"Urahara Kisuke. Taicho of the 12th Squad and President of the Shinigami Research Institute, you have been brought before the judges of Fourty-six and your fellow Gotei Thirteen taichos for the act of treason against the Shinigami of Seretei. You are convicted of the invention of an illegal gigai which would devour the reiatsu of your fellow soul reapers, and thus rendering them powerless and human. How do you plead?"

Spoke the aged So-Taicho of Seretei.

Urahara gave a small smile "Guilty, So-Taicho." He gave a small nod to his two best friends.

Yoruichi Shihouin shook her head solemnly, it wouldn't due to wear her excitement on her sleeve. But damn! It was just gonna be so much fun. She had no problems helping her childhood friend, even if it meant abandoning Soul Society and shaming her family. She gave their other friend a tight squeeze on the shoulder, as if pained. She worried about her apprentice Soi Fong, but had confidence the young special operative member would grow without her.

Kurosaki Isshin, Taicho of the Tenth Division stood with his arms crossed, a disappointed look on his visage. It's time to give Seretei one of my standard lessons in surprises.Ah well, at least tenth will be ready.

The thoughts of Soul Societies Captains was interrupted by a member of Fourty-Six.

"However, due to Urahara-Taichos numerous contributions to Seretei and Rukongai we deem his punishment should be of a honorable nature. Urahara Kisuke-Taicho, you are to be brought before Sokyoku, where your reiatsu is to be added to the sacred weapon. There after, you are to be banished to Rukongai."

"Hai, Fourty-Six-dono.I am honored" Replied the genius scientist.

Isshin almost scoffed.

As if that cocky bastard would so easily let go of his power.

At Sokyoku...

Matsumoto Rangiku had a bad feeling. If the Fuku-Taichio knew her captain, and she did, something would happen differently than what the Fourty-Six had arranged. The problem with Kurosaki Isshin though, was that even if you knew a surprise was coming, you could never predict what would come of it.

Though most of the time it was a swift drop kick to the face.

"Any last words or wishes before your banishment, Urahara-san?" Asked Yamamoto.

"Hai, So-Taicho. I request last words with my best friend, Isshin Kurosaki."

"So be it. Kurosaki-Taicho, Urahara-san wishes to speak with you."

"Taicho!" Rangiku's arm grabbed on to Isshin's Captains robe.

"Shh Matsumoto-chan. You'll be fine." And with that, the Taicho of the Tenth Division strode forward.

"If I may, Sokyoku-san." Isshin gestured towards one of the keepers of the Sokyoku, who held Urahara's Zanpakuto, Benihime, ready to add it's power to the immense blade. The guard reluctantly handed the sword forward to the taicho aftere a short nod from his Supreme Commander.

"Do you believe your self to be worthy of wielding Benihime after what you've done, Kisuke?" Isshin yelled.

"Isshin, I-"

"Shut up. If you are truly honorable, you will add Benihimes power to Sokuyoku your self. So-Taicho. Permission for the accused to do so." Bit off the commander of the Tenth.

"Permission Granted. If Urahara-san believes he can retain a small amount of honor from this, then I shall grant it for all his contributions. Any more last words before you make your final contribution?"

Kisuke gave a smile "Isshin?"

Rangiku's eyes widened "Taicho! Don't!"

"Too late, Matsumoto-chan. Give way to triumph, Seigi*!" Shouted Isshin, the rest of the Gotei 13 already unsheathing their Zanpakuto.

"Sing Benihime!" The destructive red power ran a path through the collected Shinigami, scattering them.

Yoruichi only laughed as she threw a flash explosion into the middle of the area, blinding all those who weren't expecting it.

When the light and dust cleared, the three former taicho's were gone. They were never caught.

Rangiku sighed depressively "Surprise, surprise, Taicho..."

Seigi=Someone tell me if this is wrong, but random japanese to english site says it means justice.

This is the prologue. It's just meant to provide a sort of history to base the later Ichigo/Rangiku pairing off of. This event takes place about 120 years before the start of bleach.

This hasn't been beta'd or anything.
Criticism and ideas please.

Hmm.. and interesting ideea.I'd like to see where you're going with this. Will it be centered on Isshin and his ex-taicho friends or on Ichigo and the gang?

This will be centered around Ichigo and Rangiku, with regular involvement from other characters. I'm going to try not to make it a pure romance either.

As far as I know, it's Fuki-taichou.

Actually it is Fukutaich?.

Personally I would rather see it written as Vice Captain. Switching between Japanese and English in-paragraph is generally very, very annoying to read.

And for an actual error, 46 is spelled Forty-six. "Fourty" is wrong; it's an archaic use of Middle English that went out of style centuries ago.

120 Years later, Just after the betrayal of Aizen Sosuke, Ichimaru Gin, and Tousen Kaname.

Matsumoto Rangiku leaned against the wall outside her office, listening to her subordinates rattle on about the recent tragedy. She yawned as she listened to a group of the lower Shinigami prattle on.

"Did you hear about the orange haired intruder?"

"Yea! I heard his name is Kurosaki Ichigo! He even beat Kuchiki Taicho!"

"Isn't he dream-"

Rangiku tuned out gushing girls as she thought. '

Kurosaki, hmmmm? But with orange hair? No way it could be Isshin Taicho...Still! It's worth a check up, and if he's as cute as those girls were saying, maybe worth some sake too!

The busty auburn Vice Captain pushed off her wall and walked down the streets of Tenth Division. She had a purpose. Sake and possible information about her former Captain. Of course if drunken fun also happened to take place, well, that was ok too.
--------------------------------------------------------

Three hours later, the 10th Divison Vice Captain office.

Sado dropped to the floor drooling, taken out with apparent ease, surprisingly by something other than a Captain of the Gotei Thirteen. The same could be said for Orhime and Ishida. Infact, the only two still conscious were two orange haired Shinigami.

"So, Kuuuuurosaki-kuuuuun, tell me a little bit 'bout yerself." Matsumoto slurred.

"Me?" The fifteen year old asked, drunkenly looking side to side to see if she could be possibly talking to another person.

"I'm...I'm..." he took a pause to think. "I'm Kurosaki IIIIiiiiiiiichigo. I'm fif...fifteen and go to Karakura High!" He finished proudly.

"Whadda 'bout yer family Ichigo-kun?" It was a question that sparked a drunken tirade, that over it's course would transform Ichigo from an emotional drunk, to an over protective drunk, to an angry drunk, as he lamented over his mother, bragged about his sisters, and a rage over his father.

"...AND almost every morning since I entered middle school he jumps out of NO WHERE and tries to KICK ME IN THE FACE! But BAM! I can put that old man in his place now! But I guess I shouldn't be so hard on 'em...He just tries to keep us all happy and laughing since mom....since mo-" He tried to finish his sentence a couple more times before giving in to the alluring tiredness alcohol could bring after a high.

Matsumoto sighed, apparently not very drunk at all ' And I was just gettin' ready to ask his pops name too. Guess it'll have to wait now...

But it would have to wait longer, as Hitsugaya dragged her to do more paper work for the Tenth and the Fifth squads.

But she already got his name. Or am I missing something?

She wants to know if he's connected to Isshin. Also the first sentence confused me. I thought that the story sped up 120 years after the Soul Society arc.

Changed a couple of things as to avoid that confusion.

You do realize that Isshin is Ichigo's dad and thus they share the same last name. Also in this fic she was Isshin's Fukutaich? before he left the Soul Society so therefore it is natural for her to assosiate Isshin with the name Kurosaki.

After going back and writing more of this I realized that it didn't really have a point or a definitive plot twist other than the pairing. As such I've decided to trash this story.

Good news however. I'm been working on a new Bleach story for a couple weeks and in my opinion it's a lot better written. Look forward to the first chapter later tonight.

Booo! This story was starting out pretty well. You don't need a major plot twist to make a story compelling or a good read. Just the interactions that develop where Rangiku tried to find Isshin through Ichigo, her growing attraction to Ichigo, and the reactions it would cause in people like Orihime, Rukia, and Issin himself make this a good read.
