So, not a rec, but I'm actually looking for a fanfic. Plot was Janeway went into a coma during the events of the 1st episode. Somehow, Tom Paris was the only one qualified to take over, so he's acting Captain right now. Problem is, most crewmembers know his track record, and are very disgruntled.

Eventually meets up with the Marquis, and while he convinces them to join his crew, they don't settle in as easily as canon. To make things worse, Janeway wakes up, but is suffering from memory loss, so her last memory is of her as lieutenant.

<a href='http://www.fanfiction.net/s/4975274/1/House_vs_The_Vampires' target='_blank' rel='nofollow'>House vs. The Vampires</a> ? by Ingram reviews
When Alice collapses into an unexplainable coma, the Cullen's may be forced to seek out the best doctor of diagnostic medicine in the world. And how will the irascible, misanthropic Dr House handle the angsty vampire coven? Not very well, I Imagine.
Rated: K+ - English - Tragedy/Drama - Chapters: 13 - Words: 33,450 - Reviews: 364 - Updated: 8-24-11 - Published: 4-6-09 - G. House & Alice
I know nothing about Twilight characters aside from bits and pieces of story I've heard or read, but House is incalculably IC through the whole writing thus far. And even more hilarious, Leah shows up with Jacob and imprints on the crotchety ol' doc, much to her happy chagrin.

Since Christmas is just around the corner, I was wondering if anyone had a decent Dr. Who where the Doctor (or multiple incarnatiosn thereof) play the role of the Ghost of Christmas Past, present and Future for someone.

I think it would be at least a mildly entertaining read.

It was done in one of the previous Xmas specials, I think by 11th.

I am very impressed by this story. It's actually slightly dark, and that's what impresses me. It starts with Halloween, where some of the BtVS crew dress up in outfits from the Imperium of Man (40k).

The pace is fast, the details are slim, but sufficient. There's a fair amount of handwaving, but it keeps the perspective fairly focused, in my opinion.

The most engrossing part for me so far is the zealotry. It doesn't go into gory detail, but it acknowledges just how much zealotry there is/was in the 40k universe, and how that may carry over into the realm of BtVS and SG1.

Not a rec, but a search question... (If there's already a show search thread, sorry, but I couldn't find it.)

There was a show a few years ago that aired on both Discovery and Animal Planet, that show hypothetical evolutionary chains as time moved on. I remember multi-winged birds, giant squid, and octopi that lived in trees like apes, with the thought that they would be the next lifeform to become a sentient species. Anyone know the name of this show?

Hmmm... preferred more the Life After People serials put out by the History Channel, but that is just me... interesting how stuff will decay after we are gone...

EDIT: Odd... I had to edit the post, for whatever reason the post button placed my response in the middle of the post, rather than the end.
