Looking for some feedback before I get started on this because I intend to write it 100% then cut it up into chapters to be posted. Obviously considering the source a happy ending is not really in the cards so I kind of wanted to go all out. None of the characters save the creepy space cat are going to make an appearance, them being in a parallel reality. Ranma takes Madoka's place as the focus for multiple timelines since he's the main character of a lot of fictional stories acting as actual alternate realities.

List breaks are planned chapter stops.
  • Shampoo wishes and becomes the first magical girl
  • next day she arrives at furinkan and shows off. Kyuubee twisted her wish because if he followed the intent ranma would never make a wish. Shampoo is pissed at her magical girl mascot and drives him off trying to kill him
  • later ranma sneaks over and ends up following her. Being inexperienced, Shampoo is shocked enough by the witch at one point that Ranma has to step in and help, allowing Shampoo to use her finishing attack on it
--
  • Ukyo meanwhile is visited and also wishes. Like Shampoo her wish ends up being purposely misinterpreted. Having wished Ranma to show how much he really loved her. Since he only cared for her as a friend nothing really changes
  • Ukyo at school shows off her new status and is disappointed like Shampoo that her wish didnÆt come true. Unlike Shampoo she doesnÆt blame kyuubee for it, realizing that she failed to word it properly. This sets Ukyo and Shampoo fighting while combatting witches
  • Ranma along with Akane while jealous of the new powers are wary of the cost of having to fight witches which after another battle prove to be quite dangerous to both of the new magical girls
  • in this fight they are fighting each other more than the witch and ranma ends up saving them both at the last second.
--
  • Kyuubee focuses his attention on Ranma and Akane as a series of small time witches keep Shampoo/Ukyo occupied. They repeatedly turn down a wish. Ranma because he'd become a magical girl and the possibility of being locked. He is however tempted, Ukyo/Shampoos wishes and his inability to fight equally weighing on him. While Akane is also tempted due to wanting to help others but is too wary of the hidden costs.
  • Kyuubee convinces Ranma to find Ukyo/Shampoo and Akane tags along. After defeating a strong witchÆs familiar, Ukyo/Shampoo are fighting each other again when the witch appears and kills Ukyo with a sudden attack.
  • Ranma is unable to help due to the witches power and is forced due to Shampoos earlier wish to make his own in order to save her.
  • Having become the strongest magical girl, Ranma easily kills the witch but is now trapped forever as a girl and initially hides this from everyone except Akane who can see that Ranma now has a soul gem.
--
  • Nodoka stops by the next day as Ranma/Akane are secretly mourning UkyoÆs death and subsequent public disappearance. Initially Ranma continues to play Ranko, but grows ever more upset over UkyoÆs demise until Ranma is forced into a situation that would otherwise change her back. Crushed by the future of never being a man again and her friends death, she tells Nodoka the truth.
  • Nodoka at first seems sympathetic then rejects ranma completely, intending it as a small mercy instead of suicide, and that she would rebuild a different relationship with Ranma free of the contract.
  • Devastated by NodokaÆs careless words, Ranma disappears before her mother can say anything else.
--
  • Akane finds out from Kyuubee that ranma is ultimately destined to destroy everything now that sheÆs become a magical girl, learning that witches are made from magical girls
  • Akane finds Ranma one day with the help of Kyuubee and makes an attempt to turn Ranma away from her fate. Her words only enrage Ranma, attracting a witch capable of fighting Ranma. After the witches defeat, Ranma reveals her almost completely corrupted soul gem to Akane. Having tried to bleed off her despair, Ranma found that she couldnÆt find any witch seed strong enough, and that everything about her life caused her despair.
  • Akane tries to comfort her but Ranma tearfully apologizes to Akane for being such an idiot, her soul gem becoming completely corrupted, turning her into a witch.
  • RanmaÆs rebirth ends up destroying much of nerima, leaving Akane in a sea of ruin.
Having no other choice, Akane wishes and it ends up resetting reality without Ranma. Destroying all alternative realities bringing it just down to one.
--
  • Being the one to make the wish, Akane is the only one who remembers Ranma. Saddened by RanmaÆs fate to be forgotten by everyone and with Kyuubee appearing to offer her a wish, she wishes for Ranma to exist again. Believing that with her foreknowledge she can stop things from happening the same way.
  • Story ends with Akane waking up and not having Ranma at her house. Now a magical girl, she goes to school, she learns that Ranma has returned but in this life was never engaged to her, leaving her to try and rebuild her relationship with him. Final shot is her seeing that Ranma has Kyuubee hanging around him. (Possibly he goes to a different school or has already made a contract)

Shampoo

Personally, what I liked about Madoka Magika was the last episodes where Madoka gave Kyuubei a giant 'fuck you' in her wish and basically saved everyone.

Keeping that in mind, Akane makes her wish that (knowing now that Ranma was the strongest) Ranma wishes that Witches return to their human lives after they're destroyed. Maybe Akane goes on a quest for another Ranma-canon wishing item like the sword and makes the wish herself or something.

That could be twisted however you want, though I'm pretty sure Kyuubei can't actually twist wishes. The wish is granted how they want it to be, but they assume too much or don't think it through as what the consequences are.

I'm also pretty certain that a person's powers directly relate to the wish they make. (Time stop/reset by wishing to change the past for example.)

Maybe try going 'balls to the wall' determinator action/drama? I know you usually take it slow and steady with your stories, but you should change it up a bit. It might get you more feedback.

You never mentioned what Shampoo's wish was. Also, Bad Ends suck. The only exist to make the Good Ends better.

I'd like to stay away from a canon wish solving problems ending. Akane can't be unselfish enough to wish for something like that so it'd eventually just create a worse problem. Her first wish was lucky enough to save everyone but then when given another chance she ruins it all.

That could be twisted however you want, though I'm pretty sure Kyuubei can't actually twist wishes.? The wish is granted how they want it to be, but they assume too much or don't think it through as what the consequences are.
Kyuubee does wait for the perfect moment to make a selfish wish. Not a huge stretch that when given vague wishes he chooses an outcome most beneficial to his organization.
I'm also pretty certain that a person's powers directly relate to the wish they make.? (Time stop/reset by wishing to change the past for example.)
Not always. All the powers are wildly different and only two girls have something directly related to their wish.

Maybe try going 'balls to the wall' determinator action/drama?? I know you usually take it slow and steady with your stories, but you should change it up a bit.? It might get you more feedback.
I'm intending for this to be more tight and focused with more fighting. (Not too much since witches can't be that common.)

Ranma timeline wise I've decided for shortly after the Pink/Link arc.

Because I was still trying to figure out the wording of it so it's not just a "LOVE ME!" wish. However when I started trying to come with a scene to start things I came up with one from Cologne's perspective. Shampoo already having talked with Kyuubee and wanted a second opinion. They decide, since Shampoo already has Ranma's love of course, to wish that Shampoo was first in Ranma's mind. With the actual wish being made off screen but the effect being that Ranma wants to spend more time around her.

Here's the scene.

------
Sipping on a nice cup of tea, Cologne chuckled to herself while reading her villages newspaper. After all the mischief Pink and Link had made here for her great granddaughter and her husband, the twins had not taken their defeat well. æShampooÆs groom is weak eh? Being safely across another continent is certainly good for your bravery girls.Æ Shampoo would get her recompense the next time she visited, so hopefully her great granddaughter had calmed down enough not to kill them both.

ôGreat Grandmother?ö Shampoo questioned in Mandarin, entering into the room with her arms held in front of her stomach as though she was holding something.

ôYes?ö She switched over to her native tongue as well.

ôI have an important question to ask.ö

ôWell out with it child.ö She folded the newspaper in half and set it down.

ôKyuubee.ö The girl shifted her arms as though there was a form there. ôSays that he will grant me any wish that I desire. But I am not sure what I should ask for, do you have any suggestions?ö

ôA wish?ö She raised an eyebrow dubiously. ôFrom your-- friend?ö Shampoo merely nodded, not picking up on her tone.

ôHe says that it can be anything.ö The purple haired teen added.

ôOh could he make an old woman young and beautiful again?ö She sighed wistfully, deciding to indulge the youngster. ôWhy if I was just a few years younger I bet I would catch son-in-lawÆs eye. IÆd have to fight to keep his hands off of me.ö Cologne stopped and narrowed her eyes dangerously as ShampooÆs face turned green. ôHas something upset your stomach?ö

ôNo! No great grandmother!ö Shampoo protested quickly in alarm.

ôBut that time has past.ö She had grown into an old woman, long past the point of pining for her lost youth. Although the experience she had now in the body from her prime would be a fearsome and beautiful sight to behold.

ôShould I wish for my beloved to forget the Tendo girl?ö Her great granddaughter interrupted her brief musings.

ôIÆm surprised youÆre not being more ruthless. Why not simply remove the obstacle?ö

ôI thought about that. Everytime it has turned out negatively for me. I do not wish to tempt that with a magical wish.ö

ôA wise course of action. It seems like youÆre gaining some wisdom through your failures.ö Cologne allowed a smile to creep onto her lips at the angry glare that was briefly directed at her. ôAre you not going to ask for your grooms love?ö

ôI already have that.ö Shampoo boasted. ôHeÆs just unwilling to return my affection.ö

ôDo you know why?ö She asked rhetorically, knowing that the answer was no. ôBecause you throw yourself upon him as though you were going to mount him in the street.ö

ôIÆm only trying to greet him with enthusiasm.ö The purple haired teen looked away and kicked at the floor. ôWhat if I wished for him to understand how I felt?ö

ôAnd you think this will win you the war for his heart?ö

ôI know it!ö Shampoo announced.

ôNo it wonÆt.ö Cologne sighed. ôYouÆve told him how you feel about him dozens-- hundreds of times already.ö

ôThen what should I do?ö The teen pouted.

ôWell-- if you donÆt want to remove the Tendo girl, you could try an alternate tactic.ö Strumming her fingers on her cane, she let Shampoo wait anxiously.

ôWhat?ö

ôSon-in-law is protective of the Tendo girl, right?ö Shampoo nodded her head rapidly. ôThey spend a great deal of time around each other.ö Another nod. ôIf you did have a wish-- which better be consequence free if you having any brains in that head of yours, why not wish to be first in your husbandÆs mind?ö

ôThat will work.ö Shampoo looked down to her empty arms. ôCan you do that? Can you make it so my beloved cares about me more than Akane?ö The purple haired girl seemed to get an answer and rushed off with giddy excitement.

Cologne raised an eyebrow once again at her great granddaughters strangeness. Insanity didnÆt run in her family but Shampoo had been exposed to a great deal of chemicals recently. Along with possible blows to the head.

ôHopefully her imaginary friend decides to run away soon.ö She shook her head and went back to reading her newspaper.

Read through the first post.

First off, I'm confused on the purpose of Shampoo. Her being a magical girl doesn't really seem to be needed for the later parts of the plot. She in fact could likely just screw the whole thing up since her wish would pretty much be "Shampoo wishes for husband to love her and go back to village with her and have lots of babies!" which she'l do at the first moment she learns that she can get a wish.

Second, why would Ranma even need to be a magical girl? Mundane ordnance can kill witchs and Ranma can kick plenty of ass and could probably take out any witchs without some kind of hax ability. His aversion would likely be less a fear of getting locked and more the fact it's so girly, hell the only reason I can see him not just wishing his curse away would be that he might get stuck wearing a skirt as a man.

Third, Akane would just jump right in. She never thinks about the consequences, the dogi, the super ramen, the jellyfish swimsuit, running into a swarm of buzzsaw bandanas, and countless other times show she just bull rushes in and ignores it when people flat out tell her just how it's gonna screw her over. In all likelihood she's only gonna wait as long as it takes her to come up with a good wish and then blow it when someone pisses her off by making a horrible one that she will regret almost instantly.

This is how I see it playing out:
Shampoo finds the Kyuubey and asks the ghoul for advice
Ghoul tells her to leave the damn thing alone which she does.
Ukyo makes her wish "To get closer to Ranma"
Ranma helps her out in witch fighting
Shampoo wishs for Ranma to spend more time with her too
All three fight witchs
They all start to become better friends.
Akane makes a horrible wish after getting jealous of Ranma helping Ukyo and Shampoo.
Shampoo dies from the misworded wish
Ukyo tries to kill Akane for this but Ranma stops her
Ukyo witchs from both despair at Ranma apparently choosing Akane and at Shampoos death
Akane goes into despair at what she caused and begins to witch
Ranma realizes that they only got to this point because of him wish they had never met him.
Ranma makes the wish and Time resets
Ranma is a magical girl the end

Shampoo does screw up everything by an innocent wish. The Pink/Link arc is filled with her simply assuming that Ranma is already in love and her husband. As is pretty much everything dealing with her.

Primary purpose after she is shown to be outclassed, is to be useless. She wouldn't have wanted Ranma to make a wish and since he's not a she they can't be husband and wife. So she goes off on her own thing, disheartened by the results. Possibly trying to kill Ranma for not letting her die like a warrior.

Mundane ordinance is also shown to be ineffective against powerful witches. And Ranma would be fighting witches and kicking plenty of ass. Just lacks the necessary oomph to finish them off.

Ranma would have to make a wish as a girl, wishing the curse away would have but one outcome.

You reference two different types of events. Ones where Akane is giving a surprise power up and she takes the opportunity to actually be better than Ranma at something for once in her life. And her being selfless.

You're right in that she would be waiting for the right wish but seeing on Ukyo and Shampoo are effected by it, needing to go out and fight witches to the death, would temper her enthusiasm. Those two would become obsessed with it, trying to prove who's the better magical girl.

This is how I see it playing out:
Shampoo finds the Kyuubey and asks the ghoul for advice
Ghoul tells her to leave the damn thing alone which she does.
Thought about that but only candidates are shown to be capable of seeing/hearing Kyuubee.

Ukyo makes her wish "To get closer to Ranma"
Ranma helps her out in witch fighting
Shampoo wishs for Ranma to spend more time with her too
All three fight witchs
If shampoo just becomes a magical girl later then the initial 'leave it alone' is just padding.

They all start to become better friends.
Akane makes a horrible wish after getting jealous of Ranma helping Ukyo and Shampoo.
Shampoo dies from the misworded wish
Ranma would be far more likely to take the brunt of Akane's bad wish since that is her target when jealous.

Ukyo witchs from both despair at Ranma apparently choosing Akane and at Shampoos death
Akane goes into despair at what she caused and begins to witch
Turning into a witch requires using up all their positive magic and not bleeding off the negative. Wouldn't be a quick process.
Ranma realizes that they only got to this point because of him wish they had never met him.
Ranma makes the wish and Time resets
Ranma is a magical girl the end
Why not leave that open ended? The problem of Ranma being the strongest magical is also not solv

Cologne would probably have heard something to reference them in amazon history. Maybe not knowing the whole truth but probably stories of girls making wishs on similar beings that all end in disaster. And while Shampoo would join later it could still be used as a bit of character building or such with her going against Cologne's advice.

While Ranma may be the target of Akane's spite it doesn't me he'll be the one to die. It could just as easily just something along the lines of wishing they'd all break up as a team which leads to Shampoo dying and driving a wedge between Ranma, Ukyo, and Akane.

And Going into despair does darken the soul Gem. It's the whole reason Kyuubey does the whole mind breaking shit in the first place. Soul Gems go dark either by wasting magic or dropping past the despair event horizon.

Finally you can leave it open ended if you want. I didn't address the point of Ranma being the strongest magical girl because it wasn't needed in the bit that I pitched.

I was thinking that Cologne would realize that Shampoo has gotten herself mixed up into something big, remembering either stories from her childhood or first hand encounters with magical girls/witches. But never being one to know the details so she just knows that all magical girls end up meeting mysterious ends.

So she could be the one to warn Ranma/Akane off after it's too late for Shampoo and Ukyo.

When does Kyubee actually do any kind of mind breaking shit? He's always about misleading through omission. His big mind fuck moment was explaining everything to Madoka long before she makes any wish.

Actually now that I think hard on it I can't pull up any facts with certainty that would prove my stance on Soul gems corrupting with Grief rather than just magic use. Mostly since I only know the cannon indirectly from fics. But in every one of those fics at least seems to agree that Grief darkens soul gems. I'm standing by that stance.

Grief does darken it but since use of magic is stated to be the reason for the eventual darkening unless it's bled off, grief would merely work as a catalyst for overuse or abuse.
