Lament of a Superboy

#1
It was cold, dark and wet. Yet the cave was the first place Clark Kent could find to hide away from everyone. He couldnÆt take being at his parentsÆ house a moment longer after Lori said afraid of him and ran off.

Lori and his parents knew what he had done. His actions since Infinite Crisis and all the death, dismemberment, and carnage he had caused on so many worlds and to so many people. And there was one world he had destroyed by himself.

His heart sank into his stomach when he realized they knew everything he had done. Then he realized what he really had done. He was no better then the Antimonitor. Only that monster didnÆt pretend he was anything else.

He cried as he realized that Superman of Earth 2 and Alexander Luthor likely would have left him behind if they knew the future. Or they would have found some way to remove his powers.

After several hours sobbing, Clark Kent read the one thing he had taken with him. It was a copy of Final Crisis issue five. He bitter laughed at the ending. Geoff Johns really had to hate him.

Or consider him a wonderful punch line for a joke.

Yet Clark Kent aka Superboy Prime wondered who got the shorter end of the stickàthe Legion of Super Heroes or himself? For the most part they seemed second banana to Conner Kent, Kid Flash, Ion and Superman.

ôNo wonder I was so bad.ö Clark muttered ôDo these writers give heroes any respect anymore?ö

With a tired sigh Clark Kent wondered what he could possible do to atone for his horrific actions, or if there even was a way to do so.

Or if heÆd ever be able to sleep at night ever again.

It's short, it's angsty... But it does get into Superboy Prime's head without making him into a total douchebag. So, not bad.

He's a teenager who got dumped into a horrific situation with inadequate emotional support (Superman was distracted by Lois's illness), and a Manipulative Bastard messing with his head, and then, It Got Worse. How emotionally stable would you be, at fifteen, in his situation?

Either you're an outlier or you were some sort of medication. That or you're just lying.

I'd go with 'lying', though 'dead inside' is a distinct possibility, given zeebee1's online personality.

I've never figured out why people have such a negative opinion of myself. I just happen to know who I am. Not everyone is critical enough of there own flaws to understand themselves.

I admit, in his place I wouldn't have done well. But that wouldn't because of a bad emotional state, it would because of bing manipulated by some mastermind.
