Looking to get into D&D

I'm looking to get into these kinds of games, specifically online via forums or messenger or whatever.

Any advice for websites to find other players and places to get sourcebooks online for relatively cheaply.

Look into getting on ORPG via traipse download, if you wanna use dicerolling on skype get The Augur, a bot that does dicerolls, get into mythweavers to create sheets of all types. Forget D&D 3.5, Pathfinder is more balanced in some senses and it's all in a single website no need to download. If you still want pdf downloads there's a torrent with all 3.5 books official.

Find a competent consistent DM that does NOT boast about how great he is but never pulls through.

Find a good crowd to hang out with, avoid assholes like the plague, RPing groups, be they campaigns or Persistent World settings need a good and mentally stable community, on that note if you get ORPG, avoid the A.C.E. Server at all costs, everyone hates them and it's full of assholes who would be rejected on trying to enter anywhere else. This doesn't come from just my experience, it's what I hear people tell me each time I mention them. I have yet to receive positive comment on them.

Traipse is a download correct? Does it cost anything, my budget for things like this is extremely short.

Also do you have a link to the Pathfinder site.
