Okay, I've seen in several places on TVTropes that there is allegedly an episode of Captain Planet where they go to an alternate future where Ma-Ti, the kid with Heart, has used his ring's power to become an unopposed dictator. I tried looking for it, but wasn't able to figure out what episode it's supposed to be. Anyone here know what I'm talking about? Or is it just a conspiracy to lie to people and get their hopes up?

I don't recall any episode like that. The closest I can think of is the two-parter where Wheeler goes back in time to stop himself from becoming a planeteer, and this alters the timeline such that the other 4 went their separate ways and had to deal with stuff on their own.
Ma-Ti, while being far from a dictator, does, IIRC, use his ring power to "convince" people to act in certain environmentally friendly ways. The way it's presented, you're obviously supposed to think he's doing a good thing.
