I guess it would fall here since it was live action, but I was among a privileged few that got to see the Yamato movie on Sunday, a full month before its release in Japan! I was a little worried about its transfer to live action, but it was completely awesome. They did make some changes to make it a fresh take on the franchise, but I thought they all worked awesomely. The CG effects were wonderfully done and completely wowed me. I will freely admit that I laughed, I cried and cheered like a little kid. Especially when they fired the wave motion gun.

I watch it at Youtube, the section when WMG fired. AWESOME!!!!!!
