[Legend of Zelda] Strange Inversion

Okay, we've seen plenty of Evil Link ideas, but...

...how many times have we seen fics where Link, despite having good intentions, is actually bringing about Armageddon or something, while Ganon, despite using less than savory methods, is trying to SAVE the world?

An old saying goes 'The Road to Hell is paved with good intentions'. That's more or less the case with this idea - on both sides. Both Link and Ganon, in their way, would have good intentions, but Ganon uses the wrong methods, while Link strives for the wrong goal.

Thoughts?

I think that I can safely say that Hyrule and the adjacent areas are probably screwed no matter who wins. When the Titans war overhead, and all that jazz. Although, if this involves Moblin hordes protecting the land, then it's also comedy gold.

Because nobody expect the Moblin Inqu-er-Defenders.

Sorry for the necro, but this idea reminded my of a fic I read a while ago. A Sailor Moon, Ranma 1/2 crossover if I recall correctly. Because of a mishap when using the gates of time, the outers ended up standing apart from the inners and killed Akane during a confrontation with an enemy, thereby turning the entire NWC against the senshi.

The outers are the picture perfect case of good intentions and horrid execution(expendable civilians) while the NWC are the ones striving for the wrong goal(Defeating the senshi). The way it was executed in the fic turned out to be very interesting, because for once, the martial artists didn't own their enemies instantly.

In any case, seeing a fic where the lines between good and evil aren't clear cut would definitely be worthwhile.

The end justify the means. Belief and disbelief. Sometimes, that all that separates two people.

Sometimes a difference between ideologies is all that's needed to start a conflict. Hmm... I wonder.

I know, the urge to find the author and stalk his residence as a form of passive protest grows higher every day.

Also, my research concerning Geno Calamari is still proving unfruitful.

Yeah... unfortunately, when some of these authors disappear, they know how to stay gone.

I once ran into a very androgynous fellow who I thought was a girl for two months before I realized my mistake. The reason why he was reluctant to mark himself as a guy was because he had female net-stalkers in the past due to his chatroom role-playing of Yuki Sohma.

I thought that was hilarious.

I just thought of this idea again, and I may have some ideas for it. There was the stated option of Zelda just being incompetent and accidentally setting off armageddon, but what if she was actually evil? It could be interesting if she was plotting all this evil, and using propaganda to villanize Ganon. Hell, she could frame him for something to help in that matter. It would take a very manipulative princess to do this, but she has the triforce of wisdom to help her.

When Link is faced with his initial decision, he would obviously think that the beautiful princess is on the side of good, and the ugly monster would be the evil one. If he stays on that side, or sees the truth eventually, I haven't decided yet. Either way it should make for an interesting story.

I have seen some evil Zelda fics, don't like them so much. Remember prophecies are your friends, as well as fanatics. Zelda has the triforce of wisdom, which translates to me as prophecies. Zelda could just be a fanatic trying to bring something about that would mean death for many people, but really didn't think of it like that, because the prophecies showed a paradise due to the event, but not the cost necessary to bring about paradise.

Ganondorf was trying to stop her, and was fairly stupid about it, he was a natural at the dark arts, necromancy, and demonic summonings. This in of itself didn't make him evil, it was just that those who generally use these arts want power or to dominate, and shit like that. So the demons went on their merry way doing just that, only, that would work to stop Zelda. Realizing this, he decided that was the best way to go about it, and played along with the demons' beliefs that he wanted to conquer the world.

Link just wanted the whole thing to stop, and for Navi to stop eating mushrooms.

Obviously this would be for OoT game.
