Mega Man movie in development

Yes, this is apparently a thing.  I found out a few hours ago that Fox is working on a Mega Man film now.  This could be cool, or it could be shit.  I don't know what continuity they're going with, but I'm hoping it's animated.  I just don't see how they're going to make a live action version not seem like a rip-off of Robocop.

Wait, what? Capcom actually remembered Mega Man is a thing in order to sell the movie rights?

Well, let's not jump the gun here. There have been several similar projects in 'development' that never cropped up for various reasons, Metroid, Zelda, Halo, etc...

I'll believe this is happening when I see a solid release date, cast, and production images.

Plus, let's be honest here, there's a 95% chance even if it does happen that it's going to be crap.

Curb the hype if you're feeling it, it's way too soon for it.

Capcom has put some movies out in the past, so it's got a halfway decent shot of being made, but I'm not about to hold my breath that it's going to see release, much less that it might actually be good.

I wasn't trying to come across as hyping things up. I thought this was interesting news, and I'm currently cautious about the thing. As I said, I don't see how they could make something like this live action. Too easy for people to make comparisons to Robocop. It practically has to be animated to have any realistic shot at success if it does end up getting made. This is just how I view the situation.

Yeah, but Capcpom has to actually remember Mega Man exists to sell the film rights.

Unless Fox has had it for several years already.

...As much as I loved the Deadpool trailer and eagerly await the movie and XM:A, I don't think I can trust them with Mega.
