Mega Disappointments, a Pokemon Thread

Now, with the Mega Evolution, I'm sure some of us were excited, some were skeptical, and some outright hated the idea. But' it's here, and we have to get used to it, but I'm also sure some of us were surprised or disappointed at what we got or didn't get for Mega Evolutions, so I made this thread.

Have a Mega-Evolution you think should have been different? Is there a Pokemon you feel got jipped and should have one? Got an idea of what a mega form would be like? Voice your ideas here. As for me...

There's a fair number, but one that immediately stands out is Snorlax, I really thought it would have a mega form.

Personally, I think Mega Snorelax would either stay a Normal Type or add in a Fighting type, and it would probably change abilities to Insomnia. Stuck awake, it's stats would shift from defensive to offensive, it's decent Sp. Defense stat dropping as low as it's Defense stat, but boosting Speed and Attack. Obviously, the Insomnia Ability would render it's sleep moves, like rest, snore and sleep talk, useless for the battle, but it's already powerful physical attacks, Giga Impact, Body Slam and Heavy Slam, could have a pretty good boost.

As for it's appearence, I don't think it would change much. Maybe a reddish color change, since past Pokeflute experience show they rampage when they are woken up, and one more thing, you can see it's eyes...

It's big, bloodshot insomnia haunted eyes as it wails on you for being kept awake...

Okay, any other ideas?

Well, since Legendaries can have Mega Evolutions as well...

Regice, Registeel, Regirock, Groudon

Those four could use them.

The Golems because, let's face it, they're the worst trio ever.

Groudon has massive stats, but his move pool is horrendously set up. He's a physical fighter and ALL of his moves, EXCEPT Earthquake, are special based. As cool as this thing is, he needs either A: Unique fire and Earth moves of his own, or B: A Mega Evolution that boosts his special attack up high enough to be useful.

Another one that could possibly use a Mega Evolution is Jynx, in my opinion. This is, in part, due to the fact that Magmar and Electabuzz both have gained evolutions, and I've always considered them a trio in their own right, but it also because, while Jynx's special stats are more than decent, her physical resilience and numerous type disadvantages, as well as lacking the all the type resistances of either Psychic or Ice types (Save for the same type resistance) give her some problems.

I'd imagine a mega-Jynx as still an Ice/Psychic (Or maybe an Ice/Fairy) with maybe a bit more balance between her defense stats, perhaps an ability like Cursed Body or a freezing equivalent of Static or Flame Body (I don't think there's an ability like that, and I am somewhat surprised, although Frozen is probably one of the least considered status effects). She would probably be a bit more anthropomorphic, but still have the similar face, perhaps her clothes (I assume they're clothes) become more armor like, maybe an icy blue armor, or become more like winter clothes (Kinda fur trimmed, like a Santa outfit)

Mega Ludicolo

And the trainer comes from a far off location, complete with awesome disco music and a massive poke-ball styled afro!

yes, I'm talking about the awesome Miror B from the Gamecube games.

I had a discussion with some friends about it. We thought about a Mega Slaking. It loses Truant. That's it. It can now move every turn, and it's sprite is standing up, holding a cup of coffee, and has wide, bloodshot eyes.

IF there was an easter egg where he shows up in X and Y, I would immediately buy a 3DS and this game.

You know, I just realized, none of the mega evolutions are from Gen V or VI...

I've been hoping to see the rapidash unicorn evolve into a Pegasus, but I guess that'll never happen.

I'm surprised they didn't make a Mega-Pikachu. Give people even more reasons to never have a Raichu. Make it so that the stat changes when mega-evolved at least include doubling (or almost doubling, with some other boosts as well) its offensive stats, so as to give people to a reason to use the mega form over the light ball.

No Mega Pikachu is likely the same reason anime!Pikachu isn't a Raichu. They don't want it to evolve and likely most people don't want their Pikachu to evolve either.

i'd like to see the other starters as megas. also Mega-Eevee (normal), making going the plain route with Eevee rewarding in its own right, he would have Protean, Scappy or Normalize. I've also always thought about a mega Arbok, he would be Poison/Dragon with an ability I tentively name 'Venomous' wnich causes all moves with a chance to poison to always 'badly poison'.

Nah, the ability wouldn't do "badly poison", it would cause all poison moves to affect steel types.

This one's not so much because I like or use either one, but Zangoose and Seviper. Their everlasting feud would give the perfect reason for an escalation to Mega Evolution for one, while the other does so to match it.

Seviper is already a pretty poisonous punk, so it would probably either stay a poison type, or add in a Dark or Fighting type to go against Zangoose being a normal type. The latter makes sense what with the Three Muskateers being fighting types, and Seviper's pokedex entries always seeming to mention it's tail-blade, which would probably be a longer, more deadly weapon on Mega-Evolving (Maybe with a jagged shape, too). The former seems more likely, though, as most any non-poison move Seviper learns, aside from Normal Type, is Dark, it would also lend more towards it's appearance and it's Mega Evolution would probably have a more assassin-like look.

On the opposing Side, Zangoose might add in a Ground type, considering it's claws and Poison immunity, but, again, it's skill-set make it a Dark Type, it's appearance darkening and taking on a more guerrilla-fighter kind of look
