluate her plans. Afterall think of what she could do if she got her hands on Keitaro and Kara's child.

[insert villain laugh]
Then I guess it's time that the JLA steamroll their way through Molmol and bring Kaolla Su to justice for breaking multiple laws and for kidnapping.

Or that they send one of the incarnations of Suicide Squad to extract Keitaro from Molmol.
Finally the piece that made me realize that this really could work:

Especially when you consider that Kara was sent to Thymescira for training when she wasn't on the Kent farm. Although I'm still partial to Wonder girl getting a crush on Keitaro and coming to see him as a potentail replacement for Superboy. (Ignorong the fact that Keitaro is only a small portion of Kryptonian amd isn't much the regular super hero type to begin with. Temmeaged girls get odd ideas sometimes.)

Although, if you don't go in thinking he's a pervert the way Naru and Motoko did, it's almost impossible to hate Keitaro for long. He just gives off that kicked puppy vibe that could wake up maternal instincts in more than one Amazon. Then you have the camp that thinks he should be with Kara for the sake of the Kryptonian race and the camp that thinks he should be with Princess Diana's apprentice.

I could see him training with Bruce and compary for a while at Kara and Clark insistence when the see how clumsy Keitaro is to to start off. And knowing Bruce, he'd figure out WHY Keitaro is a mess and actually correct it.

"Wait, you mean the reason I'm clumsy is because of my Kryptonian genes?" Keitaro asked with a wide eyed stare at Batman's report of what he had discovered after Keitaro's physical evaluation in the Watchtower simulator.

"Your reflexes are periodically registering well into the superhuman range at odd intervals. The problem for you is that unlike Superman, Supergirl, and Powergirl, you don't have the superhuman speed and strength to catch up with what your body is trying to react to. You will unconciously try to correct yourself to move out of the way of others or avoid a potentially embarassing situation only to literally trip over you own feet because your mind is moving faster than your body can react to, occasionally while activating your tactile telekinesis," Batman confirmed clinically as be brought the results up on the moniotor for everyone to see.

Clark could only chuckle sympathetuically as the slowed down video footage of several "incidents" between Keitaro and various female leaguers that had volunteered to help Batman research the nature of Keitaro's problem demonstrated that the boy's eyes and reactions showed him trying to move and his body failing to react accordingly. It almost reminded Clark of his own puberty when his powers were fairly erratic. "What can we do for him, then?" Superman asked as he looked over to his old friend.

"Training. Meditation will help Keitaro to better coordinate his thoughts and actions, as well as gain more control over his variation of tactile telekinesis so that he won't involuntarily plant himself to the floor and trip. I'd personally recommend forms based more on evasion and body movelment such as aikido and kung fu to help him gain a better grasp of how his body actually moves. Batgirl could be helpful in that aspect," Bruce recommended.

"Why her? Why not Nightwing or Robin?" Kara asked. Truth be told she was already getting unnerved by how Cassie Sandsmark had beek looking at Keitaro. She wasn't sure of she wanted to add another Cassandra into the mix at this point.

"Most of Keitaro's issues seem to manifest due to being nervous around the opposite sex. Batgirl can help him overcome that handicap while making it manifest directly during his normal training," Batman replied evenly.

"Well then why can't I help him?" Kara asked somewhat annoyed at the clinical way the Bat was treatingall of this.

"Because you're his friend and don't make him nervous. Keitaro is comfortable around you and you have demonstrated that you won't get upset with him when he has a problem. In fact you're the one that notices his issues seemed to be related to his powers. He would feel too at least with you to cause his issues to manifest and the efforts to correct them would be wasted," Batman replied.

Kara didn't know whnhter to feel proud or insuted at that. On one had it made her happy that her firend felt comfortable around her even with the teasing a flirting she engaged in with him on occasion. On the other hand, it was like Batman was saying she wasn't pretty enough get a rise of Keitaro. It was like those stupid arguments about Powergirl have a better figure all over again. Like it was Kara's fault that Star Labs had made some kind of stripper's idea of a superhero outfit with a big hole in the chest for her clone rather than than the Superman shield that Kara preferred.

"Do you really thing I could have fewer accidents, Batman-san?" Keitaro asked tentatively.

"As long as you're willing to work at it you can, Urashima-san," Batman confirmed.

The smile that lit up the Krytonian-hybrid's face at what he had heard would bring a smile to Kara's own for a good long time.
I think we could have some fun with this, concept.

First off I apologize for all the spelling mistakes and typos in the above snippet. Now, onto the idea itself...

"I thought my time as a tutor was over with Young Justice moving up in the world, Bruce," Dinah Lance, the Black Canary snarked at the Batman.

"Keitaro needs training in how to better grasp his own body movement and while his training with Batgirl is helping, he would benefit more from someone better able to communicate what he was doing wrong," Batman replied.

"And the fact Cass has to correct him but putting her hands on Keitaro is driving Kara up the wall whether or not she'll cop to it," Black Canary added with a smirk.

"Actually, Kara's been somewhat supportive of Keitaro finding anyone other than the Narusegawa girl he knew back in Japan. She claim's she doesn't see Keitaro in a romantic light," Batman responded without looking up from the casework he was doing on the Watchtower computer terminal.

"Whoo. Clark must not like that. I know he's been thinking the kid might make a nice addition to the family," Canary shot back with a surprised expression.

"He's not the only one that's been banking on Keitaro and Kara continuing the Krytonian species. The betting pools in the Watchtower are reaching five figures," Batman confirmed.

"Surprised I haven't heard more about it. Ollie would put down a few hundred at least," Canary commented.

"$730 so far in various bets among ten different pools. His best potential return so far seems to be on how long Kara will keep Powergirl away from Keitaro," Batman reported.

Black Canary wined at that. Supergirl did not always exactly get along with her Star Labs generated clone. "So what do you think?"

"What they do in their own time is their business as long as it doesn't affect League business or how they protect their own territories," Batman commented disinterestedly.

"So you would blow a Bat-gasket of Keitaro and Cass got together?" Canary teased.

"So long as Kara maintained a low profile while visiting them it wouldn't really do much to affect Gotham. Thus far Keitaro has demonstrated little interest in becoming a full time superhero," Batman replied.

"Little interest? I though he got his rear handed to him in that fight with Amazo?" Canary asked.

"Much like Clark, Keitaro seems to have little concern for his own safety when a friend or loved on is in danger. Amazo had already taken Kara out, as you'll recall. And the fight erupted in the vicinity without Keitaro seeking it out. He was there as part of an archaeological expedition," Batman shot back.

"Yeah, he seems to have the hero complex part of the job down alright. And say, wasn't that expedition funded by the Wayne foundation?" Canary asked with a sly expression.

"It was funded by the Gotham Museum of Natural History as a way of trying to locate artifacts for a new Turtle Civilization exhibit. Keitaro happens to be considered an expert on Turtle Civilization culture through his association with Professor Seta Noriyasu. And Bruce Ways happens to both sit on the Board of Governors for the museum and contribute significantly to its operation," Batman corrected.

"I'm sure Clark and Kara both appreciated you giving the kid a job while he was in training and away from that Indiana Jones wannabe," Dinah replied with a warm grin.

"He was qualified. And it counted toward the credits he's getting at Metropolis State that can transfer to Todai when he returns to Japan," Batman responded dismissively.

"Yeah. Forgot he was planning on going home in another few months," Canary replied with a pensive look.

"It won't matter much. Between Supergirl's and Superman's abilities, the Watchtower transporter technology, and the various connections the League has available in the area Keitaro will be free to commute if he still wants to continue training. Or if others want to visit him there," Batman responded.

"Still the place will seem kind of dull without him around. How can we ever handle it without seeing someone faceplant into Barda's chest and manage to get himself stuck with how own powers?" Dinah asked with a laugh.

"It's going to be your job to help him learn to avoid doing that, Canary," Batman reminded her firmly.

"Or at least help him learn to avoid doing it accidentally," Canary replied with a wink and a mischievous smile before heading out of the monitor womb with a carefree "See ya later, Bats" tossed over her shoulder as she made her exit.

As she left Bruce Wayne found himself questioning if Black Canary would actually be the better choice to train Keitaro after all.

It's average. You need to work on your Batman. Less talking and more awkward silences.

In my defense it's Batman around someone that knows him as Bruce, is friends with Barbara, and isn't intimidated by his silence. Put any two other Leaguers there and he'd clam up. Besides Keitaro and Kara are the real focus. The rest is just setup.

Keitaro set his tray down in the watchtowers chow hall, and began slicing into his roast Turkey. He was just sliding the second piece of this rather scrumptious meal into his mouth when he realized he wasn't alone at the table.

"Powergirl...to what do I owe the pleasure?" Keitaro smiled a bit nervously as the rather buxom clone leaned across the table. Through an effort of will worthy of a Green Lantern Keitaro kept his gaze above her neckline, which only seemed to make her smile in a rather predatory fashion.

"Well Keitaro, I find myself fascinated by this turtle civilization you've been researching and I was wondering if you could tell me more about it?"

Keitaro sighed, for weeks now he'd gotten the impression that she was out to get him, after he'd managed to faceplant himself between her breast, and stick himself there with his powers. Thankfully, Kara had been more than happy to run interferance for him. Making sure that Power Girl never got close to him.

'Just giving her time to cool off.' Kara had said. Though now that he thought about it, Powergirl hadn't seemed THAT mad about the incident....

"Keitaro?" The young halfbreed Kryptonian blinked as he returned to the present, finding Power Girl leaning back in her seat, peeling a banana.

"Oh I'm sorry, got lost in thought. What did you need?"

With a bit of flare she finished peeling her meal, favoring him with that predatory grin again, before speaking. "I just wanted to learn more about the turtle civilization." And then she slowly sank her meal between her lips.

Keitaro blinked, mind trying to decide where to start, completely missing the way she rolled the banana around her lips, and took great delight in tasting it with her tongue. "Well it's kind of a long story but..."

"Martian Manhunter to Powergirl, you're needed on the bridge."

Power Girl pouted and sighed as she stood "Another time Keitaro." The two agreed to talk later as the buxom clone sauntered off.

Elsewhere Kara watch the scene, fuming. Once that hussy was gone she sent a quick call up to the bridge "Thanks, Cousin."

Superman replied, still speaking in the Manhunters voice through exact muscle control "Any time."

So would Kyle Rayner try to convince Keitaro to step out of Seta's shadow and try to stand out on his own, considering his own issues with Hal Jordan and being a Green Lantern?

Perhaps but that's a little ways down the line. The initial story follows Keitaro becoming friends with Kara and slowly discovering all the job opportunities open to him as a science/adventerur in the DCU. Then we're going to have to deal with the Hina girls.

I know that Naru will not take the sight of Supergirl/Kara hanging out with Keitaro well at all. Mutsumi will take it in stride as she does everything else, while Shinobu might decide that Keitaro deserves someone as wonderful as Kara.

It would be fun to watch Kara, Cassandra, Hawk-girl and Diana trying to get Shinobu to show a little more confidence in herself, but that's a thought for later.

Once Keitaro is firmly established as a full time adventerer and part time hero, he'll start running into the villainesses.

Empress, Poison Ivy, and Circe might show an interest in him, and I haven't yet dropped the idea of a Poison Ivy/Kaolla Su/Talia team-up

edit: To clarify Keitaro's hero status. He's not a full time JL memeber but he is on the reserves. If Darkseid or the anti-monitor declares war on earth, Keitaro is happy to provide any help that he can. Day-to-day he tends to do the League's research, make sure their information is up to date and that they have access to the latest scientific research and archelogical information.

Kara had to smile as she watched Keitaro pour over the books he had found that suggested a connection between the early Turtle Civilization and the Amazons of Themyscira before they emigrated to Paradise island. The eager young Kryptonian hybrid was almost chomping at the bit to get an interview with Diana and Donna Troy, or better yet, Queen Hippolyta herself. There was just something so infectious about his enthusiasm in general.

"He seems really eager today," the voice of Cassandra Sandsmark, aka Wondergirl, interjected, breaking Kara's mental reverie.

"You know him and his research. He might not enjoy the front lines but give him a library and something to find out and he's in his element," Kara replied to her younger friend with a smile.

"Yeah, with Keitaro it's all about focus. It certainly cuts down on the accidents," Cassie replied with a chuckle. The "Powergirl faceplant" had already become a favorite tidbit of gossip and teasing for both Kara and Keitaro in both the Watchtower and Titans Tower. "I thought Black Canary was going to rupture something laughing after he managed to do the same thing with Powergirl as he had with Barda."

The scowl on Supergirl's face at the mention of Karen Starr, aka Powergirl was as deep as it was expected. "Can we not mention... her?" Kara asked with a growl.

"Fine, fine. Although it does make me wonder. Why did Keitaro fall into her chest like that when he's never fallen into yours. Aren't the two of you essentially the same person?" Cassie asked with a sideways glance at her Kryptonian friend.

"Hmph, with the way she walks around with that hole in her leotard I'm amazed several people don't get stuck in there," Supergirl groused.

"Oh, come on. People used to say things like that about Diana too. Or at least they did behind her back. It's not that bad. Or are you just upset that Powergirl is showing an interest in your newest friend?" Cassie teased.

Kara sniffed derisively before she replied, "I just think Keitaro could do better than her if he was finally looking for somebody in the community to date. Granted, she seems like a step up from that Narusegawa girl he liked back in Japan, but not much of one."

"So you're not thinking of dating him yourself?" Cassie asked in a manner that seemed far too casual to anyone but the most distracted of observers.

"After that mess with Powerboy? No, I'm not in the market for a new boyfriend. Keitaro and I are both happy just staying close friends," Supergirl responded with a shake of her head.

"Good," Cassie replied with a wide smile. "After all, I've always had a weakness for Kryptonian-human hybrid men," she added with a wink before moving over to try her luck at flirting with the mostly naive and clueless young League reservist.

It took a truly Superhuman effort for Kara not to groan before moving in to run as much interference as she could. Honestly how hard up were the younger generation of women in the superhero community? First Batgirl pawing at Keitaro in the name of "training," then Powergirl doing her best to slut it up in front of him, and now Cassie was starting. Was it really that hard to leave the guy alone and let him come out of his shell on his own terms? At this rate she'd need a League of her own just to keep these girls from harassing her new best friend.

And somewhere in the world Motoko Aoyama, Kanako Urashima, Artemis, and Haruka Urashima all sneezed simultaneously.

I'd be willing to classify that as a 'call to adventure'. Hop to it ladies, before one of the league girls walks away with Keitaro's virtue...

Edit: Just a little more

Kanako was in a foul mood as she hauled her suit case from under her bed. She and the residents of the Hina Inn had spent the last few weeks worrying over their fearless Landlord after he'd gotten himself flattened by the horrible machine, Amazo. Though they had recieved regular updates on his condition it really hadn't been enough. They'd wanted to see him, to talk with, and discover for themselves how he was really doing.

When the chance finally came, they discovered that he was doing better than they'd hoped, and yet things were worse than she'd feared.

The young Urashima's fist clenched as she tore open her closet and began tossing clothes on to her bed, preparing for a trip, as visions of Keitaro's skyp call played back in her mind.

There her beloved brother sat, smiling at them from a tent at the dig site, looking hale and healthy as they all got caught up.

Then SHE walked in, that blond haired bimbo named Kara. Keitaro happily introduced her to the Inns residents, treating her like a dear friend. And sure enough that hussy had tried to pretened that she didn't have designs on Keitaro. But Kanako new the truth, had seen it in the blonds eyes....

"We need to talk." Kanako whirled around as the gravelly voice spoke, and found herself staring in slack jawed aw as a shadow stood in her room. The Dark knight briefly regarded her suitcase and clothes. "Before you do something...rash."

******

Deep under her jungle room, Kaolla Su rubbed her hands with glee as she continued work on her latest Mecha-Tama. Above her, video clips of Keitaro's fight, or more accuratly his beating at the hands of, Amazo played. Beside it, played a more recent clip of Keitaro stumbling into a heist at a musem, and foiling the plans of the would-be thieves.

Kaolla watched both videos, noting the way Keitaro's movements had changed. She began plotting the likely progression of his physical skills, uploading that information into her latest creation.

The situation was better than she could've dreamed. It didn't matter if Keitaro or even his friends defeated her latest mecha-Tama, she'd simply take that data and use it to refine her next creation. Best of all, Keitaro would think she was just playing and brush it off. Never realizing that he was furthering her eventual goal, to build a robot army with a singular objective.

One of her little helper drones alighted on her shoulder, watching her fingers fly over the keyboard. "Another step in your plan to take over the world?"

Little Kaolla Su gave her drone a bright energetic smile, as she tickled it under the chin "Of Course!"

Empress, Poison Ivy, and Circe might show an interest in him, and I haven't yet dropped the idea of a Poison Ivy/Kaolla Su/Talia team-up
Eh, which version of Empress? There are at least two, and the one in the 20th/21st century isn't, AFAICT, a villain.

Maxima tends to value strength more than anything else. TT powers or not, I wouldn't call Keitaro strong enough to catch her attention. Even the bit with Artemis I threw in was more of a thought of her seeing him in a big sister/motherly kind of way.

You know, the funny is that the villianesses could show up during Keitaro's various training exercises. Some of the League could have him train in more live fire exercises than "throw Batgirl at him." Also, any archeology digs he might get into while training could coincide with someone like Poison Ivy showing up.

Not intentionally, of course. Just an accidental run-in with one of the lethal ladies of the DCU, which may or may not have one of Keitaro's episodes. Something that may be determined as slightly humiliating, and could result in some zany misadventures.

Kintaro Oe with Kryptonian DNA. Do want.

Him and Negi Springfield must never meet. Their combined presence would cause every woman in a 100 kilometer radius to spontaneously fall in love and lose their panties.

Considering what he survived in way of beatings through the series, and what survived during the bivyvle race episode... I'd almost be willing to believe he and Keitaro are related.

Well she's young, and it takes time to really grow and find your own 'villain identity'. Keep in mind, no villain starts out at the top, they have to work their way up.

Look putting Keitaro, Oe, and Negi in the DCU is way more trouble than it's worth. If I were to write them in I'd seperate them, say have Oe on adventures through space accidently wooing the various female portions of the Lantern Corps, and others (Blackfire I'm looking at you!). Where as little Negi would be seen by most of the older females as the darling little son they never had, and by the teen girls as the perfect little brother.

I won't do it in this story, but upon further thought, Keitaro, Oe and Negi would all fit very well into 'Oracle' like roles for the league. Keitaro's specialty is history, archelogy, and the 'whose who' of the scientific community. Oe is their tech expert who splits his time improving their gear and answering technical question (Well Wonder Woman those mechs are known to have the following weaknesses...). And Negi is their mystical expert, and part time strategist in Watchtower (taking over when Maritan Manhunter and Mr. Terrific need a night off.)

For conflict I do think that some of the League would be worried about Negi's brush with darkness. They don't expect him to turn evil, but they do feel that 10 is a little young to be wrestling with such internal darkness.

Oe manages to tick off any number of stellar empires when he's out in the universe. I can just see an alien fleet showing up on earths door step to demand we turn Oe over to them.

Alien Queen: "You will deliver the Oe to me! At which point he will suffer the ultimate penalty for wooing my daughter!!"

Camera pans over to the Alien Princess picking out floral arrangments for her wedding.

Timothy Hunter and John Constantine might try a hand at helping Negi and keep Barbatos off his back. But they'd probably scorn anyone like the plague who tries to make a ten year old kid fight a grownup's battle.

I could very well imagine Negi riding on top of Happy the golem's shoulder

Most of the JLA and other good guys would probably have trouble being civil towards th really powerful grownups of the Negiverse, IMO, due to involving Negi and his class into things kids at their ages should stay away from.

They have complained about it haven't they? And the JLA have had days when members went renegade due to supervillain influence or mental breakdown and that the awesome powers some of them wielded just made things worse, like with the machinations of Parallax.

Actually, I was just making a joke about two of the galaxies biggest pimps. A negima cross would be difficult, even though magic exists in the DCU.

Exactly. Superman tried to talk Batman out of working with Robin originally. Bruce told him where he could stuff it. Out of all of them Batman would be the least likely to complain about a kid joining the mission if he was capable and willing to work hard.
